AAA Rey de Reyes 2026 Discussion

The event will take place on March 14, 2026 and will air as a three-week event, airing every Saturday on episodes of Lucha Libre AAA from March 14 to March 28, 2026. 

WEEK #1 (MARCH 14TH)

• AAA Mega Championship - No Disqualification Match: Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. El Hijo del Vikingo (If Mysterio wins, Vikingo can't challenge for the title as long as Mysterio is champion. If Vikingo wins, Mysterio has to leave AAA)
• Rey de Reyes Tournament Final La Parka vs. "The Original" El Grande Americano vs. El Grande Americano vs. Santos Escobar (to determine the #1 contender for the AAA Mega Championship)
• AAA Reina de Reinas Championship: Flammer (c) vs. ? (This will be an open challenge)

WEEK #2 (MARCH 21ST)

• AAA World Tag Team Championship: Pagano and Psycho Clown (c) vs. The War Raiders 
• Relevos Australianos Match: Lola Vice, Mr. Iguana and Rey Fénix vs. La Hiedra and Money Machine (Garra de Oro and Colmillo de Plata)

WEEK #3 (MARCH 28TH)

• AAA Cruiserweight Championship: Laredo Kid (c) vs. Dragon Lee vs. TJP vs. Jack Cartwheel

Really enjoying AAA. Just simple, fun, easy to watch pro wrestling.

I'm interested in the main event. My gut tells me Vikingo will win but Dom is hugely over in AAA so I can't see him leaving permanently.

There has to be a mask v mask match between the Americano's at some point and I hope it is in AAA and not WWE because the heat levels in Mexico will be off the charts. 

Interested to see who they have Flammer wrestle too. 

I am lobbying for the Tokyo Bad Boys to get a push and hopefully Los Garzas will get used more too. AAA could have a decent tag division if some time and effort is spent on it.

Apparently Nino Hamburguesa has been released after a video of him being thrown into the crowd, landing in a fans lap and then repeatedly elbowing them in the face has made the rounds.

I'm sure a few months ago there was a report about El Hijo del Vikingo treading on El Grande Americano's neck or something and EGA, understandably, getting narked about it.

Now, El Hijo del Vikingo lobs a chair at Dom and gives him a nasty cut to the head (and maybe a concussion). Accidents happen, yes, but hopefully Vikingo does not get a rep with the WWE guys as being someone who is reckless. 

Another enjoyable watch - the long interview segment at the start is a WWE trope that I don't want to see carried over to AAA but every now and then I can live with. 

Am looking forward to next week.

Quick question because i somehow can't find the answer on this online....have all 3 weeks already been pretaped or is it live every saturday?

I always just see clips of AAA and i really enjoy it (used to watch it years ago) and would like to become a regular viewer again but find the schedule confusing.

I believe they are all filmed like NXT used to be - three or four weeks at a time in the one location with the first week being live.

This weekend's show was recorded 2 weeks ago, but the April 4th show was actually recorded in February.   They have another TV taping scheduled for April 11th (episode 1 will be live)
