Is anyone else going to For The Love Of Horror in a few weeks? I've never been to a convention as big as it before. I'm a bit nervous but also really looking forward to it.

I’m not but I’ve heard the Horror one is good, it’s part of Monopoly Events stable of shows so they’re always fun events

  2. Is there anyone in wrestling that can be so deep into veteran-hood and still look as terrifyingly badass as Muta? That mask/paint combination looked so so cool and the fact that he showed up to help one of his greatest American opponents in the Stinger was just *chefs kiss*

  3. 20 years after he originally suggested it, Papa H finally gets a War Games match at Survivor Series. The NXT ones have been good to great since the match was brought into WWE in 2017 so I’m very excited to see what the main roster ones have in store

Are the large chains who are (or have) shut paying their staff making them take leave?

We (Primark) don’t know yet, we only got told we were definitely closed funeral day today despite a company spokesman letting the media know all our stores were going to be closed on that day yesterday

  5. Gallus, Tyler, Blair and a few others will be kept on just to pad out the 2.0 roster till the Europe reset I’d imagine, especially now that Vinci, Sikoa and likely Legado del Fantasma and Indi Hartwell are getting called to the main roster

Where’s your local chippy, @RIDDUM_N_STYLE? If you’re near the area, I’d recommend Byrne’s on Stuart Road (not far from Goodison). Best chippy in Liverpool for generations and worth queuing up for, which is quite common. They’ve got one on Muirhead Avenue as well, not far from West Derby village, if that’s handier.

Happy Villa on Priory Road mate

  7. Pretty much, I’ve just always referred them as chippys as that’s how I was grew up on, it’s roughly 50/50 mix of traditional chippy and Chinese food. I do get the big standard fish or sausage/pie dinners, I just prefer their chicken wings. Apologies for the offence chaps

  8. Had a chippy for the first time in a while tonight, and it’ll be the last till Christmas as our local has really jacked the prices up

I got my usual order of salt and pepper wings,  chips and curry sauce while my mum got a chow mien (and had some of my chips) and it came to nearly £20 (£8.50 for the chow mein, £7.50 for the wings, £2 for a ‘small’ chips and £1.70 for the curry)

    Still demolished it mind

  9. I thought it was a great show, even if it did mean me having to resub to the Network to watch as my stream kept dying on its arse during the opening match

Vinci being called up to reunite Imperium was a nice surprise and the match itself was how I wanted it to go, Sheamus and Gunther beating the piss out of each other

Liv/Baszler was the only real weak spot but shout out for the Sherri Wembley ring gear tribute Liv had on

The crowd giving Bayley the Takeover London treatment and her response was another highlight

Not sure where the go with the Dom turn from here, maybe call out Rey for exploiting him for the biz since he was a kid?

Main Event was great, was dreading Kross having a say but he seemed to just disappear after the earlier water bottle nonsense. Sikoa getting the call up to help the Big Use win was unexpected but him in the Bloodline could work, especially with the stuff with Sami and KO

If H is serious about making the UK a regular date in the PLE calendar then I’m all for it even if they gamble on the weather to do it in stadiums

  10. It had a good run like, 4-5 years I believe, and considering the company’s penchant for flip flopping on titles reigns, the UK titles at least got some respect

UK title - Bate, Dunne (Butch), WALTER (Gunther), Dragunov

UK Women’s - Ripley, Storm, KLR (Alba Fyre), Satomura

UK Tag - Grizzled Young Veterans (The Dyad), South Wales Subculture, Gallus, Moustache Mountain, Pretty Deadly, Smith/Carter, Briggs and Jensen

Heritage Cup - A-Kid (Axiom), Bate, Dar, M. Coffey

Summerslam '92 is currently free in a collection of Brtish shows, just started watching it and I forgot that Rocko was pushed as the main draw of the LoD.. no wonder Hawk went missing after the event.

The UK classics compilation is a belter as well, contains the following

Hogan v Savage from the first Sky special in 89

Bret v Davey from Summerslam 92

Bret v Taker from One Night Only 97

HBK v Cena from the Raw in London in 2007

AJ v Jinder from the Smackdown in Manchester in 2017

I think there’s another match there as well but can’t remember off the top of my head

  12. I envision things as seeing the Bucks talk up their partner then getting a tip off about something happening early on

Middle of the show you see what’s happened but not to who with the Bucks looking distraught then queue the match, Bucks’ music hits but no sign of them, Matt then limps out busted open with no sign of Nick but wanting to go ahead 1 v 3 against a laughing Andrade, Rush and Dragon Lee

Matt battles valiantly much to the crowds delight till Nick also attempts to come out but is cut off by Rush and Dragon. Andrade has Matt set up for the Hammerlock DDT when Hangman’s music hits to a monster pop and he runs out, takes out the other two then stands on the apron, hits the Buck Shot and drapes a beaten Matt on Andrade for the win

  13. Full bracket for the Trios tournament if anyone hasn’t seen it

    Quarter Finals

    Death Triangle vs United Empire

    Los Ingernobles vs Young Bucks/???

House of Black vs Dark Order

    Trustbusters vs Best Friends

    Semi Finals

    Death Triangle/United Empire vs Los Ingernobles/Young Bucks & ??

House of Black/Dark Order vs Trustbusters/Best Friends

Final at the All Out PPV

  14. PS1 was my jam for the longest time, I had the original until it broke down so I got the slimmer smaller model and had it chipped so I could get the cheap bootlegs. I mostly played FIFA and Premier Manager and the Smackdown and WCW games but I did also play some platformers, namely Crash Bandicoot and Abe’s Odessey

One thing I’ve loved about going to Comic Cons in Liverpool the past 5-6 years is the fact they have a retro game zone so when I need a breather from walking the floor, I pop up to it and jump on the PS1 if it’s free, in May they had Crash running on it which was a blast to run through a couple levels on

  15. Disappointing result against Chelsea yesterday but plenty of encouraging signs from the Blues. We’re expecting to confirm the signings of Onana, Gueye and Coady this week and are looking at a striker which if we get one will complete a great window for us

The only downer was the sickening injury to Ben Godfrey who’s looking like being out till after the World Cup at best

  16. Lightyear - a bit meh, don’t think we needed a back story for the Buzz Lightyear toy from Toy Story. Worth watching as a one off but that’s about it

Prey - awesome entry to the Predator franchise, I feel they held back on a bit of gore due to being on D+ but some of the kills were good and the new look for the Pred was awesomely creepy, an uglier mother than the one Arnie faced in the original

Frenzy - stumbled on this on Sky Arts just before, a classic bit of Hitchcock thrill that I’ve seen before and loved. There’s one scene in particular that shouldn’t be funny but is where the killer is trying to retrieve a brooch from a potato truck. Plus there’s a cameo from the late Bernard Cribbins
