  1. Khan doesn't deserve to face Mayweather, no matter how much he tries to talk or throw shots and tell the world he would do this, do this, too much speed, power etc, the guy is a fool. He may wanna focus on rematching some of those losses he suffered, he seems to think beating a average Collazo who is mainly known for giving Hatton a close fight seven years ago gives him a shot, but then saying that he side stepped a fight against Alexander in the hope he would get Mayweather in May, Maidana beats Broner and the rest as they say is history. I'm not sure who is next for Mayweather, I do think Cotto in a rematch will happen in one of his last two fights on the Showtime contract, but that also depends on what happens on a Canelo/Cotto fight as that is without doubt one of the biggest money fights out there right now. For the Pacquiao fight to happen the rematch against Maidana needs to draw bad and then Showtime who are paying Mayweather a fortune will need to get involved. The fact Kerry was asking Mayweather about Pacquaio clear as day for the first time after one of his fights since Showtime signed Floyd shows me they want the fight as they know it's by far the biggest money drawing fight in history. I only want to see him face Pacquiao, only other option where I might have interest is a fight against Thurman.

  2. Mayweather won at a counter, Maidana trying to be more of a boxer which wasn't going to help all that much and add the fact no way the ref was going to allow him to get away with the under handed tactics he got away with in the first fight. I didn't think it was close. I had it 9-3 to Mayweather. Now we have to wait to see who is next, I was happy Showtime at least asked him about Pacquiao, but hearing after it needs to be on Showtime, has to be promoted by TMT, I dunno, his options are running out in terms of marketing and PPV buys. Pac doesn't fight till November, the PPV figures for this fight will come out beforehand and I believe they will dictate his next opponent is. If they come out not at the level hoped there is more chance of the ultimate fight happening, if not I'm not sure who it will be, possibly Khan depending if he fights again this year and also if he is to fight Brook next summer. Maybe a Cotto rematch at 154lbs, add Cotto's Middleweight title and it would mean Mayweather becoming a champion at a sixth different weight and a fight that will generate money and also one he is sure of winning and adding more history to his legacy.

  3. I can't believe whoever is the ref this time is going to allow some of the stuff that happened in the first fight to take place. I got no doubt Maidana will try the same tactics but be smarter when it comes to unloading as he usually gasses in the second half of fights. For me, Mayweather wins again, more convincingly and goes on to victim 48 next May.

About Mayweather looking drawn at the press conference etc, he did  in someways but I have seen him look like that before and he has been fine. At some point, of course age may catch up with him, as will the hard work he puts in, but if he had any doubts about this fight he either wouldn't have made the rematch happened or he will come in tomorrow night purposely overweight and what they going to do? Cancel the fight? Not a chance, so he will be fine.

  4. I can't seem to find anywhere if the Broner vs Taylor card is being shown live over here, I looked at box nation schedule and website and they have nothing done, anyone got any ideas? If both Broner and Matthysse come through their respective fights as expected, it seems likely they will meet each other next. Broner to win by late stoppage or UD, Matthysse by stoppage halfway through.

The Frampton/Martinez II is going to be some atmosphere if the weigh in is anything to go by. New stadium built for the fight, 16,000 tickets all sold out, going to be some night. I expect Frampton to come through once again, not sure if he will get a late stoppage like in the first fight or on UD, but he will take it and win the IBF world title.

  5. The next heavyweight champion of the real  Shannon Briggs continues to stalk Wladimir Klitschko:

I wanna say it's staged but Wlad just doesn't seem like the guy who would waste his time, his reactions to Briggs though are priceless. I dunno anymore, one thing for sure, Briggs has lost the plot but I give the guy his due, he has somehow gotten himself into incredible shape. Need to start a petition for Briggs getting the next title shot, I mean he will take a beating but the press conferences and build up will be too funny.

