  1. Had a quick look at the Elimination Chamber matches on Wikipedia, the only one that looks like it comes near is No Way Out 2008.

Undertaker - 42, Batista - 39, Finlay - 50, MVP - 34, Great Khali - 35 and Big Daddy V - 38. That's by my reckoning 238, so still 6 years short on this years one. 2008 also had a bit of an outlier with Finlay.

Just switched on the Superbowl and there's too many people in that stadium considering we're in the middle of a pandemic imo. The cardboard cutouts are good, but still...

Wrestlemania's going to be exactly the same isn't it? :/

22,000 fans apparently. Reckon Vince will get 1,500 -2,000 on the pitch but may lose about the same due to a probably elaborate set.

  3. Re: 'Dot' Sibley, some people (not on here) are so obsessed with test cricket being boring if a team hasn't scored over 400 and been bowled out in a day. Saw a few posts on Twitter that it was a dull day of cricket. It was a sensible day of cricket, India didn't do enough to tempt the English batsmen, so they did the right thing by staying out there and pick off the bad balls.

I thought it was nice to see our batsman batting (relatively) sensibly. I woke up really early this morning, and was really impressed with Burns and Sibley and then out of nowhere Burns plays a stupid attempt at a reverse sweep. Lawrence was a touch unlucky to face Bumrah in his first balls, but that was clever captaining by Kohli knowing that Lawrence played quite well against spinners against Sri Lanka. Be interesting tomorrow if Stokes is so reserved against the bowling.

Well that game last night thoroughly annoyed me. The referees in this country have been shit for years and VAR has somehow made them even more shit.

I can see how it might have been a penalty, if it happened elsewhere on the pitch and a free kick was given nobody would say anything. I really struggle to see how it can be a red card though, strictly he didn't play the ball, but he also didn't deliberately take the player out.

I'm not sure it's the refs fault, you must have consistency in these situations and if the PGMOL have drilled these interpretations in to the referees that is where the problem lies. It's better that everyone gets sent off (or realistically everyone doesn't get sent off) rather than some getting sent off and some not.

On another Charlotte note, I know when they were 1st in the Rumble together her and Lacey went at it but after that initial brawl they never bothered with each other again during the match did they?  for such a heated feud they sharp forgot about it

I could be misremembering this as I crashed out just after the Womens Rumble and was fighting sleep for a while

I mentioned it earlier but I think she may have hurt Lacey legit. It all seemed to end very abruptly.
@Supremo I don’t disagree with other comments about Charlotte but this particular story is that Lacey and her dad cost her and Asuka, a face, a title against other heel wrestlers. Jerry’s commentary goes totally against the ‘storyline’ and it doesn’t make sense.

It pains me so much to see Gareth Bale jog around and do nothing in particular.

It pained you? I was shocked, I remember a few years back seeing Pogba and thinking the bloke was taking the piss out of United because he was so pointless. I felt that about Bale last night. It might just be that Spurs are suffering this weird lack of direction and that rubbed off on him but was really expecting a player of his calibre to drag the team out of it's shell.

Also, lol at the people who thought bringing Jillian Hall would be a big deal. Betting that she would have got the Carlos Colon pop from the 93 Rumble?

The biggest problem however was that only 2 of the 30 in the men's Rumble were under the age of 30. That's a huge problem going forward. In 5 years who are going to be the guys to be the top guys and with the Peacock deal at 200 million a year and the brand being bigger than the wrestlers mentality, WWE television is going to be very meh in the next decade.

Do you really think anyone actually though that? I mean nobody would have got a pop in an empty arena anyway. The biggest pop for an entry in the 93 rumble was for Max Moon.

I don't think it matters how old someone is, if they're booked well then it doesn't really matter. Most of the best stars of years past have always been in their peak in their 30's. Aside from the Rock were any of the other big stars under 30? Bret was at his best when he was 36, Steve Austin 32, Triple H 33, Undertaker 30, Macho Man 35 etc..

@sukhygreat insight, imagine all that time you wasted to watch it when it seems you were gonna hate it irrespective of what was presented to you.

Sounds like they at least didn't wheel out any racists, rapists or murderers. Things are looking up.

Well they did have Matt Riddle, who actually put in a pretty decent performance until he inexplicably eliminated himself. Jerry Lawler's commentary in the Rumble was a bit off too, especially seeing as they want to move away from the sexualisation of the women.

Just remembered, I had a proper laugh out loud moment during the womens rumble. I was fuming that they had the 24/7 thing in the match, but when Truth pinned Alicia Fox and everyone was chasing Truth, about 3 seconds later just at the bottom of the screen you could see Alicia chasing too, made my chuckle.

