Inspired by this thread, I loaded up the original Donkey Kong Country on two-player team mode with my five year old today. I’ve never really given it longer than a half hour before, but wow, he absolutely adored it! He giggled away taking over as Diddy whenever I inevitably spiked myself on a flying bug, to the point where I thought he was going to burst when he did the barrel cannons.
 

Can’t wait to give it another go soon.

Based on an extract I'd read before, I've started to read 'Man and Boy' by Tony Parsons, which was a Christmas present I requested. Really enjoyed its perspective on a dad forced to confront his failings as a parent when he makes a poor decision that causes him to become a single father, especially as a man in my mid thirties with a toddler son at a similar age to the protagonist.

I was, of course, gutted to then discover after the fact that the author is in fact a massive Tory, but I've still been enjoying the story nonetheless.

Supremo sure does bang on about wrestling, doesn't he? I don't agree with a lot of what he says, and to be honest, sometimes his praise of AEW, Sami Zayn, Bloodline etc. can border on gushing.

But damn it all if the guy doesn't just enjoy wrestling in a way that I wish more of us did. He's so effusive for a good angle that it's almost infectious. Kudos, I say. Kudos. He gets my vote.

Some part of me hopes Jey actually stays out of the actual turn. I would love it if, after all this time, the one to actually stick up for him was the one guy who was most skeptical about him the whole time. I could happily see Sami, KO and Jey taking on Roman, Jimmy and Solo into 2023.

Aside from what’s happened around the leaving of Raw and such, surely that’s actually quite a reasonable request? Especially when you consider her recent forays into the mainstream, she’s probably within her rights to consider herself on the same level as the aforementioned two women. Bit concerning that WWE upper management don’t agree.

Well it definitely isn’t getting a pass from me. IKEA is less a shop and more a relationship torture chamber, filled with meandering displays that bear little resemblance to what you actually need or want to go in for. The first four times myself and my now wife went together, we ended up having some sort of argument. It’s like a backwards Argos where 45mins of your time is spent wading through a living catalogue. Thankfully I’ve since convinced her that the most efficient way of doing things is to identify the products beforehand then sneak in through the exit and head straight to the warehouse, but I stand by my statement. Hellhole of a place. Especially the one near Leeds, because it’s near Leeds. 

Seemed like a pretty good episode this week for the go home. Announcing Becky instead of waiting til tonight is smart - she got a good pop while also ensuring there won’t be any disappointment from anyone thinking it’d be Sasha or Naomi.

There must be some sort of shenanigans planned with the men’s War Games - I hate the dynamic where the face team has the man advantage, it never seems to work properly until everyone’s in when they do that. Maybe Drew or Sheamus get beat up beforehand? Would’ve said Holland but he’s not really the guy you want coming back for the save later.
