  1. I was offered five seats behind the entrance at a total of Ā£140... should I be worried? It brings the price per seat to lower than what I thought the cheapest seats were and I'm concerned that there's going to be something wrong with it now.

They're going to have to get the belts off of Sami & KO before the Saudi show, aren't they? Do they drop them without taking the fall at B'cklash so they can have the return match sometime?Ā

Have they said that this year's Night of Champions will have every title defended? I'm wondering if it'll instead be a one night tournament to crown the WHC with a couple of other title matches peppered in, rather than every belt as they've done before.

  3. Got a notification today from GamesConnection that they have HDMI adapters for GameCube available again. I've looked before and, while they're pricey, I'm still nonetheless very interested.

From what I can tell, the main candidates are the Ā£80Ā CARBY adapter, which needs a battery, or the Ā£120Ā GCHD MK-II HD Out Adapter, which is the only one with a review on the website.

Does anyone have any experience or advice about either? The GCHD I'd heard of before so that originally caught my eye, but I then read elsewhere that the CARBY's remote control was beneficial for some reason.

  4. I sat with a copy of the Metro during his match with Harry Smith, if that counts.

Shocked at the unprecedented occurrences at the end of Saturday's show. Couldn't believe what I was seeing.

The curfew was 10:45pm, yet I was outside by 10:41!

  5. If you accept that one way or another theyā€™re going to make 6-7hrs of entertainment, two nights is definitely the best way to deal with that. I will say, though, that this year seems to be the first time I actually think theyā€™ve earned two nights, rather than just putting stuff on because the time is there. Case in point: how many people actually remember that Kevin and Sami have had a WrestleMania match against each other?

Anyway. Lacking any superlatives to explain how great this Bloodline angle has been. Itā€™s worlds apart from ā€œjust chuck Reigns and Lesnar in there againā€ from previous years.Ā

  6. Iā€™ve finally gotten on the Wrestle Me train in the last month or so and yeah, itā€™s a great experience. Might even sign up to the Patreon once Iā€™m through the currently available podcasts on their feed.Ā

Jerry even says Tripple H is having a seizure...when he could simply leave the ring to get to Austin, I think.

...did you hear the sentence before when JR loudly shouted "Austin and The Game can't have any physical contact"? IIRC as part of the match being signed they weren't allowed to touch each other.

  8. The whole show has kind of lost its appeal for me to be honest. I was never under the impression it was any sort of real business competition but at least they would throw some perfunctory tasks that gave the impression it might be relevant. This year seems to have had the most 'design a product, pitch the product' tasks that i can recall and, while the candidates are of course a total set of twats, it feels even more set up for them to fail than ever before.

That, plus whoever's started including so many false finishes on Sugar's "you're fired" wants reining in.Ā Ā

  9. There's a South Park episode where Cartman is at a fat camp secretly hawking chocolate and such to his campmates. And there's one kid who gets really upset because he can't stop himself from eating, even though he wants to. Naturally, Cartman tempts him with another candy bar and the episode goes on.

And I tear up. Because he can't help it. This poor kid is just incapable of maintaining any self control.

Of course, he doesn't exist and it's all just one of Parker/Stone's random collection of voices, but it makes me sad every time.

  10. The card for this is shaping up to be really, really strong. Lots of matches Iā€™m excited to see and even the crap or stupid ones will have their threads of intrigue. For instance, Iā€™m not fussed about seeing Edge vs. Balor, but it does at least have a proper backstory to it. Other than the terrible Wyattverse, this yearā€™s show feels like itā€™s earning its two night bill.

Tamina Snuka has wrestled for WWE for thirteen years. I bet she herself couldnā€™t even name a single thing sheā€™s done without consulting Wikipedia.

I would imagine her not being able to name specific things has been a big part of her maintaining employment.Ā

Who else is excited? What are you hoping for? Is Samiā€™s old music coming back?

They're definitely doing this, aren't they? Why else would they have kept him coming in from the crowd without having any music hit if they didn't then plan to use his proper theme?

Only alternative I considered was if they decided to use this:

Why is Ched Evans still allowed to play football?

Because being a massive cunt and a scumbag is alright if youā€™re good at kicking the ball into their goal hole. Plus his retrial found him not guilty, so now itā€™s absolutely fine that he cajoled his way into another personā€™s hotel room under false pretences to have sex with an intoxicated girl while his fiancĆ©e was elsewhere.

Good at doing goals though, isnā€™t he?

  14. Inspired by this thread, I loaded up the original Donkey Kong Country on two-player team mode with my five year old today. Iā€™ve never really given it longer than a half hour before, but wow, he absolutely adored it! He giggled away taking over as Diddy whenever I inevitably spiked myself on a flying bug, to the point where I thought he was going to burst when he did the barrel cannons.

Canā€™t wait to give it another go soon.

  15. Based on an extract I'd read before, I've started to read 'Man and Boy' by Tony Parsons, which was a Christmas present I requested. Really enjoyed its perspective on a dad forced to confront his failings as a parent when he makes a poor decision that causes him to become a single father, especially as a man in my mid thirties with a toddler son at a similar age to the protagonist.

I was, of course, gutted to then discover after the fact that the author is in fact a massive Tory, but I've still been enjoying the story nonetheless.
