  1. Date Night

Got this on DVD a while back and enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. Both the leads are good, Mark Wahlberg is quite good too. Some genuinly funny moments in it.

Currently i've been making my way through the series 1-7 boxset of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Really enjoying it. Up to series 5 at the minute and it seems the show gets funnier with every season. In terms of how it all flows it's very hit and miss. Some episodes will build slowly up to one massive punchline, and some will be belly laughs throughout. The only criticisms i'd have of it are that every argument he gets in to is often a variation of the same thing. (black/disabled/gay/lesbian/blind/foreign/old person is overly militant for no reason). It becomes quite annoying to the point I groan every time Rhonda comes on the screen because it's always the same "LARRY HATES THE BLACK MAN" stuff. Probably the only poor writing it has.

    Krazee-Eyez Killa was genius though.

  2. I'll happily do it. I'll get a thread set up some point this week with all the gubbins in it and we can get things done nice and early. If it's alright with you Tommy, I'll give you access to the email too as I'm on holiday from the 19th December. Obviously by then, all the pairings and addresses will have been long sent out, but I wouldn't mind someone keeping an eye on it in case any emails come through as Christmas approaches, from people wondering where their pressie is. If that's okay, I'll then mention it in the thread.

    Christmas~!

Can we have it so the offenders from the CD one who didn't get their CDs to people don't take part in this?.

  3. Watched Napoleon Dynamite last night. I can confidently say that this film is the Citizen Kane of our generation. 5*, 10/10. Excellent from top to bottom.

    Seriously?

Piss poor acting, totally unfunny, possibly one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

    -5 Stars. -10/10.

Why would I not be serious?

If that's your opinion of the film then fair enough, but you're wrong.

  4. What i.d and such is enough to sell to cex in store?

If you have a CEX Card then that's your ID.

    i dont have one :(

They're free, and you need one to trade with CEX. Don't think you need one to buy though. Just get one. Only takes like 5 minutes.

Thanks! i assume this is done in store?

    Yeah. Easy peasy.

  5. Doesn't Supremo still post here? Or have I been reading posts by someone else with a Superman avatar and thinking it was Supremo?

He doesn't post that often, but he's still knocking about. What happened with the avatar (from what Supremo said in the super elite paid members section) is that Mr.Showtime hotlinked Supremo's avatar, so Supremo just changed it to a penis.

  6. They've completely dropped it now though havn't they? Didn't they just scrap it when they got Kurt Angle to beat his way through it. Logically it couldn't work when they did that because not only could it constantly change in a way that Kurt would have to fight the same person more than once, but we all knew Kurt would never lose. They just had the whole Hardy/Anderson/Angle/Pope thing instead didn't they?

  7. I can't believe you only gave it 2/10. You mentalist. Though I guess this will be half the fun of this Retro thing.

World of Illusion: Starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck

One of the greatest, truly co-operative games of all time. World of Illusion is one of my fondest memories as a childhood. You probably know by now i'm a huge fan of platform games, so naturally I have a history with this game.

I'll start with the Graphics. They are pretty amazing for a Megadrive game. Aside from the AAA titles like Sonic, the Megadrive had some pretty ugly graphics sometimes. This is not one of those games however, as not only are the graphics really lush, but also varied. The levels in this game take you from enchanted forests, through caves and the skies, to Wonderland and the graphics never back down.

You'll recognise half of the levels from other Disney films and cartoons, as levels are set in places inspired by Alice in Wonderland, and The Little Mermaid. If you love Disney, you'll enjoy the levels on this.

You can play as Mickey or Donald, or both if you have a friend. The best thing about this is that all 3 runs through have different levels so if you think that playing alone means you miss out on something, it makes up by giving you two seperate run-throughs. The co-op is where this game is at though.

They both have unique aspects such as Donald's rump being too fat to crawl through gaps, so Mickey has to pull him. You also have to use things such as ropes and see-saws to help each other make it through the level. The Gameplay is top notch. The characters handle fine and accurately when it comes to moving and jumping. Your main attack is your magic cape which turns the baddies into animals and flowers when you hit them. The enemies vary between each level and can range from forest soldiers to sharks and cowboys.

Despite everything else in the game being of such good quality, it's the music that I enjoy most. I still hum the 2nd level's music every now and again. This one -

For a Megadrive game, they did a great job of hiding the capabilities of the sound and produced one of the best Platform game soundtracks on the console that wasn't named Sonic.

There's not an awful lot to go into when it comes to older games like this. They don't have all the frills and fancyness of the newer consoles, but you know which games stand the test of time and this happens to be one of them. It's a shame that there isn't any newer generation games like this one, or that it hasn't gotten a Live Arcade release.

Also, Pat. The cards are health, not "powerups". My opinions are pretty much the exact opposite to yours! . Love the graphics, love the music, love the pace of the game and variety of stages.

  8. Didn't Jericho aim to hit Shawn Michaels though, and he just got out the way? On screen it wasn't as though Jericho was aiming to smack Mrs.Showstopper. It was an accident. Well that's how I remember it, can't be bothered watching it again. I liked it. Would it have been okay if Y2J put her in the Walls of Jericho and made her squeal like a little piggie instead?

What part of "I didn't enjoy seeing a woman hit in the face for real" don't people understand?

I think Chris Brown is the fucking man. Does that upset you treacle?

    Is that really on?

Yeah, have you seen how irritating Rihanna and her music are?

Some would say she deserved it.

The injuries look worse than they actually are, because her head is swollen and massive anyway.
