Im not quoting but i was reading a bit back there were someone said no point in striking its like the people who had there council tax raised couple of years ago and old people who decided they werent paying including a minister had to spend the night in jail, fair enough now if we thought the governement weren't doing the right thing the whole country should stop paying there council tax and then the governemnt would get into a flap and it would stir the shit right up...

I pay my council tax how much it does piss me off but if it happened i would be all for it!!!

Remember the Scots didnt just take poll tax lying down but it happened anyway!!

First preference; Andy Burnham. Ideology, sort of, trumped expediency and I went for the person that I thought best spoke for normal working people, and who's idea of a National Care Service I am particularly passionate about.

Second preference; David Miliband. Third Way progressivism, kind of, went against him. Though, having read Giddens' work recently, it's actual manifestation in contemporary politics is much distorted from what I've read. Blair and Clinton's 'third way' politics is quite far removed from the actual literature. Ideas on 'time dollar' schemes and social capital are all quite favourable, and besides that, expediently speaking, he's probably the most likely to win an election.

Third preference; Ed Miliband. Initially my preferred pick, though increasingly shown to be hollow and quite vindictive. Not convincing, and seems to lack substance.

Fourth preference; Ed Balls. Another I liked to begin with, but became more and more disenchanted with him, and actually don't think he could ever win an election.

Didn't rank Diane Abbott, abhor the disingenuous, self-righteous git of a woman...

I see the Lib-Dems have go their party conference on now

Has anyone caught the highlights show from this that was on last night?

Vince Cable's interview was hilarious. How many times can one man backtrack on what he said only a few months ago?

Comedic viewing of the highest order indeed.

Sadly David the election finally showed without any doubt that all politicians are the same.

Before the election the Dems sounded like a genuine voice for change (even though they had no chance of actually winning) and then on the QT following the election they sounded and acted just like the last lot.

I'm sorry, but the 'they're all the same' is the biggest load of populist, ignorant tosh i've ever, ever heard.

I mean Iraq; income tax; NHS; macroeconomics; ID cards; control orders; criminal justice policy (note - positives and negatives listed). There's such a massive, massive ideological gulf between the coalition and the last government that the 'they're all the same' argument has no purchase beyond 'they all wear suits' and 'they're all well educated'.

I'm a afraid the Con-Dems are just a continuation of more of the same, as were Nu-Labour to the Tories. Yes they shuffle the pack around but they all have the same COMMON PURPOSE.

You'll find with the budget they give with one hand and take away with the other, ie green taxes (did I mention something recently about science being used to control people...)

They're all pro EU, doing nothing for our sovereignty. They need to be creating jobs jobs not squeezing out more from out back pockets in the form of stealth taxes and bumping up the cost of living in the process.

At least I can say I wasn't fooled into voting for neither party in power.

Er, WTF?

Isnt that the whole point of a budget to make sure that which is financed, is financed, and that which isnt, isnt inorder to balance the books?

Soverignity is important how and to what? How are they all pro EU?. How do you create jobs from nothing? Where are these new jobs going to come from and how are they to be funded? What new stealth taxes? Cost of living will increase anyway unless we have negative inflation, even then that wont stop some prices going up.

Been eating too many Dime (Daim) Bars?

I'm saying NuLabour were a continuation of the Tories and there is little change with what's in power now, they're all the same. Blair's NuLabour government banned fox hunting woopy doo! They weren't socialists, they didn't renationalise utilities and British rail or reverse anything else Thatcher did.

COMMON PURPOSE - www.cpexposed.com was in my sig for a while. You may of heard of NuLabour think tank DEMOS, Common Purpose are connected to that same group. There is no choice in the 3 established parties hence the hung parliament.

That's correct, my point is most people won't be any better off despite claims. If the lower waged pay less or no income tax they'll end up paying more for food because of the increase on fuel to distribute to supermarkets.

Sovereignty is VERY important, I wish to keep Common Law and to survive as a nation. The leaders of all 3 established political parties are pro EU. We weren't given a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty now we're stuffed. The Green taxes are the stealth taxes. Create jobs from nothing? That's right we have nothing, something needs to be created providing jobs, I was waiting to hear something inspirational from Clegg and got bugger all!
