In the US calendar that would be 11th May 2021.

On the 11th May 2021, Edinson Cavani signed a new 1 year contract with Man Utd.

Man Utd signed Edinson Cavani from Paris St Germain.

St Germain is a French liqueur made from elderflower.

Elderflower was a syrup first created by the Roman Empire.

CM Punk is coming back at Summerslam and he’s going to face Roman Reigns at Extreme Rules.

Also the minor complaints are hysterically funny. Saw elsewhere a person losing their mind that Fuego losing, then still getting the contact devalued AEW stipulations in the future.

I love wrestling, but we fucking deserve it sometimes.

I wouldn’t say that it devalues stipulations, but to have a stip that required someone to win only to then give them the thing any way just means it was a pointless stip in the first place. It’s like that time Rey Mysterious lost the #1 contender ship to Randy Orton only to then get added back to the match on the following Smackdown.

Fuego Del Sol in defeat gained a contract and lost nothing. I’m aware now that some elements of the story have played out online and such, but if you’re just watching the TV show and are told “person X gets whatever if they win” only to have them lose and give it to them anyway, then what was the point?

There was a line on commentary, I think it was from Excalibur, who said that Fuego could win by count out and get his contract that way, which would’ve allowed for the contract to be won and do a rematch where Miro can give him a pasting. But, this is AEW where they don’t do Count Outs or DQs unless they absolutely have to

I've only just realised that the United Centre is not the Allstate Arena. I just assumed they changed the name of the place and that it was the same building as Money in the Bank 2011 and a bunch of other PPVs but alas it is not. It's bigger, though. Hosted SummerSlam 1994 and more importantly the ch ch chosen one (wreeeeoww!) getting the big gold at Spring Stampede 2000.

Yeah, United Centre is where The Bulls play as well as Punk’s beloved Chicago Blackhawks and is in Chicago itself. Allstate Arena, home the AHL’s Chicago Wolves and where WWE usually run, is in Rosemont about 20 miles away, meaning the hire is significantly cheaper as it’s not “downtown Chicago”.

To @Louch’s point about how they’ve sold a load of tickets & can’t just have him come out an do nothing- I feel as though it’s more of being able to say “I was there” rather than for anything he might do.

  5. It’s only a one hour show, there’s no need to put on straight away.

Hopefully the crowd don’t just chant for him all the way through the undercard, that’s not fair on what is mostly a roster very deserving of your attention. It’ll probably just be a 3 match show similar to last week, but that shouldn’t take away from whatever gets put on

  6. I think they’ve foreseen that they want the crowd to singalong, but have realised that they only seem to properly join in once they get to the chorus. Rather than have everyone mumbling the verse, this at least gives them a shot of getting everyone up to speed.
It probably would’ve worked better had Jericho tweeted it himself (he may well have done for all I know), but no-ones going to care after Wednesday

  7. I think you’ve misconstrued what I’ve meant.

It comes from where I work, sometimes I work as a Greeter on the door. If it’s morning, I’ll say “good morning”, once it’s afternoon I’ll say “good afternoon”. But everyday you can guarantee it will happen where you say “good afternoon” and they’ll replay with “good morning” or just “morning” as I posted a moment ago.

Actually makes me nervous for Punk's debut now, are they going to blow it by trying to squeeze to much in? Punk literally needs to come in and chase off a bad guy, that's it.

They don’t even need to do that much. Just his music hitting and him coming out to the ramp will get the reaction before they end the show

    Who's singing for Static-X now?

They’ve been working a ‘man beneath a mask’ gimmick and haven’t said officially who it is, but it’s rumoured to be Edsel Dope

  10. I don’t want to sound too harsh on the show as it’s the first episode of a new thing and all that, but the 4 man booth has to be stopped immediately and Jericho is one to go. He did alright once with Schiavone at the start of the pandemic and he’s been riding that ever since with diminishing results. The amount of times he goes to say something that he thinks is either funny or clever, only to get to the punchline and realise he has nothing and then stutter out whatever he can muster just to finish, get lost man.
I like Mark Henry (who doesn’t) and like I said it could just be first show teething problems, but he didn’t add anything that you couldn’t have got from it just being Excalibur and Taz.

Opening your new show with a match for someone else’s belt as well - I know there will be a healthy majority who watch Dynamite will also watch this, but for any new fans (if there is such a thing) what does that say about your product.
The match itself was perfectly decent, and as a result I’m certainly more interested in the match at All Out, assuming it still goes ahead, to see how they can differentiate the two.

Jamie Hayter’s return went down like a fart in a lift which is a shame for her as she’s completely transformed her look over the last 18 months. I think she only appeared twice for AEW before which was right back at the start of Dynamite, so going for a surprise return was never going to work because the crowd either isn’t invested in her or just plain doesn’t know her. As she’s changed her look, give her the vignette treatment and have her do the run in another time, this didn’t need the post-match angle.

A decent hours worth of TV though, but it all hangs on next week

  11. @Egg Shenand I’m imagining that Butcher Babies got the anti-pop, they’re fucking shit.

Static X are an interesting choice but I’d be up for watching them. Guessing that Behemoth haven’t been rebooked to headline as I’m sure they would’ve announced them, unless they’re announcing more over the next two days.

I’m hoping that his set makes it to the Bloodstock YouTube channel eventually (the headline sets usually do but not for a few months afterwards), he doesn’t disappoint.

I know you mentioned that you only went for the day, but there anything noticeably different in terms of COVID measures? Or was it just like ‘The Before Times’?
