I'm enjoying watching the World of Sport matches shown on Sky channel 228, and remember watching British Wrestling as a kid, more so when it was a standalone programme as opposed to being on World of Sport though.

My question is, what wrestling company actually was it that put on "the wrestling"? I've heard names such as All Star, Dale Martin, Joint Promotions etc, but what promotion actually put it on?

I too was after a copy of Heatwave 1997 so I asked Rob Feinstein over at RF Video about it and got this reply.

"They never put it out sorry...not sure why but Paul E never released it"

Looks like there may be no original footage of these shows left unless WWE has it.

Joint Promotions until the end of 1986. (Joint Promotions was an alliance of promoters, with Dale Martin being the one covering Southern England.)

In 1987 and 88 it was split between Joint and All Star, with a handful of WWF shows.

Thank you

Was it Joint that got the television coverage or was that split between other members of the alliance? Do you know who covered Northern England?

Ok so i know the story of John morrison-Melina-Batista, (he went on a date with them, and them aparently waited outside a hotel room whilst batista gave her one.). I recently heard from a video by val venis, that Melina also shagged Mike knox, i just wanted to know if that had any random story to it?

Joint wasn't a promotion itself, it was the alliance.

The main promoters that made up Joint were Dale Martin (South), Best/Wryton (Midlands/NorthWest), Morrell/Beresford (Yorkshire/Midlands) and Relwyskow/Green (North).

British wrestling related question - does anyone know when Reslo started, and the year it ended? I know it finished after World of Sport, as there's a Kojima/Finlay match from 95 on Youtube.

Edit: Regarding Skip Sheffield, I met him about a month ago in Florida, and it looked like his hand was playing him up a lot still. He posed for photos with a bunch of kids, but said that he couldn't physically sign autographs.

Sorry, I meant to say "Dale Martin" not Joint, but you've already answered that question as well as I remember seeing Best / Wryton on the turnbuckles. Sadly, I thought that was a beer, not a promotion! Thought it was an advert!

Are any of the four companies mentioned there still going in some form or other, or have any direct history with any modern promotions?

I saw a couple of flyers earlier on advertising two UWE shows here in August and I'm just wondering if anybody knows anything about them? The flyers were very All Star-esque and that's exactly what I'm expecting them to be like but I'm still pretty curious nonetheless. I'll be attending the shows because there's a massive shortage of wrestling events that take place anywhere around here. I think the last time I went to a live show locally was around three or four years ago now.

Cheers.

What was the story behind WWE losing the master tape of one of the episodes of Nitro a few years ago?

They lent it out to Butch and he taped over it with German Porn, straight off DSF. The perils of forgetting the long play feature.
