I trained in the Cork affiliate of NWA Ireland during the summer of 2002. It was tremendous fun and experience but we didn’t have a wrestling ring for months. Nothing quite prepares you for your first flat back bump. The shock of it !! I remember Paul Tracey and Fergal Devitt coming down a few times and they were almost like celebs. Fair play to Fergal he stood out instantly, even had a decent physique… Side question : i was listening to podcast with Greg Lambert and Fin Martin. They hinted at some incident in 1996 with Hanmerlock. I am guessing Fin gave a Hammerlock show a bad review and Andre Baker wasn’t happy. Was that it essentially? Quote

Findlay basically reviewed it impartially and said some of the matches weren't great. Andre got his knickers in a twist and thought that Findlay and PS should have been more favourable as they were a British promotion. As mentioned in the podcast, he felt he was fair in his review and if he'd have lied or exaggerated the quality of the show, PS would have lost credibility with its readership. In my second training session I concussed myself at the start when I fucked up a back bump just after warm ups. I have no further memories of that day, other than remembering falling to sleep on the bus ride home. Quote

I remember we used to train on a sunday and it would be the next Saturday before my legs felt normal again. Quote
