  1. It shows how high WWE are on Samantha that she’s been given the sole ring announcing duty for both nights rather than being split with Mike Rome

I usually love Pat on commentary but good Lord by the end he was really starting to grate on me, they should have really had Barrett there instead of having him at NXT for a calmer voice

  2. Kudos to the BBC for a fantastic first series, it felt every week like the true successor to the ITV run and I eagerly await series 2

I would like to see more of a variety of games next time though, and some more of the older games return

  3. WWE - Raw and Smackdown clips on YouTube, NXT and PLEs in full on the Network

AEW - Dynamite in full on ITV X, PPVs in full, don’t watch Rampage, Collision or the Battle of the Belts specials

    ROH - PPVs only

TNA - X clips of moments from Impact, occasionally the specials/PPVs

  4. My Uncle’s wife holds a massive grudge against all our side of the family for the most pettiest of reasons, that being my Nan and Granddad throwing him a welcome home do when he came back from the Falkland War in the early 80s when she wanted his attention to herself.

It’s stretched as far as my generation being punished by not having any relationship with our cousins for over 15 years (and by proxy the eldest’s young son not mixing with my cousin’s and sister’s kids) as she and they never came with my uncle to family events, in fact the last time we actually saw my aunt was at my dad’s funeral 8 years ago

  5. A couple of weeks back I was in Manchester for For The Love of Wrestling, on the Sunday I was killing time in the city centre before my train home and popped into Aldi in the Arndale to look for these marshmallow brownie bites my mum likes, as I was leaving I walked down the booze aisle which was half cut off by a stock pallet, as I squeezed through I heard a clatter and turned round in horror to see two wine bottles fall off the shelf, one of which smashed, only bloody went and knocked them with my travel holdall didn’t I?

Turned bright red, apologised profusely to the staff member, who kept saying ‘don’t worry about it it’s fine’ and I walked out quick as I could with my head down in shame and probably won’t ever shop there again whenever I go up there

  6. Have they explained why Eddie’s now defending the belts separately instead of as the Crown? As he’s also lined up to only defending the ROH title against Mark Briscoe at Supercard of Honor which, assuming he loses tonight and then, would only leave him with the NJPW Strong belt

  7. Bart Gunn has to be up here surely? Went from a high profile Tag Title match with Billy against Owen and Yokozuna at 11 to not making the card at all at 12 and 13 then appeared in the Tag Team Battle Royal that opened 14 (albeit in the failed New Midnight Express gimmick with Bob Holly) before getting knocked out in embarrassing fashion by Butterbean at 15

  8. First sign of a cold, I start taking echinacea tablets, 2 tabs 2-3 times a day coupled with a vitamin C and vitamin D tablet every morning, that always seems to do the trick

    Vader in the WWF.

If they hadn’t had such a boner for “Bret vs Shawn at Mania for the belt would be the best match ever1!!1” despite both being babyfaces, and stuck to the company formula of heels transitioning the belt between your heroes, he’d have been the perfect monster to cripple Bret so he can go film Lonesome Dove or whatever and then have Shawn chase him and effectively recreate the Vader vs Sting rivalry with Shawn as the hero. Thinking about the best Bret vs Vader interactions from their singles matches on Raw and in the Final Four, it’s a hell of a grudge match when Bret comes back and you can still do Bret vs Austin later too.

Although if the butterfly effect here causes Sid to not win the title, forget it.

It’s an interesting thought as so much of 96 would change

Royal Rumble - Vader debuts and wins the match instead of Michaels

In Your House 6 - card stays the same, except the Michaels/Owen match doesn’t have the WM shot on the line, the Taker spot still happens in the main but Vader attacks Bret as he drops from the cage

Wrestlemania - Yokozuna doesn’t turn face so the 6 man becomes Owen/Davey/Yoko vs Ahmed/Jake/Michaels, Bret goes into the main injured after Vader attacks him again during the contract signing on Raw, puts a typically gutsy fight up but Vader wins handily then continues to punish post match only for Michaels to come to Bret’s aid

In Your House 7 - with unanimous support, Michaels had pleaded for a title shot only for Cornette to not grant it unless he gets through the Camp. He beats Yoko by DQ here with the finish they (irl) did at KOTR with Ahmed and Warrior making the save

King Of The Ring - the Michaels/Davey match still goes ahead, sans title, but with a No DQ stip thanks to Gorilla Monsoon, Shawn wins sparking a post match beatdown on he, Warrior and Ahmed by Camp Cornette when Sid makes his return to even the odds

In Your House 8 - the 6 man we got, turns into an 8 man with Camp Cornette against Shawn and co (in this timeline Warrior doesn’t leg it yet) with a reverse of Michaels pinning Vader to show it’s doable

Summerslam - the title change happens to a massive pop and Michaels has a more crowd friendly title run where he doesn’t end up getting booed at MSG at Survivor Series against a now heel Sid

  10. First Mania - WM6 The Ultimate Challenge between the two biggest babyfaces of the time

Favourite Mania - 17, just the quintessential show

Have you Been? - no not yet, it’s one of the last items on my bucket list

Best/Worst Matches - best for me are Savage v Steamboat at 3, Bret v Owen at 10, TLC 2 at 17 and Michaels v Angle at 21

worst are the bulk of the WM4 card, Crush v Doink at 9 and Big Show v Akebono at 21