Last point I need to make is that camera they used while the wrestlers were coming down making there entrance looked fucking shocking, It looked out of focus and like the lens was dirty. every time the cut to that camera it just looked so terrible and not that of the biggest/Richest company in the world. Also they fucking used the pirate theme for last years wrestlemania and they have just rehashed it again for this year which is also a major sign that the company has stopped caring.

Isn't that the 8k camera? The one where it focuses heavily on the person and the background is slightly out of focus to emphasise the wrestler?

Michael Cole is awful and is one of the reasons why I stopped watching. He said something along the lines of number 3 is hard to win from or no ones won from that number. Despite Bianca Belair winning from that spot earlier on the show. And Ric Flair won it from number 3 at one of the most memorable rumbles.

Yeah that was fucking ridiculous. I went straight from watching the womens rumble with Belair winning from 3, to 5 minutes later Cole saying it's the worst number cause it spends the least amount of time in the rumble. Fucking moronic, even if I hadn't skipped it's still ridiculous for the reasons you said.

Thought the womens rumble was quite good. There were a couple of spots that I personally thought looked a bit daft but it was quite an easy watch and I think it was more enjoyable than the mens. When Nia was throwing punches against Bazsler looked ridiculous, which is odd considering she'd normally be smacking people in the face, I guess she knows she'll get a right hand back from Bazsler.

I liked Charlotte's fire when Lacey came in but I wonder if she actually hurt Lacey, as the brawl got called off pretty quickly and a couple of points Lacey just seemed out of it, at one point she was supposed to be choking someone in the corner, but she had her foot on the top rope absolutely nowhere near the person but Lacey was still selling it. Jerry Lawler's commentary about the Flairs and Evans was ridiculous too, it made no sense to me, especially when the other commentators were trying to reinforce Lacey and Ric being the bad guys.

I know all of them are athletes, but Bianca Belair is next level, she really is something. I'm sure near the end she had Jax up on her shoulders and just looked amazing.

  11. Yeah Brock won 2003.

Kane deserved to win 2001, he was utterly dominant and the only way Austin could get him out was by smashing with a chair. I remember it being shit at the time, and I watched it the other day and it still felt the same. Obviously they were never gonna put Kane in a main event at Mania, but 'he deserved it'

  12. I really enjoyed that. Interesting that even Hulk acknowledged, with hindsight, that him winning the belt at WM9 was a bad call. Romans reaction to it was great too.
My heart broke when they had to wheel out a forklift to get Yoko to the back when he got injured. Not sure if it hits home as a bigger person myself but that absolutely broke my heart. Poor bastard, a fucking forklift truck.

Top class shithousery this morning in the Big Bash. James Vince 98 not out. scores level. AJ Tye bowls a wide. Not at all in the spirit of the game, but top work by the bowler.

There was also a really poor umpire decision against Mitch Marsh in this game. As an umpire Lion, how do you feel about people calling for dismissals when they know full well the batsman isn’t out?

  14. I think Liverpool need anyone they can get at the moment. I'd be happy for you to take Eric Dier if you want. I'll pay his train fare :)

Seriously, you guys have been so unlucky with injuries this season. I'd be happy for you to have Toby rather than him being wasted on the bench

EDIT - I think Mustaphi is a world cup winner so he's no mug

With some people, I think there's an element of performing roughly to the level they're being given. Give Mox some motivation and a reason to be there, and he'll turn it up. Book him in a gasmask, and he'll underperform.

Same thing, I think, with Nakamura. If he's booked as a big deal, he'll perform as a big deal - look at his NXT run or NJPW time as an example of that. But if you want him bumbling around the midcard, he's going to perform at exactly that level, and concentrate on his surfing instead*.

Some people are motivated to prove themselves with the brass ring thing. Others will take the approach 'well, if you've seen how good I am and you don't want that, fine - if you want me to do this instead, I'll do this.'

*To be fair, I'm the guy that thinks Nakamura should have won the Rumble and been the Lesnar-beater out of NXT. While I haven't seen any of his run since his AJ feud, it sounds like he's been as half-arsed as his booking since then.

Whilst I agree with the sentiment about needing motivation, it is unprofessional to maybe half-arse things if they're not going your way. I will not disagree that having Mox in a gas mask was ridiculous, didnt they stick needles in his bum too? Maybe I made that up?

Why did you think it was women who reported them?

I used Karen inappropriately. Anyway it's just my opinion and I think I've definitely been scarred by social media and the abuse our services get.

  17. If you're just asking about workplace safety and they say you're unprofessional I think it's worth speaking to your union rep. I wouldn't give up on it, I'm sure other colleagues probably have the same reservations.
