"Jon Jones is a great champion, but me in my prime, I was devastating. I was vicious. Nobody could stop me. Of course I could beat him in my prime Jon Jones is in his prime now, so you compare it to something like Ali v Tyson in boxing. You'll never know because it's two different generations. I don't ever want to talk smack about Jones because he's a great role model of the sport but in my prime, I wouldn't count myself out - that's for sure. I would never disrespect him. It'd be a very close fight, a decision. But in my prime I was the best in the world."

Tito's gone into overdrive this time out, can't blame him considering it's last hurrah and all. But really? Tito can lay claim to being unbeatable in his prime all he wants because nothing can take that run away from him but if them two met i'd be the fucking farm on Jones. Tito was good but he was limited, Jones would have destroyed him.

Shows the interest in the PPV that the thread is 18 pages long and the PPV hasn't happened yet

Yeah it's rare a thread for a single UFC event gets this much discussion before it. The only ones I remember being similar were the threads for Brock Lesnar's fights. That's to be expected on a pro wrestling forum given Brock's history.

Cheers wandshogun o9.

Is this a six fight main card? What time does it start? Thanks.

The UFC Primetime and the Silva/Sonnen portion of the Countdown to UFC 148 were terrific. I'm also laughing at the UFC 148: The American Gangster video. Great stuff.

Where's everyone getting this idea of a 6 fight main card/4 hour event? As far as I'm aware it's a standard 5 fight main card with Silva/Sonnen, Ortiz/Griffin, Le/Cote, Kim/Maia, Mendes/McKenzie.

Despite my excitement, I'll stick to my usual routine of watching as soon as I get up Sunday morning. I always struggle to stay awake and I end not concentrating and missing stuff when I start to get tired.

I'll be like a kid on Christmas morning though. Awake by 6 am.

I normally do that, but with this one I can't do it. Waking up in the morning, with the thought of not watching the biggest MMA fight of all time live will be too disheartening for me.

As mentioned earlier the last event I stayed up for was Lesnar/Overeem and I actually found it quite easy. Just had a sleep earlier in the day, followed by trip out to the casino with a couple drinks and back by midnight to watch the prelims etc. Not doing the casino this time though, but I'm hoping that the adrenaline for the fight will keep me going.

ESPN UK have these 2 times for it:

Sat pm/Sun am 3am start duration 240 minutes

Mon pm/Tues am start Midnight duration 240 minutes

From what I can tell on UFC.com for US viewers, the post show starts at 02:00 on Saturday morning (I assume that means eastern time), so with 10pm eastern start (which fits in with 3am UK time start), that also indicates 4 hours doesn't it?

I stay up for every event. No sleep during the day, just some chocolate and lemonade or something, to keep me going through the night. In bed right after the main event finishes and usually awake agin by 9. It usually hits me on the Sunday night when I'll end up getting in bed earlier than normal and sleep right the way through til my alarm goes off.

I think in the last 2-3 years, I've only not watched 3 or 4 cards live on ESPN. It's the best way

I'm in two minds whether to try and get my timings right so I wake up before Silva/Sonnen II or watch the whole show. The former is risky as you don't know what time the fights before it end (I'm predicting a lot of decisions). All about Silva/Sonnen II.

I think I've watched one event live since I started watching UFC, and that's only because I wasn't at home and couldn't slink off to bed. Missing the live aspect doesn't really bother me. As long as I can avoid spoilers (which is easy) I have no problem at all. Besides, I like my UFC with a sausage and egg mcmuffin. It's my routine now.

I've never stayed up to watch an event. I usually stay spoiler free & we put it on about 5pm on the Sunday with nibbles for tea & a couple of beers. We'll be doing the same this Sunday, it's our UFC weekend routine.

The only problem I have with watching a recording is that i KNOW that I can fast forward if I find a fight boring. There's something about watching a fight knowing that it is happening right at that second which adds something special to the feel of the event.

Every event I've watched recorded just lacked that special feel and depriving an event of this magnitude of that doesn't sit well with me. So I will be stacking up the sugar induced treats for this one.

I always try to watch live. I usually don't have a problem staying awake because I've always been more of a night owl. Always had shitty sleep anyway and work nights a fair bit so I'm kinda used to it.

I can't remember the last one I didn't watch live. It was most certainly a mid week Fight Night though where I'd either be working that night or have to get up early next day.
