  1. A friend of mine (not me) has got rid of Sky and was speaking to a few of his mates who said they pay Ā£60 a year for a fire stick that has all the channels loaded on to it. If my friend (definitely not me) got in on the action would there be any risks? Heā€™s a bit worried about upsetting his internet provider or something like that, is he worrying unnecessarily?

  2. The Stunt Man (1980)

I put this on in the background while I was working yesterday but after ten minutes it grabbed me by the balls and I was hooked

A criminal on the run inadvertently runs into a WW1 film set and begins to hide in plain sight as a stuntman. His head is all over the place and he finds it increasingly more difficult to separate the stunts from real life.Ā

He also has to deal with Peter Oā€™Toole (who is fucking brilliant in this), the crazy British Director who couldnā€™t give a fuck about anything, or anyone. All he cares about is getting the perfect shot.Ā

Really great action scenes throughout and zips along nicely. The third act is a bit slow in places but in general this was a blast and highly recommended. Thereā€™s a decent version on YouTubeĀ

  3. Not to clog up the other thread with more Thunderbirds chat - but I remembered earlier that for some bizarre reason my old man hung my old Thunderbirds duvet cover up on the wall at his wedding reception a few years ago. Hereā€™s the best picture I can findĀ

Presumably there was some Farming Simulator merch on the top table

  4. I remember Stingray and have heard of Captain Scarlett (canā€™t remember it though). Never heard of Joe 90.

Look at this picture, this was the launch of the sun probe. I donā€™t know for sure but Iā€™m guessing the sun probe was only used for one episode, so look at the trouble they went to for a model for just one episode. Itā€™s crazy.Ā

There is a documentary about it on Amazon called Supermarionation which Iā€™m going to check out

  5. Got a call from my old man the other day who said heā€™d got a new DVD and couldnā€™t wait to watch it with me. I went over and he said ā€œSit down, we have TWENTY SEVEN hours of Thunderbirds to watch!ā€Ā

We sat down and watched a random episode called Sun Probe. What a great TV show this was! I was obsessed with it as a kid but havenā€™t watched it for over 25 years. I thought it would be crap to be honest, but I was blown away by the detail of it all, and there is more imagination in one minute of this show then a lot of the rubbish my kids seem to watch these days. It was so good that Iā€™m shocked itā€™s not on TV anywhere to be honest. Any other Thunderbirds fans? I canā€™t wait to go back for another 26 hours.Ā

  6. The old social faux pas thread is archived now so thought Iā€™d post this hereĀ

A friend of mine runs a beauty parlor Ā from her house and she posted this on Instagram which really cracked me up.

She had a new client come in for a treatment which involved covering her face with a mask. As my friend put the mask on this ladies face she was supposed to say ā€œPrepare to relaxā€ but for some reason said ā€œPrepare to dieā€ instead!

Have they patched it back so the cars have the appropriate tyres to enable you to get gold on them?Ā

Yep thatā€™s all sorted now, what a cock up that was

Fall Guys trophies will become unobtainable on 9th May, so Iā€™m going to mainline that over the next month to get as many as I can. No way Iā€™m going to get the five wins in a row but hopefully I can tick off some of the others

  8. Where was that @Egg ShenĀ ? One of my best nights out was King 810ā€™s first UK show at a venue called The Thekla in Bristol. Me and my mate were walking around trying to find it until we saw someone carrying a drumkit onto a boat and realised the show was on the boat!Ā

  9. Off topic but thereā€™s a great book called The Killing Fields of Cambodia: Surviving a Living Hell by Sokphal Din. He works on the tills in a nearby Sainsburyā€™s and heā€™s a really lovely bloke. Also Iā€™m pretty sure proceeds from the book goes to charityĀ

I am toying with the idea of doing 3 weeks in Costa Rica by myself in Dec. Its been on my list for years, herself has no interest in going but want to get it done before we have kids.Ā

If your wife is telling you thatā€™s ok Iā€™m telling you sheā€™s lyingĀ

  11. I used to follow Reading away occasionally and the one ground that sticks out for me was QPR which is literally in the middle of a housing estate, and the walkway to the away stand is between two houses

    Ā

It seemed odd to me as I was used to the Madejski, which isnā€™t close to anything, but I guess most city clubs have a similar set up to QPR

  12. People who use hashtags in messages. In a family group chat today we had a message from a family member that said ā€œWe are going to the common today for a #walkwiththenutters šŸ˜‚ #andthedogstoo šŸ˜‚ā€ fuck sakeĀ
