  1. Thereā€™s a very wholesome and supportive dads group based around the wonderful Aussie import ā€˜Blueyā€™ on CBeebies. For the uninitiated, the show is about a family of anthropomorphic dogs who live in Brisbane, and generally focuses around the two daughters Bluey and Bingo. However Bandit, the dad, has become a breakout star thanks to being the sort of parent most of us aspire to be, and so the show seems to have really resonated with fathers of children of a certain age. Somehow, a Facebook group full of predominately middle-aged men has become a very positive space overall.

(Incidentally, if you have kids of around age 0-7, Iā€™d highly recommend Blueyā€¦ or even if you donā€™t)

Did Rousey have any other really good matches in her first WWE run after the tag with Angle vs Triple H and Stephanie at Mania?

Honestly, most of her run was quite good. She had a solid match with Charlotte at Survivor Series, a couple of decent ones with Alexa Bliss, and a match with Sasha Banks at the Royal Rumble that was enjoyable. Hit was soured by the ending to the Mania main event, but overall her in-ring contests worked very well.

Whether they are over with the kids or not is a different argument, but they certainly are catered to the kids.

Oh, I think that certainly has been true as recently as about seven or eight years ago, but the weird thing is I'm not even sure that is true anymore. To be honest I'd prefer if it was - as much as plenty of the 'regular' types were quick to bemoan the advent of PG, I'd say things felt a lot more focused when it was clear that was WWE's target audience. If anything I think it's hard to figure out just where they're aiming of late, although I will agree that there certainly seem to be a fair few toy adverts on YouTube I've noticed. Either way, I've yet to see anything that suggests they're actually reaching this younger audience that some have suggested they are.

WWE is TikTok, weā€™re all wondering where all the famous people went because we donā€™t know a single person on Iā€™m A Celebrity or watch Love Island.Ā

You keep saying this, but I donā€™t ever see any actual evidence for it. Ratings are skewed towards the oldest generation weā€™ve ever seen, and that includes NXT ā€˜2.0ā€™ (which we all know is really 3.0 as theyā€™re discounting the best NXT with Husky Harris carrying barrels in the glory days). Their YouTube videos fluctuate wildly. Who is this young audience youā€™re so confident theyā€™re reaching, and where are they reaching them? Iā€™m genuinely curious as to what makes you so sure thatā€™s what is happening.

  5. Called up to the main roster. Hit with two separate pies on the same episode of SmackDown. Lost her title match to Charlotte Flair. Released only a month before the company will surely need at least 30 female competitors for a Royal Rumble. How utterly bizarre this company is.Ā

This is what really bores and frustrates me about Cody: this idea he has that heā€™s somehow revolutionary. He did an interview a couple months ago where he was blabbering on about ā€œthe challenge for me now is to go in a direction that perhaps no wrestler has gone before. I donā€™t come out of eitherĀ tunnel, if thatā€™s probably the best way to put itā€. He acts like heā€™s transcending wrestling instead of simply obfuscating everything he touches. Itā€™s not half as clever as he seems to think.

  7. The recap I read of this show had this to sayā€¦

ā€œWas not expecting for Cody to get the championship and before people get upset we need to remember how much the Rhodes family meant to the territories back in the day. Not justifying it but helping make sense.ā€

and now I want to vomit.

  8. I assume itā€™s to make a point along the lines of ā€œhey everyone, Iā€™m not going to be one of those promoters who puts themselves at the top of the card and takes focus away from the others. Look, Iā€™m not even allowed to challenge for the title! Ever!ā€

    He sure showed them.

  9. I could watch the odd couple of Sami Zayn and Brock Lesnar for a far, far longer time than anyone else on this show. Itā€™s mad to me that Brock doesnā€™t like cutting promos, because heā€™s one of the only people who is actually able to do it believably. Presumably because they donā€™t shove a script on him in the same way they do everybody else.

In other news: a last minute Mitrovic winner to stop old Rapey McRapeface from qualifying for the World Cup is it? You love to see it.Ā

Nice bit of redemption for him after failing to score the penalty against Scotland last time. Of course, inevitably this means we'll now draw Cristiano's Portugal and he'll tear us a new one.
