DanJacko
Just watched the youtube highlights video for Got to say the venue looks fantastic, great cop by Chikara there. Big crowd and a fantastic show apparently. Â Shame King of Trio's isn't in that venue. Instead they are back in that god awful Palmer Centre. Paid Members Up Chuck Posted August 8, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted August 8, 2012 Too bad A-Train is unavailable, I'd fucking love an X-Factor reunion. This is still awesome though. Â Oh shit, I never even thought of that! Still, Aldo Montoya being booked in 2012 is just too brilliant. Â I think he might've been asking what venue C-Rex was in. In case he was: it was the Trocadero Theatre in Philly: Â Â Â Â Gorgeous venue, and it looked great on the IPPV. Â EDIT: Evidence that it looked great on the IPPV: Â
The Cum Doctor
The atmosphere sounded amazing on the iPPV as well. Crowd was nuked.
cobystag
The Troc is a lovely venue and fantastic for the gigs I've seen there (Opeth, Iced Earth) and it was a former burlesque theatre back in the day.
Cobra1000
That looks gorgeous, Im going to have to watch that now. I only turn up for King Of Trios watching Chikara, but that looks a fun show indeed! Â Aldo Montoya, bless him.
Paid Members PunkStep Posted August 9, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted August 9, 2012 That looks familiar. Is that the venue they used for The Wrestler, when he wrestled Ernest Miller at the end?
cobystag
No that was in Dover, NJ. To my knowledge that venue hasn't been used since. Â Rough as fuck area and the very first road trip I made stateside.

Forrest
Â There's been a huge shit storm about this, but I don't know the back story to it, could someone fill me in?
poetofthedeed
Â There's been a huge shit storm about this, but I don't know the back story to it, could someone fill me in? Â Â Basically, During night 2 of kot 2009 There was a "showcase" tag match with these 4 guys. The match wasn't terrible, but it was bland and boring and seemed much worse because it happened on arguably the best show in chikara history. Â Since then there has been kind of a running joke among chikara fan's where whenever theres a surprise opponent to ask for the submission squad, And since wink vavasseurs gimmick is that he gives the fans what they want, he went and did it and some of the fans have gone full on rohbot dribbler supertard over it. cobystag
I was there for Night 2 of KOT 09. Still one of the worst matches I've seen. Have not watched it back on DVD tho, but just got live experience it's one of the worst.
