  1. Just checked in on the phillies, and what the bloody hell is going on? They are at the bottom of east side national league!

I havent kept up with base ball since the old Channel 5 days to be honest (as per an above post), it sucks to see them doing so badly! How long of the season is left?

  2. What reasons did Rick Rude give for leaving the WWF in 1990?

I might be wrong, but was it something along the line of him not being used in the main events, and constantly putting over the big guys, basically being a Jobber to the stars?

  3. Aparently there are some goblins like creatures knocking about:

Goblins attacks family, burn down homestead

Three huts and a house were flattened last Sunday, while people are occasionally being pelted with stones by unseen things, believed to be goblins at a Chisumbanje homestead in Chipinge South where mysterious occurrences are haunting the Sithole Family.

In this true to life tragedy whose scripts reads like a horror movie, the Sithole family had to make do with stones being thrown at them for the past two months, while soil is intermittently tossed into their pots by invisible assailants as they will be preparing food. However, things came to a boil early last week when three huts at the homestead as well as a house suddenly went up in smoke and the family now sleeps in the open, while the few belongings they managed to salvage from the raging fire are heaped outside.

Whenever one young male member of the family, Taso Sithole (16) entered each of the huts and as soon as he came out, that hut would unexpectedly go up in smoke and this happened on all the four structures that were burnt at the homestead. To make matters worse, efforts to put out the fire were rendered futile as the well at the homestead mysteriously ran dry, only for the well to automatically fill up to the brim with water soon after the huts had been razed.

A visibly traumatised Sarah Muyambo (52) said they were not aware of the hand behind the calamity. She, however, admitted that her 29-year-old son was once fingered by some traditional healers as having caused the misfortunes after he had allegedly laid his hands on some money making magical charms!

"It was around 10am when the fire started. All along we were used to being occasionally pelted with stones, while soil would be hurled in our pots as we were cooking sadza. In fact, it has been long since we last prepared a decent meal simple because you would not want to spend a long time preparing a meal, lest soil would be thrown in whatever you will be cooking. My son, we do not even know why the Lord has allowed this to happen to us. So many things have been said by our neighbours and other passers-by, but no one knows the truth yet. As per our tradition, when such things happen, we consulted different traditional healers for possible solutions. On more than one occasion, we were told that my son - Enoth, is responsible. They said he laid his hands on some money-making magical charms and things are now backfiring. When he returned from Bindura we went to one traditional healer with him so that he could hear it from the horse's mouse, but he vehemently denied the allegations."

She added that the family has been left without any option, but to come out in the open and let the world know that they were in serious trouble. She said different Christian groups visited her home and prayed, but nothing has improved yet.

"We are now sleeping in the open. We have no choice. After all, we hardly enjoy peaceful nights because at times we are pelted with stones by some unseen assailants. Today, it happened about three times when all of a sudden we found ourselves scurrying for cover as we were being pelted with stones. Sometimes some big objects like pots mysteriously rise from the ground coming in your direction and you just need to be alert all the time," she said.

In a separate interview, Enoch professed ignorance on the causes of the calamity that has befallen their family. The distraught Enock said he actually came back from Bindura to clear his name.

"I was told while I was in Bindura that I was being fingered by some traditional healers as the person behind the mysterious happenings at our home. That is why I came back to clear my name. I know nothing about it. I have never consulted any traditional healers with the aim of acquiring riches. My hands are clean," he said.

However, some neighbours confirmed that strange things were taking place at the Sithole homestead. Others went on to claim that snake-like creatures wearing sunglasses, a suit and a pair of shoes had been seen at the homestead.

  4. He was an associate producer on Raw, working alongside Shane McMahon and was like the head producer on shows like Mania and All American Wrestling. He didn't catalog the video library. They've always had a team of people to do that. He was groomed to be one of the heads in the front office, because Vince liked him so much at the time (just not as a worker), until he began hanging out with Shane McMahon and he got heat with the big players in the office. Raven said he'd view videos when there was nothing to do because you get those privileges when you work for WWF/WWE.

Ahh thats what i had heard, my bad on that one.

On paper being one of the head producers of WWE or Going to work on the indies for the rest of your life? I know which one I'd pick.

  5. From what I understand part of Raven job in 94 was to catalog some of the WWF video library, so he would spend months on end just watching old wrestling tapes. He could of literally done nothing for the rest of his entire life if WWE only wanted him to do jobs like this, whilst pitching in for creative stuff.

  6. I remember reading many years ago about some drawings/hieroglyphics that were found. I can't remember where in the world this was so I don't know if it was some sort of cave or pyramid, but it seemed to indicate that they were referring to UFO's. These drawings/hieroglyphics date back some thousands of years, which I found incredibly interesting (if that is what they were referring to).

I'll see if I can find any more on this during my lunch break.

Are you talking about Ancient Astronauts?

