It's more a case of being past his prime years and isn't necessarily chasing a top spot in the same way a Buddy Matthews type might. If Cesaro had a two year run in AEW. Had the matches he wanted, he's more likely to be thinking about retirement if he's just a midcard act.

My bad, I read as you thinking he was coming to the end just because he was over 40.

As others have suggested, a year in AEW having good entertaining matches could be worth a go. You could maybe even get a TNT Title run out of him but he shouldn’t be anywhere near the Main Event, no matter how many twitterers demand he be “used properly”.

Ive always predated him as a tag team guy and really liked him with Sheamus as The Bar. Wasn’t Timothy Thatcher let go last year too? Bring them in together as just a pair of hard nasty bastards and stick them in the tag division

TIL something that probably everyone here already knows, that Peter Jackson and Cate Blanchett were in uncredited roles in Hot Fuzz.

From what I remember, Cate had to ask to go uncredited. It had something to do with avoiding having to be involved with the press junket when the film was released.

  3. I don’t think it’s leading to a face turn for MJF, but it did a great job of adding some stakes for him to win the Dog Collar Match.

All too often it’s a case of the heel having being forced into the match and at risk of getting their comeuppance and little else. This did a great job of MJF having a reason to want to win, feeling slighted by Punk for it “just being a Friday”

  4. That Battle Royale was a bit oddly paced in the middle. It seemed to be building to a close only to end up going another 7 or 8 minutes.
4 refs out there and you’ve still got Remsburg throwing his up going legs happen’?” after Hardwood’s elimination.

“Bullying is a serious, serious matter”, says the company that has Jay Lethal & Darby Allin on its books.

Penta’s new (if it is new, I didn’t see much of him pre-AEW) entrance - 10 on 10 on 10 on 10 on 10, fantastic stuff. Shame the crowd were pretty dead for the actual match.

Buddy Matthews - I hope Omega isn’t due back soon

  5. For anyone looking to watch the show on FITE, the thumbnail for the episode isn’t the usual purple & hot pink colours. It looks more it’s for Revolution but look for the one with Jurassic Express and the a bunch of Vacants on it and you’ve got the episode

  6. Brock being the happiest cowboy was a great opening to the show.

They played into the Cody speculation really well with Miz’s announcement, shame they’ve brought in one of the Paul brothers again though. Is this one that boxes? Or the one that went to Aokigahara, aka The Suicide Forest and  pretended to be shocked to find that someone had committed suicide there

Apartment 26 were British. My mate was friendly with them. Cracking line up that. I bet it was a belter.

    Weren’t they Geezer Butler’s son’s band?

Old man moment, but all that for ÂŁ32.50, those were the days

After putting off Mad Men for years I finally made a start to it the other week. I’m struggling. Almost finished the first season and I’m just not interested in anything that’s happening. I don’t care who’s shagging who, I think her from Handmaid’s Tale is supposed to be a central character but hasn’t really done anything except shag the manchild and I’m getting a bit bored of watching groups of men sit around making sexist jokes.
The other half tells me I should stick with it because it improves but with this type of show if you’ve not hooked the audience within an episode or two I don’t think you really deserve perseverance. Am I missing something?

The wife and I have been rewatching Mad Men recently too, we’re currently halfway through S6. For some reason we never saw S7 when it was first on and I’ve never known how the show ends, hence this rewatch.

S1 is a bit of a slow burn so I can understand your frustrations, but it does hit it’s stride towards the end of S1 and into S2 onwards and is absolutely worth the plaudits it gets.

Or Vince pulls a Mr. Burns.

Vince: Give that dog a push.

    Nick: But what about Cody?

Vince: Who? Oh him, he can have a stunner or two.

Is that after Cody has crawled through the Supplicants Flap?

I'm curious if Cody will be the one to bring it up, or if that will fall to a "shocking shoot promo" from one of his opponents. I can see them just giving him the Drew McIntyre, "he left, came back, and is better now than when he left" treatment

I see where your coming from, but I honestly don’t think that they’ll able to help themselves. The main difference being that Drew didn’t (to the best of my knowledge) go around trashing WWE about holding him back or other such nonsense. The biggest place Drew went was Impact, a show watched by so few people (and even less these days) that it barely even registered, who cares about Impact?
With Cody they have “reads the dirt sheets” section of the audience to play up to and is coming in from the #2 promotion in the country. You could argue that Drew coming from Impact was also him coming from the #2 promotion, but drop the off from #1 to #2 at that time was much larger than it is now.

Worked Shoot Bollocks is definitely what’s going to happen, whether it’s from Cody or whoever his opponent ends up being.
