Dark season 3 opened with a new character with a cleft lip to which I instantly remarked, “I dunno who the fuck he is but I bet there’s about 3 more versions of him” then a young boy with a cleft lip and an old man with a cleft lip suddenly emerged from the shadows. Pretty much sums the show up.

It’s great but fuck is it easy to lose your way with all the different versions of characters and time lines. Still great music.

I posted a little while back that its one of the best shows I've ever seen. Saw the first two episodes last night of S3, still trying to get my head round it, but great show so far. Hopefully get this wrapped up in the next few days, then will probably have to rewatch everything again to see what I've missed. Glad there is another Dark fan/follower on here.

I was born in early November 73 and have many early memories; one of them being a terrible plane crash which turns out to have been the Tenerife Disaster.

Today I learned, thanks to a Easyjet pilot who I chatted to the answer of a question that I always wondered; one that when visiting online plane enthusiasts forum seemed to cause arguments.

If Van Zanten had missed the Pan Am; even by the proverbial baw hair, then he could even with the 200m tail strike have flown around and landed without the need for any fuel dump.

With a full 747 and a completely full petrol load he could have landed; albeit there was a good chance of over shooting the runway due to being so heavy.

He explained all aitliners can do this and training is essential in the scenario of a fire on board after take off where the most important factor is to land and await help.

This has always intrigued me. As I said when asking the question on specialist forums the ensuing answers seem to cause arguing so it was great to speak to a pilot.

Unsurprisingly the disaster and the actions of Van Zanten are still an integral part of pilot training.

Out of interest, what's the forum? Always enjoy these kind of topics.

  6. Edge was only on limited match deal wasn't he? Something like 3 matches a year which he has already done now. So not sure what the plan would have been if he didn't get injured?

Maybe the plan was for Orton to punt him in the head and put him out of action anyway until the Rumble?

  7. Is there anything decent for Mac that I can download from Steam? Looking for a theme park kind of game or something like theme hospital.

Doesn't appear to be much good games on there. I know Mac's aren't for games but as someone who has football manager I thought there would be more out there (maybe there is?)

Start of the world title match was fire. It's a shame everything in this company needs bells and whistles and silly bollocks attached to it. Drew vs Lashley in a straight up clash of beasts is something I can get behind.

I haven't seen much WWE aside from the PPV's (so forgive me if I am naive) but Lashley with MVP in his corner and his full nelson lock looked a serious threat. Why didn't they book Lashley like this from the start and why ruin it with the Lana thing?

I wouldn't mind seeing Lashley go on a run and just putting the full nelson lock on everyone even if it means matches lasting no longer than 30 seconds.

  9. I really enjoyed the match and them trying to do things a little differently with the camera angles, in a world without live fans in attendance they can get away with these things and at least they are trying different things, its much better than the same old empty arena matches we've seen for months on end.

I didn't even mind the pitched sound either, for me it added something to the match, took away the daft NXT fans at ringside shouting random things & it was no worse than the pitched sound that Smackdown used to have on its taped shows.

Was never going to be the greatest match ever without real fans in attendance, but was good fun and probably the greatest match WWE have put on since lockdown and in empty arenas, for me anyway.

  10. So WWE Backlash is on tonight and despite the greatest match ever taking place, I couldn't find a thread for the show, so here it is.

    The card is as follows.

    Quote

Edge vs. Randy Orton – Singles Match

WWE Champion Drew McIntyre vs. Bobby Lashley

WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman vs. The Miz & John Morrison – Handicap Match

WWE RAW Women’s Champion Asuka vs. Nia Jax

Jeff Hardy vs. Sheamus – Singles Match

WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Bayley & Sasha Banks vs. Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross vs. The IIconics – Title Triple Threat Match

WWE United States Champion Apollo Crews vs. Andrade

Nothing overly exciting and unless Vince completely re-writes the script (Heyman no longer on creative) I can't see too many surprises...

    Pre Show starts at 11pm.

    Main Show starts at Midnight.

I know this is probably naive but how the fuck will they sneak that one past FFP?

They haven't spend the Hazard (£100m) or Morata (£60m) money yet.

    Plus the transfer ban savings.

And Chelsea will probably sell Willian for about £60m as they always do well selling players.

  12. One I just thought of is when wrestlers buy front row tickets for a show they might be banned from (storylines obviously). Usually always ringside on the day of the show.

I know its all part of the show, just unrealistic unless they've gone onto stub hub and paid a small fortune.

  13. I don't think this is an excuse by any means, but some of the clickbait I have seen on Facebook from news outlets/media doesn't help either. I understand headlines are done in a way to make people click links and read articles, but I don't think many people actually do (on my Facebook anyway) and take whatever the headline is as guidance.

  14. I quite liked the Raw Roulette Bischoff used to do on Monday Night Raw.

Wouldn't mind seeing that back when wrestling returns to normal, even if it's Bischoff himself spinning the wheel every now and then, could add things on there like 'Championship' match to give fresh/random opportunities.

Was writing a piece on Daniel Storey's Gazza In Italy book. Had a look at the top scorers in England and Italy in 1992/93:

Premier League - Sheringham, Ferdinand, Holdsworth, Quinn, Shearer, White, Armstrong, Cantona, Deane, Hughes, Le Tissier, Robins and Wright.

Serie A - Giuseppe Signori, Roberto Baggio, Abel Balbo, Ruben Sosa, Gabriel Batistuta, Daniel Fonseca, Roberto Mancini, Maurizio Ganz, Jean-Pierre Papin, Florin Raducioiu, Marco Van Basten and Gianfranco Zola.

Different world. Italy still had the foreigner rule too. That helped spread the quality but imagine how many more star names would have been there without it.

That's not bad considering English football began in 1992.

Can we have a, “LinkedIn updates that blow your mind” thread? I know LinkedIn is full of business people spouting bollocks to make themselves look good any way, but an absolute nugget-of-a-connection has just posted this:

Like, c’mon, mate. We’re in lockdown because of a global pandemic. They’re not going to be conducting tours and let you have a little walk around. And it would involve a Cummins-esque trip of almost 300 miles that definitely isn’t going to count as “essential travel”.

Will probably go next Monday when 'Showrooms' are back open again, technicalities and all.

  17. I have had enough of all this bullshit and Dominic Cummings is just another added to the list, but lets not pretend he is the only one doing this, people up and down the nation aren't social distancing, going for ice creams on the beach and visiting family/friends so its a bigger problem than just him, if anything it just goes to show that either no one gives a fuck about the rules in place or they don't understand them which I think is the biggest issue here.
