Cowdenbeath vs St. Johnstone - OFF

You know the most annoying things about that? First, that the cold snap wasn't too bad and only caused the postponement of one Cup game in England and two in Scotland, yet I had to end up putting one of those on the card. I should've gone for Livingston-Dundee, the all-SPL Aberdeen-Motherwell clash, Sunday's Edinburgh derby or even Celtic v Arbroath. The last of those turned out not to be a foregone conclusion, but it'd probably have been a dud if included. Incidentally, looks like the Stranraer tie and the Derby della Mole saw the opposite type of outcome, with everyone getting at least a point.

The second snag is that Cowdenbeath are going to attempt to have a playable pitch again as soon as Tuesday night, which is within the window for the result to count if they manage to get the match on. If it's delayed any longer, the eventual result will be void, but for that reason, there's no table update yet. Needless to say, TUFCfan will have done very well when it comes to figuring out this week's changes.

As expected, trying to get a game played on a cold Tuesday night that was called off on a milder Saturday was always a non-starter. They'd given up by yesterday afternoon, so the original post was edited a second time to reflect this. Even if Cowdenbeath can provide a playable surface next Monday, the result still won't count for FPL purposes, which means there were only 9 valid matches this week, and that the updated table is the definitive version for this round.

I mentioned before that TUFCfan had done well. To be specific, his beloved Gulls didn't let him down at home to Dagenham, but exactly half of the other participants this week disagreed with him, earning him 22 bonus points and sending him top above ultimo - but only by 6 points, which isn't much of a cushion. Without those bonuses he'd still have been one of a clutch of players on 9 points, a total only better by steve and this week's joint top scorers, cheetah and El Espanacas. The former closes the gap on ultimo to 2 points despite dropping a place and would be comfortably clear had he done better on his D2D round, while the later is the highest-placed person yet to take his turn at that bonus opportunity.

At the other end, Lawz closes the gap slightly by 2 points but remains the only participants shy of a century for the season so far. The duo he's chasing make up two of the three people who were lowest scorers this time out, along with Haraga. Of the games that actually took place, one had a 100% hit rate - the Turin derby, with a few even foreseeing that Juve would sweep their local rivals aside. The Stranraer cup tie also had a near-perfect record, only ruined by a strange guess from Lawz and the fact that nobody quite managed an exact score. Draws at Loftus Road and the New York Stadium and an away victory for Roma were also popular bets, less so triumphs on the road for York at Spotland and - by a surprisingly wide margin - for Spurs at Craven Cottage.

Even worse was Stoke's smash-and-grab raid at The Hawthorns. It would've been a complete dud outcome but for niff once again. For the second week running she got 3 points from a match for which nobody else could even claim one. It's almost getting suspicious now!

Right, I think that's everything rounded up for this week then. New thread with yet another D2D coming up shortly.
