Paid Members Carbomb Posted September 6 Paid Members Posted September 6 (edited) The Globe again. This time, Love's Labour's Lost. The theme is Spain and flamenco. It's currently the intermission, and it's been a riot so far. It's more centred around spectacle, comedy movement, gurning, and charm than the dialogue, but it's still bloody great. The music and dance is wonderful too. I always say this, but if you get a chance, go see this one. It's pure entertainment. EDIT: Finished, and waiting for a train. A blast all the way through. Keeps up the pace, and ramps up the silliness. If there's any criticism, it's that it skates by on charm at certain points, but these are very brief: everyone puts in a good shift, and holds up their end of things. Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted Tuesday at 08:18 PM Awards Moderator Posted Tuesday at 08:18 PM (edited) It’s a musical, sorry, but we saw the filmed version of Hadestown at the cinema tonight, with the original Broadway main cast, and it was ace. Andre de Shields as Hermes, especially, but Patrick Page’s Hades is the best too. It’s probably on a couple more nights and if you can get along (especially if you can’t see it at the theatre) I recommend it. Another musical, sorry, but we’ve got Operation Mincemeat on tour next month, followed by Oh Mary! with Lolly Adefope in London. That one’s not a musical, as far as I know. Thanks for the heads up about OM, Mrs H has been wanting to go for a while. Quote

She’ll have a great time, it’s really fun. I think the original tour leg is winding down now, but they recently announced an extension that goes into next summer so hopefully it’s on near you. Quote
