got this from Wiki

"On August 30, 2011, it was announced that Prudius would be making his first post-WWE appearance on September 3, working for the Japanese promotion Inoki Genome Federation (IGF) under his new ring name Alexander Kozlov."

now he's clearly nicked that name from Alex Kozlov (now Peter Orlov in FCW), so i wonder if this comes back to bite him...

I wouldn't say that. Alexander is simply what his realname translates to (and is also one of the most stereotypical russian names) while not using the name Kozlov, which he got known as, would be rather stupid.

Anyway, as mentioned above, wiki is as crap as a source for wrestling news can be.

If it is true that he has been booked for IGF as Alexander Kozlov, as far as we know it could be the promotion who decided to name him that rather than Kozlov himself. It could be possible that neither Vlad or Inoki have ever heard of Alex Kozlov.

And as far as Alex Koslov is concerned, Koslov used to wrestle for the Inoki Dojo in the States so he's no stranger to Inoki.

That was the other Alex Koslov, who is now FCW's Peter Orlov
