Or am I missing the joke and it's been deliberately edited to look that way? There’s a definite conclusion to the GIF. You must have stopped watching it before it ended. Keep watching. Probably the best episode of Raw all year. The difference between last week’s wretched show and this week’s is insane. Might be the biggest difference in quality week-on-week of all time. I’ve concluded that alongside politicking the fuck out of everyone and switching babyface/heel as he pleases, Roman must also have his own writers or producers, similar to how The Rock had Brian Gerwirtz. It’s the only explanation for why there’s such a huge difference in quality between the shows depending on whether Roman has flown in. Last week, Raw was so shit I couldn’t be arsed even talking about it. This week, prepare yourself for paragraphs! I’m buzzing! - Sine when have they aired UK-specific adverts on Netflix? I thought previously any adverts that snuck into our feed were just US ads that they’ve accidentally broadcast, but now instead of subscription drugs I’m seeing adverts for Ryvita?! Outrageous! - I didn’t watch TripleMania, but from the clips they aired on this show, within the fiction, is the idea that Rey Mysterio spent the days beforehand getting a special referee mask made, all on the off chance there’d be a ref bump in his son’s match, and he could then run in and count to three? Very funny, if so. Hater of the year. - The unintentional highlight of last week’s dreadful show was when they tried to do their version of Hangman-burns-down-Swerve’s house, but not only did the stunt look rubbish but you could tell the smoke was getting in Royce Key’s eyes, making it super uncomfortable to deliver his lines. He spent the whole time blinking and twitching. Even funnier this week to watch them chuck massive, “AINT NOBODY SAFE,” graphics over the top of it, to try and pretend it was still menacing, and not a tragic image of a man desperate to run away and grab a wet wipe. - Positively wild that they announced they were putting the Stephanie Vaquer vs. Liv Morgan match behind the WWE Club Paywall. “Want to see the title change? Join the billion dollar company’s Patreon!” Surely this stuff does more damage than good? - Roman vs. Penta absolutely ruled. It always depended on whether Roman fancied it, and boy did he fancy it here. Super fun match. I thought the maddest thing I could see was Roman taking a Destroyer. I’d never even considered him taking a Penta Driver! Amazing! Between this match, and watching The New Level wrestling on Dynamite this past fortnight, it’s official. The most exciting thing in pro-wrestling these days is watching WWE Lifers wrestle these mad PWG-style matches. It probably won’t ever happen, but now more than ever I’m desperate to see Randy Orton in AEW. Imagine! - But yeah. Just fucking look at this megastar. Somehow has more pyro than Diesel, Sid and Wildman Marc Mero combined! It’s funniest with Fenix because they have to still see each other when they have Sunday Tea at their Nan’s, but somewhere all the ex-AEW guys must be secretly furious that success in WWE seems to be a finite thing and Penta has all of it. If they had nothing for her they should not have brought her up to the main roster but HOW could you not have something for someone clearly as talented as she is? I know that is a statement which is not solely relevant to her either. Quote
TheScarlettChad Posted yesterday at 02:58 PM Posted yesterday at 02:58 PM Her being a WWE fan surely helped her didn't it? She had a great gig in AEW and gave it up to.....do fuck all in WWE. Quote
thatvinylgeek Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago It's telling that the best matches on WWE TV are the least "WWE" style matches. I get that AEW can feel too much for people sometimes with the amount high spots and silly kickouts, but I also think the vast majority of wrestling fans have been exposed to that type of wrestling now, and enjoy bits of it. So when WWE lean into it a bit more as they did with Penta v Roman it really works, and seems to get over well with the crowd. Completely agree with @Supremothough, the 946 stuff was pretty shocking, I always hate how fake the explosions look when they try to burn stuff down, it would have been much better if they just smashed the car to bits Street Fighter style with their masks up 🙂 Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted 1 hour ago Paid Members Posted 1 hour ago (edited) Sometimes, audibles need to be called. Having now slept on it, I’m even more convinced. What a visual. Do they still do the WWE magazine? You could have slapped that on the front cover with a massive, “NEW CHAMPION CROWNED!” headline. Nothing would have been lost by giving Penta the belt for a few months, with tonnes gained. If anything, 2026 has been the year that’s proven we’ve gone full circle and there’s now more benefit in short reigns than everyone getting the standardised ten to twelve months.
