As a Newcastle fan, and so ostensibly a neutral when it comes to the top of the table, can I request that we never let fans back in?  The football has been random as fuck since the restart last season and it's been infinitely more interesting.

Hold your horses with the form shown by Man City and Liverpool Newcastle will be fighting for the title with Everton.

I've been watching WCW Saturday Nights episodically for a while now and find them great background viewing. Always loved WCW in 92 with Superbrawl 2 one of my all time favourite ppvs so nice to see the TV leading upto the ppvs.

Dropped on an absolutely belting tag title match on the October 3rd 1992 episode between Steve Williams/Terry Gordy and Barry Windham/Dustin Rhodes, goes almost 30 mins and is a hidden gem (unless everyone else knew about it) that I would highly recommend to any fans of early 90s WCW tag action

I'm watching 92 WCW as well at the moment and generally love it. I'm half way through Clash 19 at the moment which is a bit of a let down to be honest.

  3. I'm in the camp with a few of you that I didn't watch mid 96-early 2000. Rock was the top baby face when I came back and I never took to him. Austin was fresh and hit with me immediately.

At the time the whole story and reveal was perfect for me. Loved it being Rikishi.

Looking back and with amazing theme aside he was never going  to work in that role.

I've no idea how it would work but I'd love to see a "runs saved" fielding statistic introduced to cricket because technically that's a dropped catch!

Haven't watched baseball in a long time but sure they have something along those lines, and maybe cricket does and I'm just unaware of it.

They displayed something at the back end of the world cup to that effect.  I remember Jadeja being comfortably the front runner despite almost exclusively being a sub only and it stuck with me.

Kayfabe by Sean Oliver was a brilliant fun listen on Audible. Sean narrates and impersonates the voices of the wrestlers he's talking about and it works really well.

I found Sean Oliver really hard to stomach. He has an annoyingly high opinion of himself.

    It's a shoot, brother.. match:

    Michael Hickenbottom v Michael Hegstrand.

    Erm....

    Mantaur v Haku!?!

(Just seen previous page... so erm... Michael Hayes v Mark Henry in a blindfold match. Ol' P.S. blindfold is white. And shaped into a point. Like the racist he is.)

No Missy Hyatt vs Malia Hosaka? Missed oppurtunity.

  9. I find audiobooks difficult to listen to, has anyone else had this problem? I usually listen to podcast at work, commuting or when I'm out with the animals but even the slightest amount of concentration  and I lose the thread.

    Anyone else have that issue?

Thiago to Liverpool looks as good as done and at a similar price to what we’re meant to be selling Brewster for who looks to be on his way to Sheff United for £25m with a buy back clause. Throw in a young pacey  forward with high potential and I think we’ll have done alright  considering. We’re not getting better than Thiago.

    Brewsters 25 millions?

I have zero recollection of his loss to Rothwell.

IIRC, the losses to Big Foot and Browne owed to his defensive frailties, rather than anything else. He was well on top in both bouts before his opponent found an opening (or perhaps he left an opening).

I read an article by Slack a while back that argued that he had the same weakness in K1 to some extent. And to be fair, issues with defence are always going to cost a heavyweight fighter more than a welterweight. It often only takes one punch to end a fight at heavyweight.

Aye, he got busted in 2012 IIRC. I believe he was withdrawn from a scheduled title bout with JDS.

Overeem was a bit of a punching bag for the anti-PED mob around that period, because visually he was the most obvious offender. His physique was always going to raise more eyebrows than say Anderson Silva's or Lyoto Machida's.

After 2012, I don't think he was doing that much more than others were doing in that era. It's probable that most UFC fighters were to some degree flouting drug tests around that period. It wasn't until early 2014 that NSAC outlawed TRT, and not until July 2015 that USADA started testing UFC fighters.

And to his credit, he hasn't failed a drug test in almost a decade. While many other ageing fighters have failed multiple tests.

A few years down the line and its worth  noting that his drop off since the UFC clampdown on PEDs has been far less severe than numerous other big names. Which lends credence to my belief the gear benefited him less than what the majority of other steroid wankers.
