They're not shooting up, or wrecking town centres, or robbing grannies. There are worse things that they could be doing with their time.

That's true I suppose.Plus the fact that I haven't been that entertained by a programme (apart from the odd few) in a long time."CHOKESLAM IN THE NETTLES!!!"

This is just what British Wrestling needs, seriously. This is showing how stupid and dangerous BYW is. Parents are watching this, and now they might take control of what the little retards are doing. This documentry has really took the piss good style. This has proved to everyone that BYW is a joke, and now people can see that BYW is not Wrestling, its kids being egged on by UKBYW forums. I think its about time parents were educated on BYW.I enjoyed the docu, its just a shame that British Wrestling can not get the air time for a decent docu.Gary

***delivers a smug smile***About time some company got round to making this... I sent a TV company my documnetary on Backyard Wrestling LAST YEAR, and I'd been working on it for a year previous to that. And as for it's format, it was exactly the same as mine... I smell a lawsuit. As for the content, I'm chuffed Selby got some proper training, as when I met him I could tell he had talent, but needed to channel it in a better direction.Personally, most of them look like a bunch of socially inept, sad teenager, especially the pair who were the only two members of that XHW fed. (Which, by the way, featured the lamest bumps ever.)Hopefully, this will signal the end of BYW, and not cuase a resurgence, but I think the people who came off the worst were the parents.FOR CHRIST SAKES, DISCIPLINE YOUR CHILDREN!!!Overall, it wasn't too bad, and probably won't cause the expected WWE backlash, as the only time they were mentioned is when that girl was playing with the figures, and that's hardly a crime, just juvanile.CZW should expect a bit more of a cult following from the gore-hungry kids though.By the way, this topic's going to be discussed on Powerslam Radio this weekend, so if you've got an opinion you want read out on air, send us your thoughts to radio@powerslam.co.uk

BRITISH TELEVISION DOCUMENTARY-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello...I got your email address off of the internet - I am a researcher for Channel 4 television in the UK and we are making a  documentary about Backyard fighting/wrestling. I am keen to find some people who can shed some light on this pastime as well as provide some exciting viewing...I would be grateful if you could email me on eddie_stardust@hotmail.com leaving me your contact details and either the director or myself will get in touch with you immediately. I look forward to hearing from you.Highest,Ed Stafford

That is genuine, and was posted on the UKBYW Forum on Nov 18, 2002.

An entertaining watch. Seeing the Dropkixx bit made me sad that I can't go back to the FWA academy until I can drive (which is, hm, a year and a half. If only I had the transport and the money..), but if anyone knows a wrestling school in Surrey or abouts then that would be great. As for the show, I'd really like it if my friends were interested in wrestling, because although I think getting glass shoved into your body to impress a couple of idiots on a forum is ridiculous, I'd enjoy actually messing around with some basic wrestling once in a while. Personally, I wouldn't find being called a 'Legend' by that lot flattering in the slightest, but hey, whatever works for him. Do they all really need to put on American accents though? That kind of got annoying. :/ I'm fine with those guys meeting up, having fun together, but only if its clean, normal wrestling and not wasting money on lights only to break them over your best friends head a couple of hours later, and so on.

I can't help wondering why two untrained teenagers were allowed/encouraged to execute a wide range of paraplegia-tempting moves in the ring at a legitimate school, in front of a baying crowd.

Backyard WRESTLING! What part of Backyard wrestling involves actual wrestling? How can these guys call themselves wrestlers??This is why i'm glad I don't (can't actually) follow the the US Independant wrestling scene.

Exactly~!In the words of a certain sparkle-mouthed wrestler, that's not a bad thing, that's a good thing.

Check my post a few minutes ago on the pinned topic! Slickster

Sorry! Great minds must think alike! :D By the way, I just checked that board, and there's already been one guy telling everyone that's he's setting up a backyard fed in Northern Ireland and that anyone interested should email him! Looks like this programme may have glorified the whole thing, rather than expose/condemn it.

One of my points exactly.

I just seen the programme and I thought it was quite hillarous. I laughed out loud when those morons were calling themselves legends and icons, what a joke. But my funniest bit was the guy who was wearing the Great Sasuke mask got hurt and the commentator said in an 'american' accent "Are you faking this or are you hurt".I'm suprised that parents let their child to this stuff, because if I had a child, I sure as hell wouldn't let it do the idiotic stuff these backyarders would do.

That's one of the most hideously uninformed comments I've ever heard on here.Go and tell that to guys like Homicide, CM Punk and American Dragon, or better yet, go and pick up some tapes and get rid of thatignorant opinion you have there.

Bumps in BYW should be lame. BYW should be "play wrestling", not consensual mutilation. The light tube, barbed wire, stop sign malarky shouldn't occupy the same sentence as the word wrestling.

Great minds indeed do think alike obviously!I saw that twat with his NI message on that forum, I replied and told him that if he wanted to do 'proper' wrestling instead of pissing about, to go to a proper school.Bunch of twats, the lot of them.Slickster
