Magnum Milano
Yeah I'd agree with that. This is my rough top 10 fights (UFC & Strikeforce only for easyness) so far for this year 1 - Frankie Edgar vs Gray Maynard 2 (UFC 125) 2 - BJ Penn vs Nick Diaz (UFC 137) 3 - Nick Diaz vs Paul Daley (Strikeforce: Diaz vs Daley) 4 - Frankie Edgar vs Gray Maynard 3 (UFC 136) 5 - Jose Aldo vs Mark Hominick (UFC 129) 6 - Diego Sanchez vs Martin Kampmann (Versus 3) 7 - Dominick Cruz vs Urijah Faber 2 (UFC 132) 8 - Rousimar Palhares vs Dan Miller (UFC 134) 9 - Matt Wiman vs Mac Danzig (UFC on Versus 6) 10 - Jim Miller vs Ben Henderson (UFC on Versus 5)  Honourable mentions to Lytle vs Hardy Barao vs Pickett Maguire vs Edwards Lentz vs Oliveira McDonald vs Figueroa Kongo vs Barry Diaz vs Cyborg Fedor vs Henderson  Fuck, what a year. And there's still FOX, 139, 140, 141, TUF Finale and a couple of Strikeforce shows to go yet. I've really struggled to keep on top of Bellator this year, but I would absolutely have Daniel Straus vs Nazareno Malegarie in my top 10 fights for the year, and without thinking about it too much, pretty sure Diaz vs Cyborg would rate higher for me aswell. The Cum Doctor
I think the reason Sonnen gets away with being such a dick for me, is that it's just so ridiculous what he says. It's so over the top and outlandish that he can't be taken seriously, and therefore I care less as a result about what he has to say.
The Natural
I don't have ESPN but YouTube's good for finding fights providing you find them quickly and I also know two other streaming sites which work well . I watched Penn/Diaz the day after via those methods and thought it was one of the best fights this year. It's amazing to me that the first day of the year produced my Fight of the Year still with only a month left and that's Edgar/Maynard II.  Yeah I'd agree with that. This is my rough top 10 fights (UFC & Strikeforce only for easyness) so far for this year  1 - Frankie Edgar vs Gray Maynard 2 (UFC 125) 2 - BJ Penn vs Nick Diaz (UFC 137) 3 - Nick Diaz vs Paul Daley (Strikeforce: Diaz vs Daley) 4 - Frankie Edgar vs Gray Maynard 3 (UFC 136) 5 - Jose Aldo vs Mark Hominick (UFC 129) 6 - Diego Sanchez vs Martin Kampmann (Versus 3) 7 - Dominick Cruz vs Urijah Faber 2 (UFC 132) 8 - Rousimar Palhares vs Dan Miller (UFC 134) 9 - Matt Wiman vs Mac Danzig (UFC on Versus 6) 10 - Jim Miller vs Ben Henderson (UFC on Versus 5)  Honourable mentions to Lytle vs Hardy Barao vs Pickett Maguire vs Edwards Lentz vs Oliveira McDonald vs Figueroa Kongo vs Barry Diaz vs Cyborg Fedor vs Henderson  Fuck, what a year. And there's still FOX, 139, 140, 141, TUF Finale and a couple of Strikeforce shows to go yet.  Here's mine:  1. Frankie Edgar vs. Gray Maynard, UFC 125: Resolution 2. Nick Diaz vs. Paul Daley, Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley 3. BJ Penn vs. Nick Diaz, UFC 137: Penn vs. Diaz 4. Dominik Cruz vs. Urijah Faber, UFC 132: Cruz vs. Faber 2 5. Matt Wiman vs. Mac Danzig, UFC on Versus 6 6. Nam Phan vs. Leonard Garcia, UFC 136: Edgar vs. Maynard III 7. Frankie Edgar vs. Gray Maynard, UFC 136: Edgar vs. Maynard III 8. Diego Sanchez vs. Martin Kampmann, UFC on Versus 3 9. Jose Aldo vs. Mark Hominick, UFC 129: St Pierre vs. Shields 10. Cheick Kongo vs. Pat Barry, UFC on Versus 4  Looking at them, we've got the same top three and the same eight fights with two different fights on each closing out the top ten. I haven't watched any since they originally took place. My 2011 Fight of the Year hasn't changed all year. I'd also go further by saying Edgar/Maynard II is one of the best fights in MMA history.  2011 has been a fantastic year for the UFC. I'm looking forward to finding out in the next few months what will be on the UFC: Best of 2011 DVD. Anyone fancy a go at that?
