I'll be getting them McCarthy and Buffer books. Sound good. Hope Buffer includes the story of the time he had a fight with Frank Trigg in a lift

Shane Carwin's fucked his back up and is gonna be on the shelf again, until mid 2012 the reports say

As I ramped up my training for UFC 141 my body locked up during training. It wasn't like the Lesnar fight but my back just tightened up and I froze. I scheduled an MRI and the results showed that my disc in my lower back is into the nerves . My doctor gave me two options; retire and I could probably go on for a few years without surgery or I could undergo surgery and continue my career.

The decision was easy. I have unfinished business. The UFC had me lined up to face one of the best in the world and I am confident I have everything I need to be a Champion. I am scheduling surgery and I hope to return to the Octagon by spring or summer 2012.

Didn't even know he was scheduled to fight at UFC 141. Wonder who he was gonna fight? Werdum maybe? This isn't a good sign for Carwin, so many injuries in such a short span and for a guy that size and at the age of 36 time isn't exactly on his side either.

I've heard him tell the story a few times. During the Expo in London he was asked about it when he was doing a Q&A. He said that he has an excellent spinning backfist because of the way he has perfected the Buffer 180 and he managed to land it in the lift brawl.

Brilliant.

I believe it would have been Werdum. He is rumored to have signed with the UFC.

I would like to see Werdum fight Dave Herman if he is cleared to fight after his pre fight drug test. Stephan Struve could be another decent option.

Anyone read John McCarthys book?

I thought it was a fantastic read and probably my favourite MMA book. He goes into alot of detail from his early life and LAPD aside from the massive amount of MMA stuff. There are loads of very cool stories in there and it is written so well. Pick it up if you haven't already.

Also, Bruce Buffer will be releasing a book next year. That should be awesome.

Stu, you don't fuck about with these books. You fly through em.

Jorge Santiago has been cut from the UFC. A few Sengoku fighters were legit. seen as top 10 guys at the beginning of the year, but some heavy defeats since coming to the States kinda ridiculed that theory.

Think I may download John mcCarthy's book later as I just checked it's availability on iBooks.

Can't believe UFC 3 has Gabriel Gonzaga and Sean McCorkle, but no Matt Mitrione. What is that about at all? No Joe Lauzon in the Lightweight division too. WTF

I didn't know that Lauzon wasn't in it. Grim.

I guess with the two added weight divisions they had to cut a few people. Would have like to have a few of the Heavyweight sluggers such as Beltran and Browne in there though.

I think Travis Browne is in the game.

With the size of the Lightweight division, it was obvious they wouldn't all be in. But I was hoping Lauzon wouldn't be one of the guys cut from the game