Best/Worst Moments - best moments, Bryan winning the big one at 30, the gimmick battle royal at 17 being a fun nostalgia trip, Kofi getting a long overdue shot at the big one at 35

worst moments, Hogan’s ego at 9 burying both Bret and Yokozuna, the ending to 20 consigned to the vault because of what happened 3 years later, Vince McRapist against Pat McAfee 2 years ago

Favorite Theme - for Nostalgia, the 6-8 one

Favorite Announcer Call - ‘I can’t believe Hogan would stoop to that level’ Ventura as Hulk helps Macho Man win the title at 4

’by the time he gets to the ring it’ll be WM38’ one of the last funny lines Bobby Heenan could make before cancer wrecked his voice, about Sheiky baby’s entrance at 17

’The miracle kid, the miracle kid, a miracle on Bourbon Street’ Michael Cole after Bryan had tapped out Batista at 30 to win the title

  11. Picked up the first issue of the new Thundercats reboot at the weekend, it’s a pretty good start, basically a loose retelling of the first episode of the original cartoon but without Snarf (yet). All the main crew get updated looks, the funniest being Tygra’s fur branching out like a handlebar moustache and they encounter Slithe for the first time

  12. Sting was my Hogan as far as having a favourite in WCW, so it was emotional for me as a near 40 year old ‘little Stinger’ seeing him going out on an absolute high last night. The whole match was just perfection, from the entrance with his sons as the Surfer and Wolfpac versions of himself to the boys’ incredible attempts at the Stinger Splash to Darby’s incredible stupid glass bump to the Icon getting the win with the Deathlock all soundtracked by two absolute GOATs of commentary (and Excalibur)

Did the green shirt "superfan" (sorry feel sick using that phrase unless it's old Vlad) make it over to Australia? Every PPV I watch I'm still amazed he's there in roughly the same seat

No he’s been replaced by a new fan, the ‘Trini-Man’, a guy with the Trinidad and Tobago flag on his shirt

  14. The Undertaker vs Underfaker match at Summerslam 94, typical Taker vs big guy match made hilarious by Brian Lee’s attempts at doing his moves

Likewise the Kane vs Imposter Kane match though Gallows did a better job at mimicking Kane than Lee did Taker

I love a sausage roll and a steak bake as much as anyone...but fuck me imagine being a grown adult and wearing that shite

You’d be amazed how popular it’s been, mainly the crocs, hoodies and snuddies

As I've seen this thread has popped up again I'll reiterate my disdain for Primark. It's been a year now since I had the displeasure again but was not surprised to see it's even worse than ever. Clothes looked absolute shite, what's with all the Gregg's stuff? Still smells, disorganised and unhelpful. Once again I was made to wait for the other half to spend 2 hours in there this time while entertaining our 1 year old who was freezing cold. Next visits in July so at least I can take him to the park or something while she wastes her holiday.

We have a licensing partnership with Greggs, started with just merchandise but it’s expanded to the point that certain bigger stores across the country, such as the one I work at, have a Greggs cafe in store

He had the kid signing autographs! He is him. Everything they always wanted John Cena to be.

This man should be beating Rock and then Roman on successive nights, clean.

Side note to that, the lady who’s tweet you’ve posted, Tiffany, is an absolute gem of a human herself and doesn’t deserve a 10th of a lot of the hate she gets for being not only a Cody superfan but also a friend of the Rhodes family

  18. Gets to the same point as last year, two Cross Rhodes, sets up the third, Solo gets on apron to hit the spike only for Seth or someone on Team Cody to stop him sparking a melee. Roman tries to take advantage but misses the Superman Punch, Cody gives him a flip, flop and fly, points to above and hits the Bionic Elbow followed by a third Cross Rhodes for the win as Rock watches on

  19. I’d saw many holiday camp shows that I barely remember who was on when I was younger but the first proper show I vividly remember was a show at Everton Park Sports Centre in 1994ish which was headlined by Davey Boy in between leaving WCW and going back to WWE

I also have the sad distinction of being present for Yokozuna’s last match at the Liverpool Empire when he teamed with Greg Valentine in the main event

My first ‘Big League’ show wasn’t until 2009, the post Wrestlemania tour by WWE which had a cracking Punk/Jericho match that featured a post match run in by Ricky Steamboat and a main event of Cena and Mysterio vs Edge and Big Show

I quite like Saracen, not sure why.

Because he was simply the coolest of the male Glads, tough but super nice. Don’t think Sara had a cross word at any point, he was definitely my favourite back in the day to the point I had his action figure

  21. The show is just getting better and better each week, showing just how much of a piss poor job Sky did with their reboot, outside of giving the wrestling world Mason Ryan and the best WWE GM in recent memory Nick Aldis

  22. Yeah very fun show, and the Melo turn, while hugely telegraphed over the last few weeks, was well executed. The temptation will be there to do the match between Melo and Trick on the Roadblock special in 4 weeks but I think it’s better kept for Stand and Deliver and have it as Melo’s blowoff before going to the main roster properly after Mania
