  1. I would buy an electric car if the range was decent and if it was affordable but feels more stressful than it needs to be as not many charging stations in my area or on route to work but hopefully that changes in years to come, feels like its a little too early with electric cars with much better technology around the corner. Probably hold off a few more years.

I saw a tiktok or something which talked about how the colour of the ddakji might've been what you ended up being in the game - player or guard.

This does sound like a cool theory, especially if its a way for him to go back but obviously as a guard rather than a player.

Also I wonder if the numbers do have any relevance, like 001 always being the host so that the guards know never to shoot/kill that number. Maybe something similar with the doctor.

I enjoyed the show, especially the twist at the end, liked how the actual squid game finished before the last episode which gave time for them to do the whole ending rather than a quick 2 minute thing like you see at the end of most series.

Speaking of twists - Two things I thought would happen (could happen who knows?)

    1. I was expecting a twist involving Seong Gi-hun's daughters step dad somehow being involved in the games, that's why he was rich and he was moving to America (maybe knew the Americans and was going to take the games abroad).

    2. Player 001 is Seong Gi-hun's dad which is why he wanted him to do well.

Maybe both is possible and there is hints in the show about the father/son thing.

Any tips or advice much appreciated (never done a video interview before). If this goes well, for the first time in ages I'll be home every night and the new Mrs Vance will be very happy.

As someone who has been on video calls myself whilst staying in hotels its worth thinking and making sure your background looks decent. Presumably your bed will be in the background If your sitting at the desk/table so making sure the camera angles are good and there is no messy background will be helpful.

I find with video calls its easier to make jokes to lighten the mood, show more of your personality than the whole generic interview.

I never said Vince wasn’t a fan. But watching the product today you wouldn’t know it. Either he’s lost his passion, or he simply doesn’t know what works anymore.

Aren't WWE making profits year on year? I think that's probably all Vince cares about tbh.

I do agree the product is shit though.

  9. Maybe because of Covid they can only let in a few thousand? Or maybe that's what they are telling Vince anyway.

I have Raw on auto record every week so only  watch if something amazing has happened (which is rare) and occasionally would tune in live because the show is live and ANYTHING can happen, but with the fake fan noise the shows don't even feel real anymore.

The entire industry has been inherently racist for it's entire existence and I don't know Vince anymore than the next man but I do think they've made efforts to change their approach in the past decade and a bit more. There are certainly greater opportunities for performers of colour, or maybe more accurately, fewer barriers, and they're far less likely to end up portraying some stereotype with a tiny shelf life. Not completely unlikely (eh Jinder?) but much less.

Call me cynical (or much worse) but personally I only think there's been more opportunities because WWE is more of a global brand now (more exposure/wwe network) and with that comes potential money from different markets around the world.

Hopefully I am wrong though but this is Vince and WWE we are talking about, it's always about money first and anything else afterwards.

    Update on this.

I still haven't heard back yet.

I am going with the no news is probably bad news but given its an internal role I am going to just say nothing and maybe in a week or two ask what the hell is happening.

Keeping on topic I also hate job adverts that don't specify pay, I'm surprised in this day and age there isn't a law or rule around this.

So got the phone call to say that I haven't been successful because of the commute concerns.

A bit frustrating as they said that if I lived closer I would have been the ideal candidate. Even more frustrating that they asked me to go all the way up there in the first place for the interview as they knew where I lived so feels like a waste of time in that respect.

I suppose on the plus side the next time they ask me to travel anywhere over an hour, whether for a meeting or to support I will say its too long a commute. Yes I am going to be a bitter bastard from now on.

Applied for a job internally which is advertised as 60% based in head office & 40% based at home. Interview went really well yesterday BUT the sticking point (for them, not me) is that its 90 miles each way commute (I do drive) and I've had the interview manager and business partner get me on a call today to say they didn't realise I lived that far (although the recruitment advisor knew and obviously I did) and they are concerned that travel will be too much and almost questioned if this is the right job for me but without actually saying whether I have got the job or not.

Where do I stand on this? I was considering moving anyway which isn't an issue but its a catch 22 where I am not going to move anywhere until I have the job, but personally travelling 3 days wouldn't be a big issue and I could always book myself a hotel anyway if push comes to shove.

They are going to call me back tomorrow but not really sure they can say I haven't got the job based on location/distance can they? This is the same company by the way where regional/district managers travel from the likes of Newcastle to London, Ipswich to London, Wales to London etc. Has really irked me to be honest and I even said that for training I am happy to do 5 days in the office and stay over as financially I won't be at a loss as the salary is an increase anyway.

  14. For all his character work, gimmicks, promos & all the bells and whistles that he does so well (and better than most),  I can't say I've ever really enjoyed any of his matches or remember many as standouts. Maybe I am being harsh and my memory is shit these days, but usually with the very top tier there are memorable matches (must see or must see moments) and my only real memories of Jericho are promos.

I don’t think they can. They may be nervous thinking you’ll do it a few times and find it too strenuous and give up the job - maybe that’s happened before with someone else - but that’s a lot of assumptions. If you’re willing and able to do it and you applied knowing what it’d involve I don’t think they can discriminate based on that.

How long is the commute in terms of time? Mine’s around the same length as yours but the actual journey’s only an hour - I know people who live and work in different parts of London whose journey lasts longer (or at least that’s what they tell me).

About an hour and a half on a clear run would be fair and its mainly motorways. I've commuted myself to London before in other jobs and even with this company so the commute doesn't bother me at all. I've driven there before and even drove there to attend the interview.

I don't know whether its a good thing they've called as it shows some seriousness and transparency that I could be offered the position, but can't help but feel they will find reason not to offer me it now. I think they were hoping I would have a change of heart and back out or have second thoughts. But if all goes well I would probably look to move nearer that way in time but its swings and roundabouts really as I cannot move until I got the job anyway.

I totally get why they would be concerned, I think selfishly they prefer people nearer to work who can just come into the office at short notice and me being that far makes that more difficult, but then my argument would be if I can work from home then I would be able to jump onto a laptop quickly anyway.

Arturo Roman (Money Heist) is one that springs to mind - an absolutely dreadful character, a weasely actor in amongst an otherwise stellar cast. Removing him would not have changed much (for me anyway) in as much as I wanted to fast forward every time he appeared on-screen. Really annoyed me to the point that I enjoyed the programme less the more he was involved. Most people will disagree - which is fair enough - but there is nothing of any interest in that character for me and he detracts from an otherwise enthralling watch.

I'm not sure how he is as an actor but he plays the chickenshit heel really well. But do think they overused him in the show, one season fine but him coming back was a little OTT.

Berlin makes up for it though at the opposite end of the scale for being absolutely amazing though.