  6. Kovalev beat Caparello by stoppage after being put down in the first round to set up a fight a unification title fight with Hopkins for November 8th. All credit in the world to B-Hop to be willing to step up to fight a guy most don't want to go near. It's also good for the sport that he is going to fight Kovalev on the HBO network seeing as he is with Golden Boy who's fighter fight on Showtime.

  7. GGG knocked Geale down with a clubbing right hand in the third round, he done well to get up, ref asked him if he wanted anymore and he shook his head. Geale knew only one way that fight was going and that was more pain. Not sure who will be next for Golovkin, Cotto and Canelo are both very good fighters, warriors. Cotto has become smart business man in recent years and unless offered a fortune I don't see him stepping up to the plate, I think Canelo would but he has De La Hoya behind him and I can't see him allowing it to happen. Same as what I said about Martinez awhile ago, run and duck Golovkin at all costs. The risks far exceed the money you will get for stepping in the ring with him. I only see one fighter at 154, 160 or 168 who could beat him and that is Andre Ward. Froch himself has said on record that he does not want to face him. Chavez Jnr talked about it, his team were in negotiations and suddenly he ran talking to Haymon and Showtime.

GGG for me = The Baddest Man On The Planet.

  8. Roy Jones Jr is back, he just beat Courtney Fry by corner pulling Fry out in fifth round after he took too many blows. Wonder what's next for Roy, he thinks he can still win a world title at Cruiserweight.

  9. His only loss was to Pulev who is fighting Klitschko next. A completely different fight to what it would have been like for Fury against Chisora, good preparation though for a possible fight down the line against Klitschko. I can't remember Fury ever fighting someone as tall, I've always felt like he would fight better against someone who is of a similar size instead of guys who are smaller that he has to punch down at and also the fact that the smaller guys can generate more power when swinging and punching upwards. Should be good fun.

  10. Not surprised Peter Fury shot down Tony Thompson, southpaw, tricky, very dangerous on short notice, not Fraudley, it can't be Fraudley, messed up thing is I think I'd pay to see him get whooped lol

  11. Oh yeah, I think Canelo would beat Cotto, that's maybe biggest fight out there in terms of cash besides Mayweather vs Pacquiao, Canelo be well advised to stay away from GGG, he will get packed in.

  12. I read something the other day as well, that Mayweather has two fights left of his career. And after the Maidana rematch he's looking at going out on a fight with Cotto or Pacquiao. A) is either of those fights realistic? I could see a Cotto rematch but I've given up on Floyd vs Manny. And B) is it really two fights and that's it for Floyd, do we reckon? The article I read (can't find it now) said it as if it's definite. He's retired before and come back though. I just get the feeling if he comes out and outclasses Maidana this time, then beats Cotto again say, or fuck it beats Pacquiao, I'd say he should retire with his perfect record intact but I've got a feeling he won't. There'll always be another payday. Look at the business the Canelo fight did, few impressive wins for Canelo and that rematch could be massive. There's the Amir Khan fight as well. I have a hard time imagining Floyd walking away leaving money on the table while he's still fighting so good.

After the Maidana rematch Floyd has two fights left on his contract with Showtime which you would expect if he wins his next three fights he will be at 49-0. Will he rest at sharing that record with Marciano or will he want to go out at 50-0. I think he will want to go out at 50-0 and use that as reasoning for why he is TBE 'The Best Ever'. He said in a interview a few weeks ago that he would be disappointed if the Pacquaio fight ever happened, that says to me he doesn't want it but it could happen and the only reason will be money. Hopefully the rematch with Maidana flops on the PPV side, it did 900k last time which for anyone else would be great, but for Floyd with the money he is getting paid it isn't good enough. The only way I see him facing Pac is if he has no other choice. I don't ever see a rematch with Canelo happening, no way Canelo would fight at 152lbs again and after their first fight, regardless if one judge somehow saw it as a draw, everyone knows Canelo got completely schooled.

  13. I had Canelo by a point but it was very close, with a fight like that you would expect when it comes down to it that the judges will go with the guy who was the aggressor. Lara didn't just run, he mixed it up well but needed as has been mentioned to be more aggressive. I doubt there will be a rematch, looks like Canelo vs Kirkland next, that be a fun fight.

