Looks like it's on FITE TV.

    Saturday morning.

This had some very strange presentation. They've filmed it in an empty gym/studio. Then super imposed a cgi arena around the ring. Whilst also adding a filter/ texture map. That made the fighters and referee look like video game characters. I'm not really sure what this was.

The only ones on there at the moment are ringside so are astronomical prices but I'd be really surprised if there wasn't more nearer the event.

There is ticketswap as well, which mates of mine have used, but I haven't. That seems to be on the level*

*Don't come to me when you've been scammed out of your life savings and end up with a coach travel ticket from Birmingham thanks.

Cheers. I'll keep an eye out.

IOC have now weighed in. The protesting wrestlers had made a commitment to dispose of their medals in the Ganga river. At a reverred location. After intervention from one of the supporting groups. The medals were not disposed of, for now. The farmer union which has lent its support to the Wrestlers protest. Has asked for a 5 day stay, from the protesting wrestlers. The intention is to apply political pressure upon the Government and WFI to treat the matter seriously and take action against the head of the WFI.

Plenty of dirty tactics being used by the authorities to suppress and label the protest as having no merit.

Olympic level wrestlers have been protesting in India for over a month. Against the Wrestling Federation of India president. Who is accused of sexually assaulting female wrestlers. The wrestlers and other supporting groups had intended to protest at the inauguration of the new  Indian parliament today. They're not being allowed to and there are some disturbing videos coming out of India. Showing heavy handed police action against the protestors. As well as detaining and impeding supporting groups from joining the protest.

If anyone has watched the film Dangal. A film about the Phogat family. And the father daughter relationship as he trains his daughters to be high level wrestlers. This Phogat family are involved in the protests.

  5. I would have thought the same about Leicester East. It's always been Labour. Yet we've had a change to Conservative. When anyone in their right mind can see that they're completely the wrong people to have in government. Whether there's a competent alternative is highly questionable. The Cons took a battering nationally. Yet this former Labour stronghold bucked that trend. Having an Asian PM is partly the reason. The poor voter turnout is another huge factor.

The number of people that I know who neglected to vote is absolutely astonishing. They just can't be bothered. How can that attitude be changed?

I would argue that the fact that some peoples' votes don't matter is a bigger issue.

    Please expand on that.

I work for Leicester City Council. Our team manage and maintain the street lighting and festival lighting. From my experience councillor engagement is quite strong and they do bring forward the public's concerns. We are constantly held to account by local councillors on lighting matters. This is also true for other teams within the council.

  7. The belief that a person's vote does not matter is a problem. That attitude pervades and creates apathy. Leicester East, a majority Asian area, voted in a number of Tory councillors in the recent election. Voter turnout was 60% at best. It was as low as 22% in some wards. That's just fucking shit. How can supposedly intelligent people be convinced that their vote is important? I've seen mention of young voters being more engaged. That certainly does not seem to be the case in Leicester East.

Labour, despite managing to hold the City, didn't help their cause. Mainly by dividing elements of their asian vote bank with internal subterfuge.

  8. I remember watching a French documentary on BBC 3 a number of years ago. It covered a similar topic to the video above.  A number of Sugarwork patisserie chef were followed on their journey in preparing and competing in their highly prestigious peer review. Think Pumping Iron but with French Patisserie chefs creating elaborate sugar work sculptures.  I remember it being very gripping and there are some very dramatic moments during the final stages of judging.

Does anyone know what this documentary is called and where I can find it?
