I have to say Meltzer fucking hating so much of the weekend to the point his tweets became like live updates from a radio station about travel updates was fucking amazing. The guy makes being a twat so entertaining for us all.Â
He forgets that not everything in wrestling has to be an x amount of stars flips and finisher fest

Very very satisfied with the entire weekend from WWE, Night 1 was better from a wrestling stand point but last night was great from a âmomentsâ stand point
That said my matches of the weekend were Becky/Bianca from Saturday and Knoxville/Sami from last night for those reasons
The only real bummers for me were the SD Tag Title match because of Boogzâ injury, New Day v Weaky Blinders for being an utter burial and Omos/Lashley

Thought it was a great show overall, considering the show was given an late morning/early afternoon time slot over there with 1/2 surprise booking decisions

Night Fever was great Saturday night telly, used to have the UEFA Cup rights for English teams as well, most of Evertonâs 2007/08 run was shown by them bar the Fiorentina tie which went to ITV

As is the case every year, COVID aside, Wrestlemania weekend isnât just about WWE as other companies both major and Indy use the weekend to put on their own events, usually in partnership with the Wrestlecon convention. This is the guide for the key events, most of which will be broadcast on Fite TV
Thursday 31st March
The first Indy event of the weekend is presented by GCW with Josh Barnetâs Bloodsport 8. The feature matches on the card include AEWâs Jon Moxley take on the former Oney Lorcan, Biff Busick, the legendary Minoru Suzuki taking on Chris Dickinson, Barnett himself faces Impactâs JONAH, formally Bronson Reed in NXT while thereâs a battle of two former WWE names as John Hennigan faces Simon Gotch
Next up is AAAâs offering as they present AAA Invades Wrestlecon which has a double main event of Laredo Kid defending his AAA Cruiserweight title against ROH champion Bandido and Flamita while La Rebelion defend the NWA World Tag Team titles against former Lucha Underground favourites Drago and Aero Star
MLW are taping a special called Intimidation Games to air at a later date on BeIn which will have a main event of MLW Heavyweight champion Alex Hammerstone defending against Jacob Fatu and Mads Kruger
New promotion Control Your Narrative hold their second show Awakening - Dallas which features Adam Scheer and EC3 take on Eric Redbeard and Big Damo, Austin Aries against Westin Blake, Killer Kross against Vincent and Flip Gordon v Dirty Dango
The second offering from GCW is Joey Janellaâs Spring Break 6 Part 1 which has a main event of Mox defending the GCW title against AJ Gray, Nick Gage and Matt Tremont defending the GCW Tag titles against The Briscoes and the team of Mance Warner and Matthew Justice, Janella himself faces WWE Hall of Famer Sean Waltman while Mickie James faces Allie Katch
The final show of the day is the annual Wrestlecon Mark Hitchcock Memorial Supershow, featuring Suzuki v Busick, Tomohiro Ishii v Timothy Thatcher, the Briscoes against Low Ki and Homicide, a battle of 2 former WWE women as Mia Yim faces the former Ember Moon, Athena and a battle of the sexes as John Hennigan faces wife Taya ValkyrieÂ
Friday 1st April
Day 2 begins with another GCW offering in Zicky Diceâs Trouble In Paradise 2 which features Scotty 2 Hotty against Rich Swann, Effy against Speedball Mike Bailey and Black Taurus against Lince Dorado
New Japan are next up with their US brand Strong presenting Lone Star Shootout, featuring Ishii v Dickinson, Jay White v Bailey and Suzuki v Kross
The main feature of Friday night is the return of Ring of Honor, who begin the new era under Tony Khan with Supercard Of Honor the main event of which will unify the two Ring of Honor World Title belts as Jonathan Gresham, who won his version at Final Battle, faces Bandido who had to miss the event due to travel issues. Elsewhere the 12 time ROH Tag Team champions the Briscoes defend against AEWâs FTR after their face off at the last event, another AEW talent in Wheeler Yuta challenges Josh Woods for his Pure title while an interim Womenâs champion will be crowed, due to Deonna Purrazzoâs unavailability, as Willow Nightingale faces Mercedes Martinez
The other big show comes from Impact Wrestling with Multiverse Of Matches, the main event sees the NWAâs Nick Aldis compete in an Impact ring for the first time in 5 years, teaming with wife Mickie James to face NWA World and Impact Digital Media champion Matt Cardona and his wife Chelsea Green. Trey Miguel defends the X Division title in Ultimate X against Rich Swann, Jordynne Grace, Vincent, Chris Bey and Blake Christian, Impact Tag Team champions the Good Brothers face the Briscoes, Impact World champion Moose teams with HNMâs PCO to face Josh Alexander and Jonah, Jay White faces Chris Sabin and The Influence defend the Knockouts Tag Team titles against Impact Knockouts champion Tasha Steelz and Savannah Evans, Decay and the team of Lady Frost and Gisele Shaw
Impact follow this up by opening the vaults to another show from the Impact Provincial Wresting FederationÂ
The final show of the night is part 2 of Joey Janellaâs Spring Break 6 which features the traditional Clusterfuck Battle Royal, Matt Cardona v Chris Dickinson, Minoru Suzuki v Effy and Mike Bailey v PCO
Saturday 2nd April
Not much happening for Day 3 as, understandably focus will be on NXT and Night 1 of WrestlemaniaÂ
Wrestlecon presents a supershow dubbed USA vs The World, which features 2 title matches, the UKâs own Rev/Pro will see their British Cruiserweight champion Michael Oku defend the title against Rich Swann while the Warrior Wrestling Tag Team titles are on the line as Sam Adonis and La Hiedra face Mr Iguana and Abismo Negro JrÂ

