I had a vacant bloke at work ask what cows drink when/if we milk them dry and I reassured him that they can smell their own hormones in milk so won't drink their own milk only other cows.  He seemed happy with that explanation but I took even greater delight when I had this tidbit fedback to me by another colleague a couple of days later.

Well that was bloody good.

Its a day 5 pitch, if they truly want to win(I think they need to view it as must win). Set them 240-250 and really dangle the carrot. Back your bowlers, Broad and Woakes looked fucking rolling with the 2nd new ball. I wouldn't fancy any teams chances of chasing 250. 

They need to win this test not hope the Windies lose it.

50 over cricket was always my favourite format growing up for 2 reasons 1) I did have a shorter attention span and 2) and this is a much bigger reason I could watch a game to completion. This extended to when I was able to get to the Riverside to watch Durham. I could get to a days play but never several.

Even in my teens though I was always most enthralled by test cricket. Absolute pinnacle and allows for the ebbs and flows and requires a much wider array of skill.

Root,Stokes,Pope and Buttler can all accelerate the scoring that is exactly his and Burns job. Its was great. Actually Buttlers sole fucking job is to capitalise on foundations like that.

Stokes was fantastic again. I might need to renege on a point I made early he could well be our best batsmen now.

Probably because they aren't very good. 

Those who think Root is too tier are deluding themselves. He just can't seem to potter along, he always seems to work himself out.

Btw, Bisping was actually winning the Belcher fight quite handily before it was called off in the 3rd round. 

He need Jorge Rivera to the head when he was down if I remember correctly. Was winning the fight however so not sure its massively noteworthy.

I really loved this when it was released as a big fan of the books and TV show growing up and it was just as wonderful watching it again, and success, in that my youngest now wants to read some Tintin.

A surprising amount have at the very lewst quite racist undertone or references so from experience give them a scan before you read them to your kid.

Largely agree with this unless I actively support a team I couldn't give a fuck. The exception being WBA I always want them in the premier league as a friend works for them so can get a comp ticket for Newcastle games and gives me an excuse they catch up. So yeah  fuck Leeds. 

Paris is comfortably the worse major city I've been to but I did get to enjoy a man in his late teens slip in dog shit whilst running away from unsuccessful bag snatch which was great. 

That is part of the problem thay Root and Cook had (although I still think Cook was a decent Captain) was no time captaining there county as they have always been in the team. 

Burns could be capable, beyond Stokes and  who is established in the team without retirement looming? 

Fuck it brings back Nasser and bat him at 9. Always been my favourite captain.

I think England are putting together a good batting line-up at last (Denly needs to go though) but there are areas for improvement. And Buttler's been given more than enough tests now, Foakes never deserved to be dropped in the first place.

I hate to rag on Denly as he has great temperament and is a competent player but is that what we should settle on at 3? 

I've never been a fan of Buttler in red ball cricket, I know Foakes was shite in County last year but I would much rather have him. Deep down though I'm a YJB apologist and would still lean in that direction.

Batting was annoyingly predictable, nice knock by Bess at the end. I reckon there is a decent chance he becomes a batting all rounder at some point. Mainly in county cricket but he has really impressed me numerohs times with the bat. I actually think he has more potential with the bat than Sam Curran. Saying that I am sceptical about him as a front line test spinner going forward.

It was really noticeable how much Borad was missed, fuck even Woakes. Archer still needs to be the 3rd seamer for me. For the time being at least.
