The fact that Brock Lesnar featured in all of the winning MMA awards confirms how biased the internet wrestling fan can be.

My sadness is only lessened by the fact that Butch won funniest poster.

Well done chief. You deserved it by a mile.

I mentioned it in the thread. I suppose it's understandable but it's a fucking travesty that Lesnar/Mir beat Guida/Sanchez. I'd imagine most of it is wrestling fans who saw the Lesnar/Mir fight but not the other one. Anyone who saw both and preffered Lesnar/Mir is off their tits!

Personally, I think it's more of an indication that some fans haven't got a clue about MMA.

Lesnar got the nod simply because he's a former WWE "superstar".

Of course "some" fans haven't got a clue about MMA. Most fans on here don't have a clue about MMA. Are you implying they should? This is a wrestling forum, not an MMA forum. Without meaning to sound harsh, you're lucky you're getting a poll about MMA at all.

Dry your eyes (that phrase seems to be en vogue at the moment). As an MMA fan, your presence here is tolerated, understand? TOLERATED!!!!!!

He's got plenty of ability too. No-one voted for Bobby Lashley did they?

Yes, I am.

I don't have a clue about BRITWRES~, so I didn't vote in the poll. That makes sense, right?

"I" didn't get anything. The MMA poll had sod all to do with me.

I'd rather there wasn't an MMA poll if it's going to result in complete tosh like it did.

MMA fans are the guys who used to stick your gym shorts down the toilet and smack you around in front of the young ladies at school, wrestling fan.

Understand?

Glad to see the the right result in the MMA fight of the year.

Sorry, I stopped reading right around the end of that sentence, as your opinion is no longer worth reading.

Not really. BritWres is still wrestling.

That's sort of my point. I just wanted to be all confrontational about it.

This is a wrestling forum, and as such, MMA enjoys an unusual spot on here, seeing as most other forums wouldn't have it. But the downside is that a poll's going to attract uninformed opinions and/or people who just want to click a vote and/or people who want to muck about and wind up the MMA fans by voting for the most populist option, not necessarily the best one.

Most dedicated MMA fans I've met tend to be guys who WISH they could've done that, simply because they were on the receiving end of it. Something called "over-compensation", I think.

As a wrestling fan, I'm perfectly happy with my choice of entertainment, as it's motivated by nothing but enjoyment, along with my Warhammer models, sci-fi/fantasy novels, Star Trek/Doctor Who/Battlestar Galactica boxsets (all of which are paying off dividends in cool, now that everyone's watching them) and video games.

Good arrows to Butchreedmark, my favourite poster on the forum in 2009. I think a suitable prize would be for TNA to be transformed into your beloved WCW... oh, wait.

Seriously?

Any time i've been at an event, be it a UK-based MMA event, or a UFC show, it's always been the guys I described that i've seen.

I've seen a few of the ones you described (although I never got physically bullied - used to fight dirty, they didn't like it, not that I ever won, of course), but I've seen a fair mix of the ones I described, and ex-wrestling fans who've fallen out of love with wrestling, and ex-wrestling fans who try to pretend they never liked wrestling in the first place.