Again: if you speak regularly to his dad, and apparently have enough contacts with other people who know him that they can give you extensive details of his business ventures, why would you think strangers online would be a better source of information than them? And why are you so desperate to hang out with a thieving nonce anyway?
Because he is the thieving nonce most likely and trying (badly) to disguise the fact with some made up horse shit
-
Lashley vs Omos added to the Sunday card and, unless something else gets added on Smackdown, is the final match announcement for Mania
-
Rollins against someone who may or may not be Cody and The New Day against Sheamus and Ridge have been added to the Saturday line up (the latter may be the pre show match that night)
-
Currently watching the classic Roger Corman version of The Raven, starring Vincent Price, Peter Lorre and Boris Karloff as part of TPTVâs Cellar Club block, first time watch as Iâve been trying to get it for years and put off buying it

Gutting but not surprising reading how serious the heart issue was. Some great moments in the ring and a big legacy outside the ring with how NXT evolved from the game show format to its own thing
I hope he can return to a non in-ring role but if he gives it up for good I wouldnât blame him, especially for Stephanie and their girlsâ sake, they must have been so terrified when it happenedÂ

Not sure on that unless it's in Saudi.
MITB will be early July and in the Las Vegas NFL stadium they held last year's SummerSlam.
SummerSlam end of July is going to be in the Nashville NFL stadium.
Now this UK PPV in the Millenium Stadium.
They're going all out on stadium scale PPVs this year.

Heartbroken, for how well he done getting over his demons and being at his happiest to have that taken away so so tragically from a simple hip surgeryÂ
I really really regret not going up and paying for an autograph from him at the first For The Love Of Wrestling convention 2 years ago, my nerves got the best of me that day just merely seeing him and Big Kev up closeÂ
I think at some point this week, once I can process it, Iâm going to dig out as many of his matches as I can to watch in tribute
RIP Chico, thank you for the memories

Hard not to get a lump in the throat reading Big Kevâs post, praying for the biggest miracle of all time but itâs unlikely to happen đ

Watching The Batman in the cinema yesterday, during a scene that I had seen being shot outside St Georges Hall in Liverpool, there was an amusing, to me anyway, editing error as during an overhead shot of the crowd there was the visible presence of a MerseyTravel bus stop that used to be located outside the venue before it was removed during the butchered and ongoing roadworks being done on Lime StreetÂ

Was never one for drinking in the park, being a holier than thou goodie two shoes so my early experiences of drinking were being allowed 1-2 Bacardi Breezers at family parties when I was 13/14 then my first proper hammering was the legendary night out in Paris on a school trip when our French and IT teachers chaperoned our entire French class (and a couple of hanger ons) to an Australian themed bar where we were buying 10-15 Franc pitchers of Fosters by the bulk (like 5 pitchers per round)Â which resulted in one of the lads talking to a statue at the end of the bar like he was an patron, 2 lads getting slapped for hitting on girls and 2 of my mates being ill outside the bar and accidentally bending palm trees over by leaning too hard on them, also discovered my toleration for booze as I'd virtually sobered up by the time we got back to our hotel (despite knocking back several pints) and casually strolled down to the local market the next morning for a bottle of Sunny D while the rest of the group were struggling to even stare into the lights of the lounge area. It also led to the rumour weeks later that the oldest looking of the lads had shagged the French teacher (who was fit btw) and knocked her up

I'm partial to the Chicago Town frozen pizzas, my go too's being the Cheesy Ham and Bacon Tiger Crust, the Honey BBQ Salami Tomato Stuffed Crust or the Loaded Pepperoni Tomato Stuffed Crust, the latter drizzled with maple syrup once cooked
On the odd occasion I get a Dominos I get either the Meateor or the New Yorker
I've not had an Asda create your own in years but when I did I got it with ham, chicken, pepperoni and spicy beef
My local pizza place does a really nice but greasy meat feast comprised of doner meat, chicken, pepperoni and turkey ham

Imagine the scene. Scott & Rick go into the Hall Of Fame on the Friday (allegedly) then their boy Bron wins the belt from Ziggles over the Mania weekend. What a great feel good story. Hopefully it's only Rick that turns up to accept as I dread to think what Scott's acceptance speech would be like. Probably delivered in Morse code.Â
I wonder if thatâs part of the reason theyâre doing the HoF after Smackdown so they can get the bleeper ready for the amount of F bombs Scotty drops

Itâs such a WWE move that after heralding NXT 2.0 as this place where new stars are made and they are getting rid of all the old and stale talent on the roster theyÂ
Hide contentsPut the NXT title on Dolph Ziggler. Canât wait for Kofi to get brought down there for a really fresh feud.Â
Â
It makes sense from a booking perspective though, a short reign through to Mania weekend then put Bron over in front of NXTâs biggest crowd in 2 yearsÂ