If you have a quick wiki in relation to that, its to do with aprently loads of random pictures/statues/other depictations of "aliens" showing up in alot of older civilisations around the world, and aparently in the bible. Very interesting read either way really!

  7. I always thought Ravens WWE run was great. Some generic stuff with him only half lurking in the background for the most part, but some cracking matches , That match with Rhyno at Backlash was amazing.

Raven could of been a decent mid carder for wwe, had he not left/became suddenly really old looking.

  8. There's a fantastic book called Mirage Men that goes into the lengths the government(s) went to to perpetrate the UFO myth. During the cold war especially, the US wanted other nations to see those reports and pictures of flying saucers and think that they were the ones the aliens were interested in, and possibly even talking to. Most of the actual cover up was covering up the fact that the vast majority of big sightings in the 40s-70s were part of that propaganda machine. There are a ton of sightings from that era of UFOs performing impossible maneuvers and being chased by the airforce before disappearing, and those radar reports were always seen as one of the most convincing pieces of hard evidence. Occam's razor though, there was actually nothing in the air to begin with, and most (or all) of those incidents were down to a rader spoofing system that had been around since the 40s. Even the whole Man in Black thing was, a lot of the time, down to government employees literally paid to fuck with people just to further that myth; visiting witnesses while in character and knowing that stuff would spread worldwide, giving off the impression of a government that was down with ET.

One of the most interesting parts of the book is how they drove a man to a complete mental breakdown by giving him a computer and telling him to monitor 'alien transmissions' from a nearby supposed secret alien base, which were piped straight into the computer from the officials who gave it to him. The guy was a UFOlogy bigwig, and he'd leak all these details in his newsletters, and to other UFO nuts, and the stories would spread. It sent him utterly insane.

It's being made into a documentary at the moment, which should be great.

I Might have to check that book out, as that sounds amazing, especially about the UFO guy monotoring what in reality, was most likely 2 blokes eating pizza making up alien invasion stuff, and that it sent him loopey is just the topping of that cake, will have to look into that. Are there any pages via the ole interweb about that?

EDIT: Not that I can recall the full story, but did anybody here anything more about that documentary team who had supposedly found "100% proof" of alien life in the amazon rain forest (or something similar to that effect)?

  9. Awesome , will keep my eyes peeled for that.

If you can, it might be worth trying to find out which section of the army this came from, and when abouts it was taken. As to be fair, for a second I thought this bloke may of been in the actual picture, all be it a little bit further back in the stand, because of how clear you can see his face.

For what its worth, if he is on other pictures slightly older than this one, people may of thought he was actually in them due to exposure (that is of course if he is on them).

Barring that I'm sure there is a record of these pictures somewher, so happy hunting!

  10. Doesnt it depend on the exposure of the picture itself, like it can only be the odd thing that pops up on the picture, rather than two whole pictures overlapping, (which also does happen depending on what goes on with the picture).

As for the taking of the pictures, I would of thought they took everybodys picture at some point (as they do now really) and the fact he may of died X ammount of days later may not be very suprising at all, as many people didnt last very long at all from what I'm aware. As Loki said the exposure can still take effect a few days or so later, so his personal picture may of been a few days prior. Adding on top of that, that he may of turned up in other pictures (i would of thought) but nobody else noticed.

I'm not saying you are wrong, although there are alot of more likely cases to what is going in these types pictures

  11. What do you mean by "You would say that"? I actually forgot to include a copy of the photo I was talking about :/ If you have a pretty vague looking photo then sure it makes sense someone might see a dead relative when infact it's just a dodgy blur or whatever, but in cases where the picture is actually reasonably clear, such as the one I've now posted above I think it's clear enough to identify the person.

I personally think even if you could full on make out the face, some relatives might still "Want" to see that person, and just say "Yes that is 100% him". I personally think it still might be a case of double exposure or something along those lines, it just seems a bit to easy to have that particular idea give some form of false identification.

  12. That's always the line with ghost photos though: "The story goes...". The story goes that it's not my mate in a sheet dancing around in the background.

This thing with ghosts though is what would be considered hard evidence? Obviously you get the photos and videos that can be easily discredited as double exposure, and other logical explanations, but when you get the ones that can't. For example that photo with the man in the backseat of the car, surely all you can really have is the photo along with the witness statement that no one else was in the car?

I'm quite a fan of photos where someone can actually be identified such as a dead relative.

I find this one interesting from WWI. The story is that face belongs to an air machanic who had been killed days before the photos was taken. I would argue that there is enough of his face showing for those that knew him to be able to make a good identification.

See you would say that, although I might say that it could be a double exposure still, and with a bit of blur in there, a relative might make a face out of nothing due to them wanting to see that person. (if that makes any sense).

