His latest is these Yearbook sets. 30 discs compiling the best work from any and every company in the world. Â Â Look's good, Secondcoming makes some awesome comps also, his Decades of Excellence series is the same sort of idea, but over 6 (average) discs per year to only include the best of the best. Another of his projects is The Quarterly, the first one came out in April and was 10 discs of the best of the best covering all promotions worldwide for the period of Jan-Mar 2011.. The next in that series is due out next month and is in production.. Â If you're into huge sets, you may want to check out his 70 disc Mutoh comp, it's amazing..
Magnum Milano Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 I don't think this is a DVDVR project, unlike the 80s one. Â I actually helped out with the USWA selections and recommendations for this year, and bar the lack of the Tojo Yamamoto musical tribute there is some great stuff from the promotion that is included. They've done a great job regarding the Lawler/Jarrett vs Moondogs feud and two of the things I wanted to be highlighted is how awesome Richard Lee was as manager of the Dogs (who absolutely brutalized the job guys on a weekly basis) and how great Brian Christopher was so young into his career. The way the Yearbook is done you'll see the cross promotional stuff between the USWA and WWF with all the set up on the USWA shows and then the pay off of Lawler debuting on Prime Time. Eric Embry as this sleazy heel is fantastic, culminating in an incredible interview and angle to turn face. Sad to see that the Christmas Creature made the cutting room floor! Â If you purchase this you wont be disappointed in the slightest.

When is this coming? Goodhelmet told me that either Lucha or Portland is the next set. Only problem I have is watching the damn things! I've had Mid South for a year and a half and only watched about 4 discs and im only about 4 discs into New Japan aswell. Guess I wont be bored when im old and retired tho
King Pitcos Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 I never got into the tape-trading community, but for people who would consider buying such a set as the one in the top post -- would you intend on watching everything on all 30 discs, or is it more to have it for a collection and dip into particular matches? I can't imagine how long it must take the lad to even compile these. I get in a huff when I have to put three videos onto a DVD for work.
lightningxlock Posted June 19, 2011 Author Posted June 19, 2011 The guy is without doubt a machine. Cant imagine him having a full time job with the rapidity he knocks sets out at. I also cant imagine people watching all 30 discs either. I usually get sucked in, buy a set, watch afew discs and thats it
Paid Members CleetusVanDamme Posted June 19, 2011 Paid Members Posted June 19, 2011 There's alot of great shit on there, but at the same time, there's a load of stuff I'd have no interest in ever seeing. I'd consider getting it if it was just the American stuff on it for sure, even then though, I doubt I'd ever get round to watching it all. Â Â How much is he charging for it?, 30 discs is a shitload.
Big Rob Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 I think its like 90 dollars. I probably wouldn't buy this, but there's a ton of awesome sets he's done for individual wrestlers. His 11 disc Barry Windham set is superb.
Moderators PowerButchi Posted June 19, 2011 Moderators Posted June 19, 2011 His 11 disc Barry Windham set is superb. Â I'd be all over that. Where can you buy them from?
Gladstones Bitch Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 They never seem to activate new member accounts though, I've tried signing up on there a few times over the years and have never received a conformation email.

lightningxlock Posted June 20, 2011 Author Posted June 20, 2011 As much as I couldn't see myself watching a whole 11 discs of one wrestler, that doesn't look so bad considering theres only afew matches per disc. He put out a Toshiaki Kawada comp not too long ago and im sure it was about 50 discs long. Insanity!

I've had Mid South for a year and a half and only watched about 4 discs and im only about 4 discs into New Japan aswell. Guess I wont be bored when im old and retired tho He is already taking payments for the 1992 set and it will be released when he has reached his quota (basically a way so that he gets his money's worth for the time taken to compile this, before the $1 shillers and leeches get their hands on it; although to be honest I haven't seen the 1993 and 1996 Yearbooks doing the rounds yet).  The 80s Project is something completely different and I don't know what the timeline is for that. I know that the current set being watched/discussed/ranked is the All Japan one, and I know that people are watching stuff in anticipation for the AWA set, but don't know what is being released next. They definately still have Portland, Lucha, AWA, Joshi, NWA, Europe and the WWF redux to do, and more than likely a Territories set for promotions where there isn't enough footage available.
