  1. That's a fabulous write up @SuperBacon. The show is definitely one of my all time favourites, I love every one of the gang and so many of the side characters - Snail, the McPoyles, Artemis, Cricket - it's always hard to disassociate them from their Sunny characters when they show up in something else. Far too many of my popular culture references are Sunny related.

I was lucky enough to see the live recording of the podcast at the Albert Hall last year, getting tickets was hard work but so worth it.

TIL there was/is a Russians version of Sunny called 'Its always Sunny in Moscow' and the bar is called Philadelphia

    Ah, the Fieri shirt

That's just what I was about to post! Those shorts make me think of Guy Fieri and nothing else.

  3. I have seen it advertised in India but never bothered to look in to it as milk straight from the cow is an acquired taste that I err haven't acquired.

  4. @Bellenda Carlisle It's good to know I'm on the right tracks. I tried quite a few instants but generally found them too acidic/bitter but Azera has just the right balance for me.

I've not tried the Aldi version, will keep an eye out for it though I've recently bulk bought my Azera from Costco.

We have food waste bins here, but the Tassimo pods are non compostable. However, I wasn't aware that some brand's pods could go in the food bin. I'll have to look into that and maybe make a change down the road.

I think it's mainly the Nescafé machine ones that are compostable rather than Tassimo. I have a Tassimo machine and it's in the loft now mainly because I stopped using it.

I've been drinking coffee more than a year but I'm far from a snob as I've only started to regularly drink it since I've had kids, tea did the trick before that. I drink Azera and only recently discovered that, I'm sure most of you will be disgusted. I am quite snobby about tea though

  6. I didn't know how much we would use the air fryer (we use it a lot) so I got the one drawer thinking it would be better for saving space too, but I now wish we had got the two drawer as much like yourself @Keith Houchen we would have benefited from a vegetarian drawer and a meat drawer.

  7. As I understand it, all staining is due to enamel or the lack there of. So things like sugar and fizzy drink erode enamel, your teeth are then porous (some people's are more naturally porous than others) and then things like coffee can stain your teeth as the enamel (which is white) is no longer protecting them.

This is why things like whitening toothpastes are actually a false economy because they may make your teeth look whiter in the short term but they wear away at your enamel so in the long term will cause more discolouration.

  8. I have the same one as @Carbomb but the single drawer version due to lack of storage space. I would highly recommend it, it's a great air fryer.

I think the dehydration mode is mainly for making dried fruit from what I can tell so dried apple is an easy one to start with. Dried mango is the best dried fruit but I've never tried to make it myself

  9. Cool Runnings is an absolute classic.

Bend it like Beckham is the only other sports film I can think of that has really hung in my memory, excellent film though I haven't watched it in years so not sure if it holds up the test of time.

  10. The correct term is, “hear, hear!” It is an abbreviation for 'hear, all ye good people, hear what this brilliant and eloquent speaker has to say!'

I've found decaf to be perfect for when I want a coffee but don't want to be bouncing off the walls all night. So for me that's any time after noon.

I am quite sensitive to caffeine so stick to decaf coffee in the afternoons too but I can't start the day without tea or coffee of the caffeinated variety.

I also craved coffee (and Coca Cola) in my second pregnancy so decaf was a saviour.

  12. Decaf has it's place, but when you want caffeinated there is absolutely no substitute so I too would be stomping to the shop.

And fuck anyone who says they feel better after cutting out caffeine. Bully for you, throw yourself a party.

  13. I have wondered if there is some undiagnosed ADHD/neurodiversity though I'm sure with his wealth of involvement from therapist etc it's probably been explored. I think it was John Virgo who said he is the greatest sportsman of all time and given the level he is playing at at the lofty (for sport) age of 48, I really think he may be.

  14. Ahh thank you. I will avoid Snackverse.

Snackd does look decent, I like that they list the ingredients of stuff in the boxes so I can be confident that stuff is vegetarian. They don't say that they attempt to make the boxes veggie friendly but I guess I can always share with Mr Deathrey and he can eat the non-veggie stuff.

Now.... Should I finish my Mini Eggs before I order?

  15. @SuperBaconis it the snack verse box that you get/have gotten? It showed up on my Instagram feed today and I'm tempted as they say they try to keep the boxes vegetarian which is rare. Are they any good?

  16. @RedRooster Based on your reviews, I bought some of the Leithal Hot sauces for my husband and brother for Christmas. I got them The Ocean Terminator and The Swanny Bomb. Not tried the later yet but The Ocean Terminator is lovely. I didn't really find it hot at all to be honest but it has a lovely flavour and has become a permanent fixture in cheese toasties from now on so thanks.

I used to live walking distance (and now about 20 mins driving distance) from The Hyde Park Picture House in Leeds. It’s a grade 2 listed building, a refurbished single screen cinema with most of its original features intact. it It originally opened in 1914. Last surviving gaslit cinema in the UK. The street lamp outside is also gas lit and is also protected.

It closed for some much needed maintenance and repair during the pandemic but has thankfully reopened. Any time it closes for a bit people panic and think it’s shutting down,  but it receives Heritage Lottery funding along with other support and donations and thankfully remains wetherspoons-proof.

It is the most delightful cinema experience, also has very cheap tickets. Often shows very odd indie and art house movies. Was my go-to spot for the Leeds International Film Festival too. It’s a magical place.

Hyde Park Picture house is an absolute gem. Long may is stand and continue to operate as a cinema. Did you see their social media during the refurb? They detailed lots of stuff throughout but the most fascinating for me was the stuff, essentially rubbish, that they found stuffed behind the seats and the such. Chocolate wrappers from 70 years ago, old crisp packaging, it was like a little history in litterform!
