Will probably end up with Edge winning the title and Christian losing his opportunity and then Christian turning on Edge because he's jealous and then its Edge vs Christian at Summerslam or something.

I said it in the Rumble Thread but I completely forgot Nakamura won the Royal Rumble a few years ago.
-
First show I've seen since MITB and think its the worst rumble I've seen in a very long time (think it will also be as forgettable as the Nakamura one, which I still always forget he won).
No big stars, no surprise entrants, no debuts, no big moments. Just felt flat and repetitive, I'm sure The Hurricane did the exact same thing last year, there were times during the Rumble where I thought I was watching the 2020 one both for the women and mens.
I have no problem with Edge winning, just thought it was predictable that when Orton hobbled off he would come back again and the further the Rumble went on it became obvious to me that Edge would get to the end and Orton would come back, I'm sure the commentators alluded to this too when it was down to the last 5-6 (Cole went on about that there was 5 left, 6 as Orton wasn't officially out of the match) and then when it was the final 4 there was no mention at all of Orton and that there was now 4 left.
Usually I tune in from now until Mania, but nothing from the Rumble has made me want to watch last nights Raw. Might just skip the next few months and watch Mania without the repetitive shows in-between.

Bale always looks decent for Wales though? Although with so much football being played since last summer I can't remember the last time I saw him play for Wales.

With credit to @Gay as FOOK from the wrestling Twitter thread. I thought that this belongs here as well. I'm guessing that the music guy at Arsenal is secretly a Spurs fan.
They had Triple H's song before Christmas.

I did. He spent a couple of seasons playing with (I perceived) arrogance and his media profile and sponsorship deals seemed to increase at the exact inverse trend to his form on the pitch. That BT advert (where he’s doing different sports) that started airing between seasons and the articles suggesting he was going to be on the cover of FIFA 18 (eventually turned out to be bollocks) preceded his relatively disappointing 17-18 season and fairly drab World Cup, goal aside. He then started pocketing more cash from deals with Lynx, Adidas and other big names, then got his HyperX deal half way through 18-19 during which his contribution dipped again. Kane stayed constant, Son improved year on year, but its uncanny the way the timings of Dele becoming more and more of a big shot in terms of off pitch revenue streams coincide with his play degrading.
I remember him being in the Pepsi advert as well (With Messi I think) at the last World Cup.

Such a sad loss.
I don't normally comment in RIP threads but loved his work and character in WWE, was always well received by the UK fans and often was well placed on the card on the Raw/Smackdown over here (couple of main events which I'm sure he would of been proud of going by the video above).
I was a big fan of the Wyatt family, and sadly he was the only one I never met over the years.

I know the soaps have a habit of stealing storylines from each other, but EastEnders and Corrie are practically running the same story leading into Christmas. EastEnders has "Who left Ian Beale for dead?" and Corrie has "Who left Adam Barlow for dead?" Both attacks were very similar too. I know they've had their work cut out because of Covid restrictions, but that takes the piss.
Quite enjoying this Ian Beale storyline atm.
I am hoping its the Covid that kills him in the end though especially as no one is wearing masks on the show.

I think the only realistic thing I am looking forward too next year is paying off my debts because of past mistakes.
The thought of being £500 better off a month this time next year will make a world of difference, assuming I don't lose my job between now and then anyway!

Empty Arena in a different Era
in UK Fan Forum
Posted
Tough one to answer because if we are using an Attitude Raw as an example then back then matches were shorter, shows were shorter, more backstage skits, more characters/gimmicks, with very little internet and no streaming during a pandemic you would still have lots of eyes on the product. Presumably WWE would probably darken the arena as it all looked more edgy back then to now anyway. I think as a show they would have been fine (I know fans played a huge part back then).
Not too sure about money/profits but they would have probably made the shows more bearable than they are now even with less technology.