  14. Only fight that makes sense for that date, hopefully doesn't do well on the PPV side to give more hope of a fight against Pacquiao at some point down the line. Mayweather will make a few adjustments from the first fight and win comfortably on points.

  15. didn't your Sky go off? i lost round 6-10 :( what i did see though was Ricky Burns get absolutely smashed any time he attempted to throw his right hand, the sky team brought it up also but Burns habit of falling against the ropes and just covering up is a really weird thing, he's done in constantly in his past few fights.

I was at family's house who don't have Sky Sports so I ended up watching on my laptop through a foreign stream and it fortunately never cut off for me like it did for you and everyone else watching on Sky Sports. That is a long time for it to cut off for.

What a fight between Crawford and Gamboa last night. My fav fight of the year so far, Crawford ended up winning by stoppage in the ninth round but just a wild, fun fight. I was surprised by how attacking Crawford was, not how he usually fights but he bought it full on here. Both took punishment, Gamboa more so and showed great heart to get up the amount of times he had too. Gamboa started off better and Crawford was struggling with his speed, but as soon as Crawford hit a huge shot in the fifth round he took control and the power was too much for Gamboa in the end.

  16. Burns gets beat again, not sure what has happened to him since beating Kasidas but he looks done now at world level. I had Zlaticanin by a couple of rounds, there are still big British fights out there for him, good pay days. New fresh team didn't seem to help much, being fair the start was awful.

  17. I got no doubt Lesnar is wrestling at Summerslam for the title. No whether Bryan comes back inbetween and wins the title so he can be the one as for me he is the obvious choice but with the injury he picked up can't be sure on his return. I think Cena will end up winning the title and it be him and Lesnar again.

  18. Lomachenko vs Russell Jr was a good fight, when I heard majority decision read out I did think for a second we might get the wrong winner, but thankfully two judges cancelled out one who had the fight a draw(Not sure how they came to that conclusion but not surprising) I thought Lomachenko was superb, started much quicker then in his previous fight and his body shots throughout were a serious weapon. Russell Jr success rate was no wear near good enough and the fact he isn't that big of a puncher doesn't help either. I had Lomachenko winning by 6 and he has now equalled Muangsurin record of winning a world title in his third pro fight. Fantastic achievement by him and fully deserved win here. Not sure who will be next for him but so many great fights to be made

  19. So we got Lomachenko vs Russell Jr this Saturday night for the vacant WBO Featherweight Championship, the return of "The Ghost" Robert Guerrero and Alexander vs Karass. The fight between Lomachenko vs Russell Jr is a fight I'm finding hard to predict a winner in, at a push I am going to go with Lomachenko taking it on a close points decision.

  20. Stunning performance from Cotto, wish I had waited till watching at least a minute of the fight before making my prediction. Cotto dominated from start to finish, seem to hurt Martinez every time he connected, corner were right to stop it when they did, he had no hope and was only going to take more punishment. Hoprfully Cotto vs GGG next, if not that a fight against Canelo would be huge, especially from a financial aspect, taking out a Mayweather or Pacquiao fight that has to be one of the biggest drawing fights that can be made right about now. Congrats to Cotto on making history, he did it in style.

  21. Of course he fought well against Mayweather when he lost, but don't forget after that fight Trout schooled and beat him easy at 154lbs couple fights ago.

I forgot about the Trout fight for some reason

To be honest it's easily done as in the build up I can't remember it being mentioned, a bit like the build up to Mayweather/Maidana, you hear a lot about Maidana loss to Khan as it was a close, exciting fight but not one mention of Alexander completely outclassing Maidana after that fight.

Cotto weighed in at 155lbs, Martinez came in at 158 3/4. Both looked good, hopefully we get a great fight. There are three fights on beforehand that start from 02:00am UK time, so earliest the main event will start is about 04:00am.
