Triple H came out and set up Ezekiel Jackson vs. Cody Rhodes for the Intercontinental Title, Alberto Del Rio vs. Daniel Bryan, and Great Khali vs. Randy Orton. Christian came out to speak to Hunter.

Christian threatened that Hunter needed to change his SummerSlam match against Randy Orton or he would sue. Hunter told him he has no respect as the World Hvt. Champion, so the match is still on.

Sheamus beat Christian by countout. Christian wanted no part of Sheamus, so he got himself intentionally counted out while standing on the top of the entrance ramp.

Beth Phoenix and Natalya defeated Kaitlyn and A.J. Beth Phoenix pinned A.J. to get the win for her team.

There was a backstage segment with Teddy Long, Zack Ryder, Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase, and Aksana.

There was also a segment with Mark Henry and Johnny Curtis backstage. They will meet later in the show.

Sin Cara defeated Tyson Kidd. Mike said it didn't seem like anyone knew the difference between this Sin Cara and the real Sin Cara, assuming they used someone else under the mask because the real Sin Cara is suspended.

Alberto Del Rio defeated Daniel Bryan, Bryan missed a top rope move. Del Rio got the win via submission.

Cody Rhodes defeated Ezekiel Jackson to win the Intercontinental Title. It appeared Dylan Drake of AllProWrestling.com was passing out the paper bags at ringside. Cody got the win with CrossRhodes to become the new champion. I smell a rematch at SummerSlam.

Backstage, Randy Orton said he will unleash his anger at SummerSlam. He then discussed his match against Great Khali.

Mark Henry beat Johnny Curtis. Sheamus came out to stop "Shamu" and wanted him to take on the great white tonight instead of at SummerSlam.

Randy Orton beat The Great Khali. Orton hit the RKO on Khali for the pin. Christian came out afterward and said he's the best thing going.

This is the big news christian wants us to know about? This doesnt really sounds like I NEED to watch Smackdown.

Here is a company that on the one hand tries a realistic sort of shoot angle with punk and Cena, using the internet and social media to further the heat between all the boys involved.

On the other hand, WWE just ignores the fact that everybody has internet and puts another guy under Sin Cara's mask.

Its like Vince has split personality. In WWE not all the noses are pointing in the same direction. :(

Best news coming out of this is Cody winning I.C. Gold!

Bout time.

Would have preferred him to win the Title at SummerSlam, but, no doubt a re-match there with hopefully the same result!

Next year time to start pushing Cody towards the Main Event scene / World Title run perhaps?

This Christian announcement thing is abit of an anti-climax isn't it? I'm chuffed that Cody Rhodes has taken the IC Title away from Jackson though, he was doing to much smiling and looks so awkward on the mic. What does the updated Summerslam card look like now then? Cena/Punk seems to be the only thing I know of that has got me interested, and to a smaller degree Sheamus/Mark Henry if they do it right.

That show sounds TERRIBLE.

They are just throwing out matches that could be PPV mid-card matches on free TV and then not announcing anything for Summerslam. The whole thing just boggles my mind. Makes no sense whatsoever. And I know the roster split hasn't meant much for awhile but now it's just ridiculous.

Here are a list of people with no proper matches/fueds or storylines heading into Summerslam:

The Miz

Rey Mysterio

Dolph Ziggler

R-Truth

John Morrison

Daniel Bryan

Wade Barrett

Kofi Kingston

Alex Riley

This gives me an idea for a topic, coming this evening. Watch out!

Although they arn't "official", surely there are storylines and fueds in place for the guys in bold? Maybe there are backstage segments that will promote more matches? However I do agree that the WWE are not doing a great job of pushing the Summerslam midcard.

I'm expecting / hoping for: Barrett vs. Bryan, Triple Threat IC match (Rhodes, Dibiase and Jackson) and Ziggler vs. Riley at least.

Yes Yes Yes! Whoaa you're only Smoke and Mirrors! So glad Cody has got his first Singles Title and in the process taken it off that big smiley twat.

Rest sounds balls. I hope Del Rio vs Bryan is a nice match, even though I'm currently hating Del Rio. The smark in me is annoyed that D-Bry tapped to Del Rio who currently has no heat or momentum even though he has the MITB briefcase.

Rest of the show - meh.

Barely!

I'm talking about fully fleshed out interesting storylines that seem to have a point and momentum as opposed to just giving them something to keep them busy.
