Ran the local GP to ask to speak to him or as i know he is busy, to leave a message for him . This is in regards to my 84 year old dad who has had cancer and now has heart issues.

The Doc was meant to call me last week with an update

The receptionist said he is not available (more than fair) i said can you pass on a message to call me back in regards to my dad . Thats the mesaage…

”Yeah it would be better if you just called again at 2”

I’m like , “oh right so can you tell him what its in regards to in case he needs to check a few details before i speak to him”

”Erm, best if you call at 2 yourself “

Bit sure if the receptionist is lazy or if she can’t pass on a message for a legit reason.

The receptionist will be wary about quoting "clinical information". From experience they may well have a hard and fast rule that the receptionist is worried about breaching.

I missed the Mountain biking from the other day. Does anyone know if there is an on demand option for past events?

Yeah, BBC Iplayer have a list of events for each day. If you go to day 3 it has should have the full race.

  3. Pidcock was absolutely phenomenal in the MTB, I would've loved to have seen what he could of done in the road race. I suspect the distance and Fuji would've been to much for him though.

I can't tell you if it's 'completely normal' but it sounds like how I felt second time around and it hasn't affected my ability to completely fall in love with my second child.

Of course it will feel very different. There's not the novelty that was there, the adrenaline from the complete unknown etc. But that doesn't mean it is "less".

Don't forget first time around you were pretty much just sitting there and waiting for a baby to turn up. This time you've got the day to day of taking care of your current kid to keep you distracted.

Also it's not that you're unprepared, it's just that preparing is easier when you know what to expect.

I echo a lot if this for my 2nd and 3rd the excitement level was much reduced I say excitement but anticipation was a much better word. I was far more able to enjoy the process though and the first few weeks of them being born.

Just watching the Sky Sports pundits autopsy on the state of the English team. Only a single player averaging over 40 with the bat, and an ageing pace attack with no obvious signs of any replacements obvious.

Have we come to a point where we need to properly split the disciplines, and have red ball player only playing and concentrating on first class and white ball players only playing and concentrating in list A/T20?

It just feels at the minute we're at a place with the England team in particular where all the focus is on the white ball disciplines, and traditional test match skills are going becoming extinct.

My concern with splitting the disciplines is not many would choose red ball. If you want to make a career and decent income white ball is a much safer bet.

  6. Italy looked smart and very capable last night but I wasn't that impressed. I didn't see anyone who was going to pull off a bit of magic. Turkey looked completely uninspired.

Speaking off YouTube, I'm really enjoying the fact that all the counties are streaming their 4 day games.

Watched most of the final 2 days of Lancs v Sussex (Jack Carson looks a great prospect for Sussex), then being able to just flick over to watch the end of that Yorkshire v Northants match which went down to the wire was great (apart from the result 😄

Yeah, it's been great. I've watched a fair amount of Durhams games so far. Brilliant to have on in the background when working from home.

Very good point, but I just thought it was a silly spelling thats all (says he who has a stupidly spelled name)

My parents wanted to call me Ryan until they realised that on school registers it would've looked like Bacon Rind and OH MY GOD HOW WOULD I HAVE EVER COPED WITH THAT TRAUMA!

I can vouch for this, having witnessed years of it. It's also why we encouraged Europeans and Africans to take their photos off their CVs (which is a fairly pointless thing anyway) God, typing that sentence is so fucking depressing.

I remember sending a spec CV (All personal info taken off and sent as an 'enticing' tool to a manager who may not necessarily have a position).

Manager asked for a full CV for interview and then decided that Winston wouldn't "fit in well with a name like that".

Winston was white and from Tamworth.

I know a Winston from Lichfield just outside Tamworth. If it's the same bloke he is a bit of a prick so probably wouldn't fit in well.

Its incredibly depressing though, I've been shortlisting with a colleague who has wasn't sure about shortlisting someone due to them having an Asian name and being worried about their English. I work with that person now and again they were born and raided locally and minus having a nippy Morningside accent unsurprisingly had perfect English.

Such as? I reckon Larsson would count but can’t remember anyone else.

World class is strong but both teams did have some excellent players during that time.

Rangers had Van Bronckhorst, Ronald De Boer, Mike Arteta and Arthur Numan.

Celtic had Larsson, Moravcik, Lambert , Petrov and Ramon Vega.

Your right though I wouldn't classify any of them as World class during that time except for Larsson. Although I did think Van Bronckhorst 2000-01 was phenomenal.

Pot Noodle sandwiches. Please tell me someone on Twitter is taking the piss. Surely they aren't actually a thing?

I've done it and it was alright. Leave enough noodle juice to soak into the bread and its quite the treat.
