Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted February 28 Awards Moderator Posted February 28 The great Frankie Crisp has asked me to take over this bit of the awards for him. Cast your votes, discuss your picks. Voting will be open until probably Monday 10th.
Paid Members LaGoosh Posted March 1 Paid Members Posted March 1 Swerve/Danielson is not only the match of the Year but also one of the greats as far as I'm concerned. Magical from start to finish.
Paid Members Supremo Posted March 1 Paid Members Posted March 1 All fantastic matches. Any of them would be worthy winners, but I went with the All In Casino Gauntlet. The greatest Royal Rumble of all time and it wasn’t even a Royal Rumble. Pure, distilled joy. My blood was fizzing.
RedTwoster Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Roman vs Cody for me. It’s one of those matches that would be very, very hard to repeat, and encapsulated everything I love about wrestling. It’s also one of the most satisfying conclusions to a long term storyline that I can remember. The others are all deserving nominees, but it’s impossible to look at any of them and think ‘I’m not sure I’ll see something like that again’. That’s how I feel about the Roman/Cody match.Â

That atmosphere - that magic - I don't think I'll experience anything quite like it again.

To subvert that was just perfect.
Paid Members BomberPat Posted March 5 Paid Members Posted March 5 I had to go with the Casino Gauntlet; Swerve vs. Danielson was incredible, and I came very close to voting for Sting's last match, but the gauntlet was just such an incredible succession of brilliant stuff happening, the kind of perfect feelgood match that reminds you how great AEW can be when they get it right. Freaking out in the gods at Wembley because Nigel McGuinness entered - and it being so loud I couldn't even hear his music - would almost be enough to win it for me alone, but it just kept going and never got dull.
