I just watched the Unrated version of 'Hancock' and was surprised to see there was a sex scene, which wasn't shown in cinemas.

It revolved around the fact that he was reluctant to nail this girl that was flirting with him because if he spurted into or onto her it would be forceful enough to fire a hole through her.

I'm watching the extras now and am hoping to hear that this idea was based on the conversion between Brody & T.S. in 'Mallrats' in which they discussed why Superman couldn't have sex with human women. Very similar premises.

Turned out the 5 minute sex scene is the only noticable difference to the version I saw at the cinema.

Captivity

First movie that LoveFilm decided to send me off my rather large 'I might want to see it one day' list.

This pretty much got a slating from people, the lead character inspired NO sympathy from me at all, I mean apart from being in a horrible situation I didn't think she was a decent member of the community to start with so hey, also the whole opening bit was a bit strange too, meeting who?

The 'psycological' terror had some nasty parts (nice shake) but it really didn't push it too far when it could have. Twist was blatant from the moment 'it' appeared.

At the end all I could think was "what on earth happened to Tenacious D...." but hey, honestly it wasn't as awful as I was expecting it to be.

Forgottten Kingdom

I really enjoyed this. It left me with a huge smile on my face, If I had to describe it in 3 words they would be "Disney Kung-Fu Movie" don't expect anything clever, just watch as a movie thats there to entertain and I think it does it's job admirably.

The fight scenes are pretty good as well, apart from the Westener who's hilariously shit, but then he's supposed to be I suppose. Good stuff.

Prepare to be disappointed; that's from the book that it's (very loosely) based on..

The original premise/script was called: "Tonight, he cums". No wonder it took so long to get made.

Lots of spoilers below....

Saw The Day the Earth Stood Still last week. Very poor. The whole thing seemed to have no point... aliens arrive, cute kid gets scared, turns out its just Ted Logan ESQ. He mopes around a bit, mentions in passing that he might destroy the world. For some reason the Yanks capture part of the spaceship, which turns into insects. Reeves meets Basil Fawlty, they blabber on a bit about humans being alright and stuff. Cute kid cries about dead dad. Reeves stops insects and goes home. Bag 'o shite.

Saw The Edge of Love last night. I liked Atonement so thought it was might be an easy going watch. Instead, it bored me to tears. I failed to grasp the whole point of it, and the actors couldn't even rise to Neighbours actors standards for any bit that would be deemed dramatic, and thats being kind, and the direction and script were beyond drab. I really fail to see who the film is aimed it, as its so fucking boring.

Watched three flicks this afternoon... first up Teeth, which stretched a pretty lacklustre premise into a 90 minute feature which tried to convey some form of message, which very much got lost when a dog ate someones cock, which has been chewed off by a fanny with teeth during sex. Uh huh.

Next up was Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer. It couldn't decide whether this was meant to be a parody or was just shit. Instead, the only highlights were the beyond bad special effects/make up, which would have looked shit 30 years ago, and Robert Englund whoring himself out, looking rather like Salman Rusdie.

Finally there was British low budget horror: Mum and Dad. A neat little film, which had some pretty engaging moments. Some of the plot was a bit half baked, in particular scenes that involved previous captures, and there isnt much here if you wanted Saw style gore. Though any film that has a guy wanking into a piece of flesh before eating it for breakfast the next day, is certainly orginal. Well worth a watch.

Watched Ghost Town.

Hated it to be honest, I may have been biased due to my hate of Gervais but I didn't find it funny at all.

I found it fairly amusing despite my hatred of Gervais. It was still essentially just him playing himself again though.

Pirates 2: Stagnetti's Revenge

Apparently the most expensive porno ever made. And I say I watched it, I saw a trailer for it after looking through the most popular film downloads on Isohunt and wondering what the hell it was. Lots of attractive young ladies and plain-looking men up to all sorts of shenanigans. Imagine, if you will, a really cheap pirate film with a bunch of sex in it. I really didn't watch it.

Re: Religulous, I'll be having a watch of that later. The thing with Bill Maher, he seemed to take a pretty big leap to the right after 9/11 and I wasn't sure how far back he's come since.

Depending on how you look at the film and the way he presents himself you will start to think that he's simply trying to say "all religious people are idiots" as he does tend to bash religion in quite a forceful way.

However the meeting with the holocaust denying rabbi seemed to get at him and he ended the interview which was surprising.

After receiving 'Meet Dave' on dvd for xmas, I've just finished watching the dvd extras.

- an alternate ending

- a 22 minute making-of documentary,

- a 7 minute featurette

- 4 deleted scenes

- a gag reel

- footage from the movie's premiere

.... none of which, and I do mean NONE of which feature Eddie Murphy!

They interviewed the entire main cast and crew but Murphy does not appear at all.

Sounds like a bonus feature in itself.

 Harsh.

Just watched WALL-E again. It's a charming little film which I really enjoy. And although it's jumping on the "carbon fotprint" bandwagon, I guess it sends out an important message to the little kiddlies. Let's just hope they don't spoil it with sequals.

I watched Game Boys last night, on youtube. Its really a glorified home movie, however, its written incredibly well and is a lot of fun.

The 'How to beat video games' take off on Custer's revenge was ingenious, and the chubby guy attempting to seek out said game had me rolling at certain points. Several other fabulous lines and jokes to be had as well, and this is coming from a 20 year old who wasn't avidly playing old school video games back in the days. If my knowledge on retro games had been more up to speed, I would have likely appreciated all the references even more.

Downloaded that new Brad Pitt one "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button"

The premise sounds really interesting, I haven't watched it yet but will do.

Anyone seen it?

To be honest I first thought it was based on a true story, but came to realise I was sorely mistaken.

Got Batman the Dark Knight for Xmas and watched it this afternoon and was really disapointed after all the talk about it being so good. Batman sounded like flippin Phil Mitchell :p

The film was too long and drawn out, the Batman actor was crap, no Bat Cave, no Wayne Manor and the film was too serious. I didn't like the Joker either really even though he was meant to be so good in the role. I prefer the Tim Burton vision of Batman where it was more gothic rather than just violent and horrible. Why did Batman even go to Hong Kong and there be no Kung Fu?

I used to collect comics and a friend of mine put down the Spiderman films who still collects them but the Spidey series has been much better than the 2 new Batman films.

I'll watch it again and give it another go but it just wasn't as good as it ought to have been. If you'd never seen a Batman film before you might like it but most people have and we know who Two Face and the Joker are so they needed to have thought about continuity from the last films. You can always bring back the villains whatever happens.
