Fog Dude
So, the results went into the opening post the Sunday before last, the table was updated and uploaded the following day, then the forum was down on Tuesday... and remained so for the best part of a week, as you'll all no doubt have noticed. Harvey Dent got his D2D right, but off the back of an 8-0 defeat for the home side the previous weekend, only two of the other 19 participants bet against him - although both Arsenal goals were partly down to generous defending from the Black Cats. Unusually for a D2D winner, he's therefore not the top scorer for the round, but he does at least clearly consolidate a top-half place with a double-figures performance. The highest score this time instead went to snowman dave, who tightens his grip on third spot. Directly above him, the gap between The Ratt (who actually posted in OTTER during the downtime, I noticed) and TildeGuy remains at 8 points. Two unexplained absences, following a good few weeks of maximum participation, see Stinky Dad and TUFCfan sink further into the bottom 5. Vegeta is not far above them and his decent start to the campaign now seems well behind him, as he was the worst player this time out on only 3 points. That said, it's still Seph who stays dead last for the moment. Instead of analysing games that are now more than 10 days old in some cases, let's look at what the 'phantom week' (it's an unlucky number, virtually coincided with Hallowe'en and never happened in appropriately spooky fashion) would've entailed. Not sure how I'd have labelled the rounds if the forum had disappeared for longer, or if I'd have just declared this season a write-off, but missing one week won't really have done too much harm come the end of May. In the interests of transparency, I present most of the card as I'd have planned it a week ago. One of the matches is missing because it'd give away whose D2D it was meant to be. I've rearranged that turn for the earliest available opportunity later this month, but I'm not going to change the D2D plans I had for the next couple of weeks. The rest would've probably led to a few late picks and complaints, because it contained no fewer than three Saturday 2 o'clock starts: Premier League Aston Villa v Tottenham Hotspur Hull City v SouthamptonLeicester City v West Bromwich AlbionManchester City v Manchester United Stoke City v West Ham United Scottish Cup Round 3Hurlford United v Stirling AlbionLinlithgow Rose v Raith Rovers Serie ANapoli v Roma Parma v Inter Let's just assume people would've generally done really badly and had low scoring, then move on. We resume with Week 14 very shortly...
Zebra Kid Mark
Yes! I am picking up steam on this. As long as I finish in the top half come the end of the season I will be happy after being bottom since the beginning.
