I think this merits its own thread, rather than it being shunted in with the general AEW programming thread.

One of the greatest shows AEW has ever produced is coming to an end:

If you’ve done this as a last minute ploy to win a UKFF Award RJ, I hope you succeed.

I suppose he’s interviewed pretty much everyone he can, but still - I’m really sad to see the show end and I really hope RJ City has exciting things planned for the future. I’ll miss this.

Feel free to post your memories and clips from the show, it definitely deserves a proper tribute thread!

Yeah it’s devastating. I listened to an interview a few months ago where RJ said it’s closer to the end than the beginning, so have been dreading this announcement. I just hope RJ has something else in the pipeline to help with the withdrawals.

Shame for me as it was the only appointment viewing in wrestling I bothered with. Off the top of my head, I was really amused with the dramatic Coronation Street reading with Regal, asking Butcher, Blade & Bunny when they began their interests with polyamory and when he had Ruby Soho on, she absolutely didn't seem to play along and RJ dropped one of my all time favourite lines.

"You identify with the punk rock movement. Is that because you're a DIY rebel, or because you don't know what you stand for anymore."

Anyway some lovely person online did a near hour long comp of some notable funny bits. RJ City is a boon. Wonderful man.

The Arn Anderson episode is probably my favourite one. Some great lines and hilarious all the way through.

Skye Blue not getting any joke and RJ pulling teeth to get something out of her was a good watch just for how hard RJ tried.

Gutted! He's so quick-witted, I really enjoyed the videos. As others have said, I really hope he has something else lined up.

My favourite episodes are probably still his interview with Taz:

And his interview with Mariah May, which really established how funny and how talented she is:

My least favourite would be the Roderick Strong episode, which is where my dislike of the guy began. And that point his obsessive friend character seemed to have potential, and it hadn’t devolved into him simply shouting names. The episode made clear, however, that he simply didn’t have the wit or comedic talent to be anything more than that.

There have been a few duffers. Hangman's episode is a bit meh because he's just rather relaxed and too easy doing. Skye Blue seems baffled by the concept. The Mox interview is actually nothing amazing beyond Renée (I'm assuming) somehow finally convincing him. The only highlight being 'lets get Cincinnaughty' and you just briefly see Mox almost break into a smile, but he doesn't fully break. It's how I imagine Vince was like when he'd try to suppress a sneeze.

I'm trying to think who he didn't get on the show. Don Callis, Kenny Omega and Christian Cage are the three that come to mind.

Christian Cage is kinda baffling, if anyone was going to excel in that format, it’s him. Not that I think it’s the format for her, but I don’t recall Mercedes Mone having done it either.

Fantastic final episode. I really hope RJ finally gets his UKFF due and wins best non-wrestler this year, and that Hey! (Ew) finally ends Wrestle Me’s deserved run of dominance in the best digital content category, as much as I love what Marc and Pete do. Goodbye Hey! (Ew), you will be missed! I’m crossing my fingers for a revival in a few years time when the roster is a bit more refreshed.

Superb final episode, and I hope it's not the end of RJ doing weird comedy for AEW in general, just him recognising that he should finish up while it was still funny. I know he wanted Mercedes, Omega, and Sting, but I imagine he got to interview almost everyone else he wanted.

Aside from the episodes that have been mentioned, two of my favourite RJ lines:

To Jeff Jarrett, "you were a singer but you didn't sing, you carry a guitar but you can't play it, and, well, we've seen you wrestle".

To Renee Paquette, "I have to call you Renee Paquette, because we both know you're not Young any more".

Yeah I found this part extremely funny. It feels like they're just going over shit for the show without letting Eddie in on it, RJ just goes into that parody voice of whoever he's sending up. I think he clues in that he's doing a bit, but I'd stake a claim the Mad King has probably not watched the source material. RJ is struggling not to corpse himself when I think he clocks that Eddie is properly puzzled. The bit where Kingston asks 'whats wrong with your voice?' to be met with the reply 'its commanding authority' as Eddie looks completely confused is brilliant.

His suggestion that Eddie says ‘I’m Eddie Kingston, and you ain’t shit!’ gets me every time. I’d love to see more of RJ doing this kinda thing, almost like his own little version of Nathan for You.
