I need to add, I am generally anti putting chocolate in the fridge, I'm not a heathen.
-
I can understand the lure of putting them in the fridge, if they get warm, you don't get that satisfying crack when you bite in to the shell. Currently, no fridge is needed. They are in the garage so I don't eat them all at once and have to make an effort to get them (not much mind, I don't actually have to go outside to get in the garage). It's bloody freezing in there at the moment, probably colder than the fridge.

That foreseeable future for me would be about an hour.
I went in the shop specifically to buy them as it's been a shitter of a couple of days, the man behind the till gave me a right look..... I'll still go back for more when I run out.

How is today going you ask? Today I bought a 1kg bag of Cadbury Mini Eggs.
This will be my snack for the foreseeable futureÂ

Did she ever advise putting ghee on your baby's anus? As that was the home remedy mine advised for constipation...
That's hilarious. Mine didn't but she did tell me to drink it in milk for a month leading up to me giving birth as it would make it easier so I'm guessing its a similar 'science'? I think the reaction she would have anticipated from me probably scared her off suggesting it for constipation.

Some absolute wrongun on that Dull Men's Club the other day was trying to advocate for a spoonful of BUTTER in coffee.
Please don't let anyone from here out themselves with similar. I'm having a bad enough day as it is.
Was it my mum by any chance? This is an old Indian woman's remedy to everything, rather clarified butter than regular butter but put it in any hot drink containing milk and it is apparently the answer to pretty much any health problem. Diabetes? Butter in hot milk. Cold? Butter in hot milk. Sore throat? Butter in hot milk. Arthritis? Butter in hot milk. Add a bit of tumeric and it will turn you in to an invincible God.

@deathrey Tom actually wrote some Busted songs, Year 3000 and Crashed The Wedding, so obviously they’re the best ones. He wrote for One Direction as well!
Â
I didn't know that he had written for One Direction, they also have some great pop songs, particularly the later stuff whilst Zayn was still there. I'll have to look up what he was responsible for.
I still think Busted are shit.

I think I've said this before but I really bloody love McFly. They have some absolute bangers and are masters of their genre. It confuses me when I see people go on about how wonderful Busted were because frankly, their music was shit, but McFly are genuinely a really talented band and as @Scratchsaid, seem like really lovely blokes.

He does pinky promise, he asked if you have tested it by pressing the horn? If that's not working then it won't work.
I will name it on his behalf - Doctors without Borders please

Not now Gus, I need to know about my horn!!!!
I asked Mr Deathrey who is pretty car savvy (serviced his own car for years etc) and he said that if the fuse is removed then the horn can't make a sound.

@BigJag It's a sad state of affairs. The first mistake was trusting the Indian government to do anything, especially something that is just and fair. They don't even feel the need to keep up the pretence for the general population as they don't care what the electorate think.
I hope it doesn't stop people from coming forward in the future and maybe India can be shamed in to taking action.

@BigJag They actually make Modi look like a reasonable human being (he is a closet genocidal maniac)

Danny especially. That's going to be a proper gut punch. I hope I get offered an egg in that trying time when it happens.
A slight aside, but my brother requested some art work for his house for Christmas and on my search, I found ou there is a surprising amount of Frank Reynolds influenced artwork available, I highly recommend Googling it.

Oh, I forgot Sir Patrick Stewart, we are from the same town and he is a local legend, I won't hear a bad word said against him and he is most definitely put on a pedestal. Other than Harold Wilson (and more recently Jodie Whittaker and Lena Heady) there are no other famous people from my town.

Completely agree with those who have said Sir Alex Ferguson. I have no real interest in football anymore and haven't really had any interest in it for the last 15 years or so, but that loss will definitely be felt. The word 'icon' and the term 'G.O.A.T' are thrown around a lot nower days and awarded quite lightly to people but I think Sir Alex is a genuine contender for both of those terms.
Â
I adore both Mike Patton and Eric Cantona and will mourn both massively when they pass but hopefully that day is very far away.
-
That sounds horrific @Keith Houchen, I hope you are both ok. I don't blame your girlfriend for wanting too take things further, I would also want to in her position - it's someone making her feel unsafe in her own home.

I'm also glad to see the back of 2023, on the whole it's been a complete garbage fire of a year and 2024 looks to be shaping up to be a difficult one too.
This place is always a nice little welcome break from reality and you guys always put a little smile on my face. All the best to you wonderful lot for 2024.

I think organisation like Doctors without borders are probably a good place to start, as far as I know, they are still sending doctors to help in Gaza. I have been donating to specific appeals - formula and nappies for babies and sanitary products for women with the hope that they are getting there somehow. I know limited aid was getting in via Egypt and I guess I'm still donating because I want to feel like I'm at least doing something and hoping that it is getting to them.

We are in Huddersfield at my mum and dads for Christmas and I've never seen wind like it. It's still howling away. I hope everyone is keeping safe..... And I hope my fence is still up when I get home as I hear it's quite bad there too.

Maggi noodles are so popular in India that Maggi has essentially become the name for noodles. I remember visiting when I was a teen and my cousin asking me if I wanted 'a bowl of Maggi'. I was completely unaware of the brand and very confused at his description until he showed me the packet and then I knew instantly (I thought 'ahh Bachelor's super noodles but Indian').

I find Claudia Winkleman inexplicably annoying, in fact, her presence is usually enough to make me switch off.

Lovely stuff @FelatioLips
My ultimate aim is to one day be able to roast my own, and have my own coffee van/brand which will be hip hop themed (Café La Soul, don't steal this please) with all rap related puns (I have about 20 already) but this is a pipedream, and for now I'll keep with the in kitchen shenanigans.Â
But who knows, maybe one day you'll be able to purchase my lemon hinted coffee, A Tribe Called Zest *ahem*
Oh I also have a fantastic cold brew kit that my ex has stolen and I'm too scared to ask for it back.
My cousin's husband actually has a hip hop themed cafe and does similar, it is very cool. I don't think he does his own roasts though. It's a great idea though so best of luck if you do do it.
Snack Attack.

I remember seeing on a cooking show that freezing Mini Eggs and then putting them in to a brownie batter and in to the oven makes the best Mini Eggs brownie because they stay in tact and kind of crispy. I've never tried it, but I might this year given the large amount of Mini Eggs I now have.
The chocolate orange Mini Eggs are also great in case anyone was wondering.