The Cum Doctor
It's looking like a landslide victory for Edgar/Maynard II so far. I'd have it as... Â 1. Frankie Edgar vs. Gray Maynard - UFC 125 2. Jose Aldo vs. Mark Hominick - UFC 129 3. Diego Sanchez vs. Martin Kampmann - UFC on Versus 3 4. Dominik Cruz vs. Urijah Faber - UFC 132 5. Matt Wiman vs. Mac Danzig - UFC on Versus 6 Â I don't think I could do more without the positions being uncertain. I didn't enjoy Diaz/Penn as much as others it would seem. It was amazing to watch Diaz do what he was doing to Penn, but I just didn't get the kick out of it that I got from the five fights above.

Paid Members Egg Shen Posted November 9, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted November 9, 2011 Cage Potato report on the soon to be infamous fight video of Tank Abbott/Scott Ferrozo II...  Here  The fact that this went down, like it did is mind blowing. It's a pretty sad thing to see, but even if you don't want to watch the fight it's well worth reading the write-up, blow-by-blow. It's funny stuff...   Back in September 1996, a relatively unknown 350-pounder named Scott Ferrozzo scored an unexpected decision victory against Tank Abbott in the semifinals of the UFC 11 heavyweight tournament. In recent years, the two heavyweight brawlers have expended a good deal of energy talking trash, trying to goad each other into a rematch. Amazingly, the fight was actually put together this year. It was slated to go down October 30th at the Dixie Cowgirls Night Club in Dayton, Ohio, and would feature a no-holds-barred ruleset reminiscent of the UFC
Paid Members Dead Mike Posted November 9, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted November 9, 2011 Absolutely shocking.............Tank had the kimura gifted to him at 3.31 & didn't capitalise. In all seriousness, surely there's still an audience that'd pay to wathc him fight? Unless he just wanted to fight the dude out of pride or some shit? Paid Members Egg Shen Posted November 9, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted November 9, 2011 It is a weird situation. Im pretty sure Tank front and center on a poster still draws a crowd, and i think the reason the fight went down like it did was because the venue the fight was meant to take place in decided against the fight at the last minute. Â Theres a website promoting the whole thing though, i think they are planning on selling a a dvd or something. It seems like the whole basically fell apart but they just went ahead and did it anyways. Like i said previously its like Gannon-Kimbo all over again. Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted November 10, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted November 10, 2011 I've really struggled to keep on top of Bellator this year, but I would absolutely have Daniel Straus vs Nazareno Malegarie in my top 10 fights for the year, and without thinking about it too much, pretty sure Diaz vs Cyborg would rate higher for me aswell. Â Yeah I've had the same problem with Bellator. Only seen bits of it here and there which is why i left my list at just UFC and Strikeforce. I've been avoiding the Bellator thread for a while cos I'm planning on getting the recent stuff soon and working my way through. But yeah, I haven't seen Straus/Malegarie yet but seen a ton of praise about for it. I'll track it down soon. Â Really my top 10 could change day to day. My top 5 i'm sure about but the rest i never gave too much thought in placing them. Pretty much any of the honourable mentions could have taken a place between 6 and 10. I think we might have had more great fights this year than almost any year i can remember since becoming a fan. Â I think the reason Sonnen gets away with being such a dick for me, is that it's just so ridiculous what he says. It's so over the top and outlandish that he can't be taken seriously, and therefore I care less as a result about what he has to say. Â Yeah this sums him up for me. I just take everything he says as kind of tongue in cheek. I doubt he's serious about 90% of what he comes out with but either way people will either tune in hoping he wins or hoping he gets battered. Â Speaking of Sonnen, Dana is saying Anderson vs Sonnen 2 is gonna be the next title fight at 185 Â "It's the fight that everybody wants to see. People want to see Chael vs. Anderson. Anderson is in this position where he feels like the guy is so disrespectful he doesn't want to give him a shot. But Anderson will end up fighting Chael. The answer is yes." Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted November 10, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted November 10, 2011 Maybe they wouldn't wanna do them both on the same show but how massive would the Superbowl weekend PPV be if they put GSP vs Diaz and Silva vs Sonnen 2 on the same night? Â Huge but I doubt they would do that because both can main event seperate PPV's. Â It won't be long before UFC 150 takes place and surely the UFC will make a big deal with that milestone. I can see the UFC putting two UFC Championship fights on that show like they did with UFC 100.

Paid Members Egg Shen Posted November 10, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted November 10, 2011 thinking of Fox broadcasts now...surely the UFC are going to want to keep mega-fights for them? Or do you think that due to PPV revenue and whatever the big title fights are gonna stay on PPV? Â oh from next year too, facebook prelims will indeed end. Them prelims will goto Fuel TV, whilst the current Spike! portions will be on FX. Every fight still gets aired, hopefully they get them all on a tv station over here. They only seem to do 2 title fights together if they think one won't draw so well on it's own. Case in point Aldo/Florian probably wouldn't draw so well on it's own but together with Edgar/Maynard 3 at UFC 136 it's a fucking strong PPV. Â Is Anderson injured or is he ready to go ASAP?
