Wrestling in the Bournemouth area

Recommended Posts

Your opinion on the show is fine, that's your choice, but to confirm the kid who got hit was standing up several feet in front of the front row where he shouldn't have been, and was checked on immedietly after the incident and was fine and I think was given some free merchandise as an apology.

Just got back, good crowd, a little down from the usual size but they made alot of noise. Oh and the Bournemouth Echo was there doing a piece on wrestling in the pavillion.

Match 1: Jimmy Meadows vs. Dave Murphy.

Murphy got over pretty quick as a heel even though I thought the match story was originally meant to be Meadows scored the fall and Murphy goes nuts. Both were pretty good wrestler and had a fun match. Murphy was very good. Meadows got the first fall with a quick roll up. Murphy got the second fall after something I've forgotten. Then Murphy won with an deathlock variation.

Winner - Dave Murphy.

Match 2: Jonny Storm vs. Bill Duffy.

Jonny was super over with the crowd and Duffy was a good heel with temper tantrums and boasting galore. Very good match but started off a little ropey. Duffy got the first fall with a twist of fate/ace cutter variation. Jonny got the second fall with a crossbody. The third fall went to Jonny after a 619.

Winner: Jonny Storm

Intermission: Storm sold Rey Mysterio masks and other stuff.

Match 3: Karl Atlas vs. Chuck Cyrus.

Cyrus had one of th coolest indie wardrobes ever. Atlas is incredibly impressive in the ring. Atlas won the first fall with a big splash, Cyrus asked for his cape after getting the advantage to go to the second rope but it fell off. Funny. Cyrus got the second fall with a One Night Stand. Finally, Atlas, after some amazing power moves (in particular reversing the muta handspring elbow into a killer suplex) won with a second rope splash. Killer.

Winner: Karl Atlas

Match 4: Survivor Series Match: Jonny Storm, Marty Scrull and Danny Flynt vs. Karl Atlas, Masked Empereror and Ben Blaze.

Elmination rules. Scrull was having fun, him and Jonny did a great job getting the crowd into the match. Flynt was the first to go after alot of fun exchanges (including a top rope spank from jonny to Blaze.) Blaze was eliminated by a Scrull superkick. Atlas used the ropes to pin Scrull and as Scrull stood outside the ring taunting Atlas Jonny scored a sneaky pin with a roll up. Finally, Storm hit a top rope dropkick and the Masked Empereror couldn't answer the ten count.

Winners: Jonny Storm, Marty Scrull and Danny Flynt.

Coming back August for a summer season (a show every Tuesday).

Brilliant little show last night, great atmosphere. 6 contests in total.

I didn't take note of the of the results but the highlights were the opening bout featuring Jay Knox versus Justin Starr. Starr pinned Knox using the ropes, setting up a tag contest later on with chosen tag partners. Starr's chosen partner was Klondyke Kate and Knox chose Connie Steel. This bout featuring veteran heel Kate really made the event.

Any Simonz also on the bill, the MC did a fantastic job hyping him as a wrestling who's appeared for the WWE.

The evening was topped off with a Rumble won by Simonz.

Hopefully someone else took note of the results, there was a few names I was unfamiliar with.

The next show is in November.

Professional wrestling came to Ferndown with a bang last night as Fightstar presented a top class show, to a packed Barrington Centre containing well over 100 people

Justin Starr beat Jay Knox after an entertaining opener in which young Jay was obviously the young local hero matched against the much heavier and far more experienced villain, Justin Starr.

The crowd got very excited during this match and they were very angry with the result, when Starr won courtesy of some illegal use of the ropes.

Knox was incensed by his cheating tactics and immediately demanded a rematch.

It was agreed that each man would choose a tag partner and they would meet again later tonight.

The second match was introduced as being between

Just got back from the first Premier Promotions show of the summer season. Fair size crowd. Tommy Stevens referee.

1. Karl Atlas vs. Josh Devonshire. Atlas is fast becoming one of my fav wrestlers on the British scene. Josh was alright but he was a little aqwkard in certain spots. Atlas dominated the match with Josh doing the face in peril all the way through. Atlas won the first fall with a big splash. Josh got the second fall with an inside cradle. Atlas then beat Josh down and hit him with a chokeslam and second rope splash for the knockout win.

Winner:Atlas by KO

2. Kris Kay vs. Joel Redman. Redman is really over with Bournemouth and Kay was very effective as a heel. This match was to determine who would face Robbie Brookside next week for the PWF Title. After a long and even match, with Kay using lots of closed fists, Joel Redman scored the first fall with a roll up after a Johnny Saint-esque run around. Kay then went to work on Redmans knee and scored back to back submissions with a sharpshooter variation. Very good match and Redman looked very impressive as well as Kris Kay. Very good match.

Winner: Kris Kay 2 falls to 1

Intermisson: Doug Williams signed photos, Superfan Eli had his photo taken with younger fans for his antics.

3. Doug Williams vs. Andy Simmonz. Before the match John Freemantle started to talk about Williams over the years and started to well up. Williams looked usually great and Simmonz was on top form. First fall went to Doug after the top rope European Uppercut. After another round Simmonz equalised by reverse the sunset flip and holding the ropes. Then the action heated up. Simmonz and Doug exchanged a number of holds and blows and Eventually Simmons wa down and Doug went for the top rope knee, but the bottom rope broke. Williams and Simmons continued but the ref then blew the next sequence, Simmons was going to do the sunset flip, hold the ropes, ref kicks hands away spot. The ref started to kick the ropes before counting and looked pretty lost. Williams quickly put the match away with an inside cradle. Good match but it went a bit south after the rope broke

Winner: Doug Williams 2 falls to 1

Joel Redman came out and took the bottom rope away.To a great ovation.

4. Pretty Boy Dan Walsh vs. Barry Cooper. Walsh is hilarious. Lots of spots where Walsh would ask different women to kiss his boo boos better ending with his crotch. Big spot was Cooper pouring water over Walsh's crotch. Barry Cooper won the first fall quickly with another inside cradle. Then Walsh hit a big elbow between rounds. Walsh scored the second fall with a middle rope elbow. Finish was Walsh missing a top rope elbow but missing and getting rolled up for the win. Walsh was pretty good but Cooper is only adequate at best.

Winner: Barry Cooper 2 falls to 1

Overall: Fun evening. Highly recommend it. Like to go to the others but might not be able to. Wait and see.
