Ha yeah, only £1.99 but it's some trash made in machine code. There were some classics released on those budget labels though, I think even Dizzy started as one.

    Oh absolutely.

I'm pretty sure stuff like Stuntman, BMX Simulator, and Kickstart were in those bargain selections.

  2. There definitely seems to be a leaning towards war in the Middle East. Israel keep poking the bear. They've recently attacked Lebanon and I think targeted a 2nd tier Hamas leader in Iraq.

America have recently made comments to slightly temper Israel in their attempts to ethnically cleanse Gaza of the Palestinians.

Incidents in the Red Sea are ramping up. The Yemeni groups are not backing down from the Western Naval presence. The US recently had a skirmish that left some Yemeni Houthi sailors dead.

It's all quite difficult to follow. The main Israeli offensive into Gaza is continuing. Continued horrific atrocities. Israeli political rhetoric comes across as reprehensible and bizarre. Almost unbelievable.

So after aiding Israel in killing thousands of civilians.  The US is now saying that Hamas cannot be eliminated.

What goes on in their minds?

South Africa have put forward a charge of Genocide against Israel.

It's amazing that such establishments think they can get away with this type of foolishness.

Pretty good examination of Israel's actions in Gaza.

  3. Yeah. This double dealing over Ukraine and Israel is really going to test the statecrafters. We are going to see some very bizarre political games over the next few months. Whether the incumbent regimes have the necessary nouse will become apparent very soon. There's a lot of games being played and I'm not as knowledgeable of the situations as I'd like to be. Lots of grey shades.

I've just remembered, I had this bad boy, or a variation, as I don't remember it looking exactly like that, and thought it was called Sega Scope?

No idea what games I had for it though, maybe just the Terminator one to be honest.

I didn't have a console until the PS1. It was Amigas for me. I curiously looked over at the various consoles. Never took the plunge though.

I remember when Madden came out on the Megadrive. It was heralded as a major development in gaming. It eventually also came out on the Amiga. The presentation in the Amiga version was incredible. Full on TV style front end. A bit like Robocop 3D. They'd worked out an ingenious control method for Madden. No need for those daft pad things with their myriad of buttons. Plus proper football games were always better with a joystick. Kick Off 2 and SWOS. Neither game was ever quite right on console. You can keep your FIFA. I've hated that game series since it's inception.

    Glorious!

  5. Bye. Thanks for the memories. I'll cherish those that I have. Summerslam 88 was my first official VHS. I've always valued live recorded versions more highly. Still have stacks of VHS tapes going back to the mid 80s. I'll transfer everything to Digital, one day.

  6. @Keith Houchen I was trying to refer to the way Russia are playing the gallery. They've positioned themselves as critical of Israel. Thinking about it. That does carry over from their actions in the Russia Ukraine war. Perception in the middle East is favourable to Russia. In the West quite the opposite.

@d-d-d-dAz thanks for deciphering my musings and explaining everything so well.

  7. I'm a bit confused by the strange dichotomy(hope that's the right word) between the two prominent wars happening in the world currently.

Russia and Ukraine appear to have an involvement in both wars.

As far as I'm aware Russia are seen as the aggressor in the Russia Ukraine war. Since that war began, there have been accusations of Nazism in Ukraine.

With the Israeli Palestine "war". Israel have been accused of Zionism/Nazism. Russia are being presented as a voice of reason. I'm reading that a lot of the Israeli hierarchy draws it's influence from Ukraine, and the surrounding regions.

How can the two wars and the participants be perceived so differently?

I haven't even mentioned the involvement of western nations. USA,UK, France, Germany, are all involved in both Wars. The involvement is viewed drastically differently.

I'd say that most in the West would support Ukraine over Russia. Yet with Israel Palestine, the empathy seems lies with Palestine.

    International politics is very confusing.

  8. Hello. Has anyone played Overcooked 2? Is it just me or is it overly difficult? It looks to have be very simple. Depending upon the mode you pick. You'll be playing as a single chef or as a chef and waiter team. The objective being to prepare dishes that are sent out to the restaurant.

I'm finding that the orders come way too quickly and I run out of time. I bet it's a riot as a two player co op.

  9. Warning (Daily Motion)

Punjab language movie. Set in rural Punjab and its criminal politically connected society. There are very few good people in this film. It has elements of City of God about it. The main character does his best to initiate himself into a gang by murdering a rival gang leader. The resultant reprisals form the rest of the story. The film is a dark comedy and its quite difficult to take it seriously at times.  Didn't stop me enjoying it. Its quite a departure from usual Indian Cinema. It tries to be gritty and removes the glamour that tends to wash over the usual output from the Indian continent. Its certainly not a Bollywood song and dance affair. The film leaves the audience with a cliff hanger. Warning 2 is currently in production. Hopefully it'll be easier to track down than Warning.

Most people will need to find a subtitled version. The film dialogue is obviously in Punjabi and I doubt that Warning has been dubbed Into any other languages.

  10. A bit like a tax haven?

It seems that the idea of Freeport's has been tried before. Local Enterprise Partnership was the name. An idea pushed in 2011 and in the 80s.

The assessment of the Enterprise Zones in the 80's ALSO found that 80% of the jobs "created" were actually taken from other places.

Will the new designation of "Freeport's" change the findings of a future assessment. Or is this another attempt at something that doesn't necessarily work? Certainly not for those at the bottom of the rung.

Will Freeport's  create migration of workforce?

It's something I'm trying to learn more about.