  13. With Mexico, it's definitely a cultural thing. South America had these crazy cases pre-dating the 1947 Kenneth Arnold sighting, which was essentially the birth of UFOs, and they're heavily predisposed towards visionary encounters, with a big history of Virgin Mary sightings, and late-90s onwards, the Chupacabras. South America gets a lot of mass UFO sightings, which is a nice Catholic mirror for the 1917 Miracle of the Sun in Portugal, where 30,000-100,000 people watched the sun dancing around the sky with Jesus, Mary and Joseph. In Europe, aliens took the cultural place of fairies. People 'saw' and met fairies all the time in the middle ages, and even right up to the Cottingley hoax, people were still willing to believe their existence. Literature of the time is full of stories and reports of people who were kidnapped by fairies (hence the phrase "Away with the fairies"), had their babies stolen and replaced with a wooden doppelganger, or just hung out with them and had a bit of a dance. There are some fantastic field guides to fairies, written around the eighteenth century. Anyway, I'm rambling, but those stories are exactly parallel to the alien abduction folklore that took over during the twentieth century. Just switch 'fairy' with 'gray'. South America has the alien stuff too now, but before that, it was gnomes.

Just had a quick look, and those are very interesting! For what its worth, I had heard of a story from America, from a few hundread years ago in which a whole town aparently saw a giant "Serpent" in the sky, which suddenly evapourated/burst into flames as quickly as it seemed to randomly appear. I cant remeber the whole story, but it caught my attention at the time. Can anybody recall this at all?
  14. Wasnt Vinnie Jones being looked at for the Kurgen for this? As for Ryan Reynolds, I'm not 100% on him being the Highlander. I do think at times he is a great actor when hes not doing the whole "Sarcastic Ryan Reynolds" thing he always has to do, but then again do we think his scottish accent would be as suspect as Christopher Lambert's?

  15. My nephew was upset to not be able to have a green John Cena t shirt at the live shows recently. Anyone know where is the best place to buy the damned thing?

WWE's official shop via WWE.com, WWE Euro Shop (although they might not have it yet) or ebay are your best bets mate!
  16. Bloody hell, this looks amazing!I was a fan of NXT for the first two runs, although did drift away for the last few times around, but this looks something else! I'm guessing at very least it'll be on wwe.com or youtube? The set up looks great, along with the FCW guys getting on TV (sort of), and it becomes a good introduction for the new guys to WWE fans! Guessing this means FCW becomes the actual training ground, rather than having its own show/titles etc? Will be checking this out for sure!

  17. Has there ever been a Curry Man action figure? If so, where can I get one?

The only ones i can find are custom made. For custom action figures, I'd give it a google if you fancy it. For whats its worth, custom figures can be very good whilst others can be terrible. Have a shop around if you fancy a custom figure.I'd advised to check out the Wrestlingfigs.com forums to check out customs on there, then ask around for prices. Hope that helps
  18. Hmmm, not sure why i was thinking it was being rushed out then. Personally, I thought Casino Royale was "good", whilst the last one (Quantum of Solace) was a little shite. (I was a fan of the opening titles/song in QOS, I must say.)I'm sure this one will be much better, as I do like Daniel Craig as Bond. (I will agree with Butch and vote for Roger Moore as Undisputed World James Bond Champion though)

  19. When is Skyfall coming out then? I only ask as for some reason, I've got in my head this has been "Rushed out". Not that it may be a bad(or good) thing really, but I had heard about all the stuff about MGM having trouble with money which has caused the latest Bond to be put on halt. A bout 6 months later and its nearly out. Now I'm aware that i've most likely just missed all the news about it, but has it been in production for a while?

  20. From What i understand, it doesnt just directly apply to Hogan shirt, its dependant on what ever is going on at the time.Reports are going round saying WWE are taking away signs related to the Bella Twins at the moment, because they have just been released. I would dare say if this had ever happend, it was around the time Hogan was in the news for something. They have done it with TNA related Signs/tshirts before also.Again its not a "100% everytime" sort of thing, and I would be worried. Just keep your coat zipped up until you're in the actual arena or something.

  21. With Davey having to drop the IWGP tag belts, and now being pulled from BOSJ tournament in Japan, could this point towards an much larger injury, (and as such) a title change with Steen?Personally I hope Steen wins anyway, but thought it might be a relevent topic.

  22. Drop your socks and grab your cocks, it's massive erection time:

    http://www.youtube.com/embed/XQf3YP8p85I

Expendables 2. The action movie you see in your dreams. It has, literally, everything.

Just watched that, and good god that looks amazing. I cant help but think alot of younger teens (around 16 and under) may not really have a clue who half of these people actually are! The stuff with Arnie looks a bit cheesey/over the top, but who cares when you have CHUCK NORRIS!! Amazing

That does look pure gold to be honest. Would i be right in thinking that spiderman has links to the Avengers in the comic books? I have a feeling he'll be rocking up in Avengers 2 or 3
