Hopefully can get back to being a decent analyst and move on. Yeh, nice to see that. Paulie's hands look knackered. Bare knuckle boxing is a harsh game. Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted June 26, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted June 26, 2019 The calm probably won’t be for long though will it? I hope that’s the end of it but give it a week or two of McGregor fans tweet-mocking him and media asking him about it and he’ll be back to his 25 minute breathless outbursts again. Paid Members Egg Shen Posted June 26, 2019 Author Paid Members Share Posted June 26, 2019 yeh, i expect it to turn sour again, but if Paulie is fully planning on retiring (and i expect he is), maybe there is chance he will let it go? that said, the McGregor/Mayweather Netflix documentary will drop eventually and that threatens so show more footage of what happened, so theres a twist to the tale yet. Did anyone watch the rest of the BKFC 6 show? i watched the whole main card, it was a mixed bag. Johnny Bedford seems to have found a home there, i dont recall much of his UFC run but he seems made for BKB the crazy bastard. Chris Leben probably had it all come rushing back to him about why he retired, he didnt look like he enjoyed his fight with Dakota Cochrane. Some decent fights there but its still very much in its infancy. I'll continue to follow it.

Self-quoting like a twat but I pretty much nailed it. Look at the state of this gimp;

Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted July 2, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted July 2, 2019 Him and Anthony Smith have had a little back and forth now on Twitter. Love the way Paulie basically says MMA fighters are fannies for tapping out, trashes the sport every chance he gets, loses to an MMA fighter with a 13-15 record then seems shocked when he gets shit back from the MMA side. Thing is, Smith actually went into enemy territory, fought Gustafsson in his backyard in Sweden, broke his hand and fought through it and won. If Paulie had taken the high road and just put it behind him, the trolls would’ve had their fun and moved on. Soon as he started spitting the dummy in interviews it started up again. You just knew he wouldn’t be able to leave it. Askren’s chimed in now; He’ll just say Askren is a dumb MMA guy as usual. The only ones who I’ve seen backing Paulie and saying he got robbed are some boxing fans and media who are licking his arse because he’s doing an interview for them. It’s fucking tragic at this point. It says a lot about how far gone Paulie is when Conor ‘Tweeting 24-7’ McGregor didn’t even bother rubbing his nose in it. This is going to escalate now. Him being so sour has just opened him up to even more trolling the twat.
jimufctna24
I really wish that Paulie would piss off for a few years, and then re-emerge as the bumbling, yet likeable, boxing analyst that he used to be. Now that he's fought against Lobov, and lost, there is little point to him interacting with MMA fighters. He's openly admitted that he won't be able to fight again because of his hand. Where else can this feud really go other than tedious Twitter bickering? Edited July 2, 2019 by jimufctna24
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted July 2, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted July 2, 2019 Exactly. I’m quite looking forward to Askren and Chael hopefully trolling him into oblivion now though, I must admit.
David
Well, the chit chat that this recent event outdrew some lower end UFC events as far as PPV numbers are concerned seems like it was pretty wide of the mark. 18,000 buys on traditional television. The number of internet buys is unknown, but not considered to be all that high either.
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted July 5, 2019 Author Paid Members Share Posted July 5, 2019 Guess it suffered a similar fate as the Golden Boy show. There is absolute zero doubt that the show had a lot of buzz going in (similar to Golden Boy). Online polls and MMA journalists were in agreement that it was the most anticipated fight of the weekend. Even post-show the reaction was amongst the main stories, but we just live in a time where people will keep their hand in their pockets and watch a live stream or watch youtube rip/download the following day. The MacLife highlight video has 1.3 million views in a week for example.

David
Quote UFC Hall of Famer Ken Shamrock is getting back into the fight business by launching his own bare knuckle fighting promotion. The organization will be called Valor Bare Knuckle Inc. as Shamrock partners with longtime business associate Des Woodruff to launch the new fight promotion. The first Valor BK event is scheduled for Sept. 21 at the 4 Bears Casino and Lodge in New Town, North Dakota. There’s no word yet on the fights being televised, although the Valor BK website states events will be available through “network, digital, and pay-per-view (PPV) platforms.” Shamrock has been a stalwart of the fight game for more than 20 years including multiple runs in the UFC as well as appearances in PRIDE Fighting Championships as recently as 2016 when he competed in Bellator MMA. Let's hope he sticks to promoting. I have zero interest in seeing Ken step in there to fight anyone. Edited July 11, 2019 by David

David
Christ. I guess the only silver lining we can take from such a pish-drenched cloud is that neither of them are facing someone younger who could do them serious damage. This likely starts with a few wild swings before both guys gas badly 30 seconds in. Hopefully neither gets hurt.
