  1. Didn't they do that in the early TNA days between TNA and "Sports Entertainment Xtreme?". Plus i believe on a smaller scale it was done to a degree a few years later with TNA vs NWA things popping up.

TNA cannot be trusted with anything, other than trying to outdo WWE at WWE's own game. I was a fan of TNA initially, dropped out after it went a bit down hill and got back on board a year or so ago. Loved everything that was going on with Bobby Roode, Austin Aries etc.

For me its just the fact they need to realise what they have. The whole Bobby Roode angle was amazing, and he clearly was the best thing going. He should still be champion now in my eyes. James Storm seems to have lost momentum, and Austin Aries was pushed a little bit to soon, now lumping two of the most talented workers in some sort of "comedy" style tag team.

A lot of fans read the result hoping the product gets better, but when it sounds like shit, why would you watch it?

  2. Ryback, however, dear God. Utter fail. He's an absolute Goldberg rip-off no matter what anyone says. Even down to the facial expressions. Except he's 100x less cooler than Goldberg because his stupid 'feed me more' gimmick gives him zero credibility.

    Seriously?

I mean I know he's a bit cringe worthy for most adults, but he's over as fuck, and whilst he has similar traits as Goldberg, (Bald and multiple wins), nobody really cares that much anymore.

Whilst he still needs a bit of work, I love Ryback,

SPOILER - Highlight the black box to read

and wanted him to win the rumble.

  3. For JL, I meant more in a "lead into the movie" as opposed to "origin stories" if that makes sense? Like with the Avengers, it was more than origin stories, it was the characters introduced that you'd gotten used to, as well as the hints of it all leading to The Avengers movie. By the time Avengers came out, it was a huge deal. Whilst JL will still be a big thing to many, I just don't think it'll have the same success as many non-comic book fans will be all like "Whos that? / That isn't the same batman as last time/ etc etc" , Not that it won't make any money, but i just think Avengers will come across as the better movie.

As for the movie itself, I'm personally hoping for something crazy to go down, along the lines of the the "Crisis on Infinite Earth" that involves the Flash sacrificing himself, leading into a stand alone flash movie, where Wally West becomes The Flash. The JL film could do a similar thing to have wally as Kid Flash in a background role, thus making him more familiar come the time of the Flash movie.

Man of Steel is going to be huge. I cant describe how pumped I am for that.

  4. Final Roster for Justice League film

No Martian Manhunter, Aquaman or any of the dozens of part timers that have been in the team over the years, looks like it will be Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman and The Flash.

It just depends on what they plan on doing now. IIRC it was mentioned that this might be a stand alone universe, (away from Man of Steel) that introduces the new Batman, as well as Flash and a new Green Lantern.

At least i'll get to see Flash on the big screen, as he's a personal favourite of mine. Personally I'm not sure Justice League will work as well as Avengers, if anything mainly due to lack of pre-justice league movies, so no tie in hero movies leading to JL.

It'd be nice if we had Henry Cavill, and maybe at a strech Ryan Reynolds back for this.

  5. Steiner vs Goldberg from Fall Brawl was better than Goldberg vs DDP. That should have been at least in the list. The Outsiders vs Sting, Savage and Luger and The Wolfpac vs Flair, Kevin Greene and Piper should have been in there as well.

Whilst that was a great match, it was just the "feel" of Goldberg/DDP that does it for me. Goldberg was the undefeated champion, (streak and all) and DDP was the peoples champion, with not many people, if any at all, kicking out of the Diamond Cutter. When he hit Goldberg with the Cutter I 100% thought he was going to win, Plus with Goldberg's one armed Jackhammer to finish the match, it was just amazing.

I also agree on Sting/DDP from the Nitro, another amazing match. If anybody remembers Goldberg/Wolfpac Sting from Nitro, that was another cracker of a match.

  6. I'm sure many people from in the industry would just say to smack him back.

When I did a spot of training I was directly told, if it happens, you give him one back or give him a "receipt". The in ring competition is based on trust, but the etiquette is very different, based more on respect, than anything else I've ever come across. If somebody is being a cock, they keep a slap. You don't call the police, you just man up, and give him one back. You're right in saying it shouldn't happen, but that would be for the workers to sort out between themselves.

As stupid as that sounds, that's the way it works, and if you are not tough enough to be in that world, you shouldn't be around it. I can imagine anybody who worked a bit snug with him, he must of thought they had it in for him or something.

  7. Loads of older fans already do. And kids wouldn't need him to end the streak to turn on him. It would be a phenomenal ending for me, though, because the reaction to it would be like "18 seconds" and Cena beating Lesnar times a million. Cena's new T-shirt that night should be yellow with a trollface in the middle.

Ahh, but many fans are starting to say "well you know, hes ok etc etc". As an example the only people recently I've seen that activly hate him now are the ROH type who say "LOL he cant wrestle!!". With the turn how i suggested it, IMPO, all the younger kids would hate him. The guys who already do have an excuse to boo more, and those of use who just see Cena as "generic super cena" would most likely instantly hate him because he tapped out Taker and took the streak.

As people have said he doesnt "need" it, but for me it'll take him to that superstar level where he should be.

He's already been there for years.

Has he really though? Think about it, is he WWE's top guy, of course he is. But is he on the level Triple H/Rock/Austin or Taker are? No he is not, and WWE have been shoving him down our throats for years, but that doesn't mean he is at that level. To me this would bring to that next level.

That process already happened with Cena in 2003.

He did turn in 2003, correct, but the main point is that whilst he was "over" as a smart ass mid card heel, his initial face turn was received well. WWE changed his character to be a bit of a more straight laced type for the younger audience, and his initial charisma that won us over slowly faded, and as such he never really got as over as he should be.

What I'm saying is with the heel turn, it allows him to reconnect with the fans initially through his heel promos, again as the rock did, so when he turns face again in a few years, he's even more super over.

Again this is all my personal opinion, but I think it'd work.

  8. Yeah, Michaels had a good reason to be in the HHH/Undertaker match, which played into the story leading up to and during the bout. Austin obviously doesn't. Unless he's still pissed about the Ministry.

Well he did try to crucify him. If you can't be hold a grudge about that, then you're a more forgiving man than I am.....

  9. Quick one,

I mentioned it a while ago, but I have gone and set up a comic book review site! It's just for fun and stuff, and am in need of some help filling up the site.

At the moment, I'm mainly focusing on collected volumes/movies/games/etc, [but have a section for random issues], and if anybody would like to contribute by either reviewing new stuff or any older books we don't already have listed, then please drop me a line and we'll sort something out.

Link is in my sig but otherwise its comic-collective.com !

Let me know if anybody is interested

  10. The only thing I can't see is Undertaker submitting, it would more likely be a twenty-seven chair shots type deal for me.

That's what makes the proposed heel turn even more amazing for me.

To be honest the submission would follow the 27 chair shots, but because nobody really thinks that realistically he would lose at all, (let alone submit), to me every single wrestling fan (from kids to the older fans) would instantly hate him, and it would take Cena to that "level" ,[the real superstar level], that they've tried pushing him to for years. And with massive heel heat, ultimately comes a huge face turn down the line, which is what WWE would want......It'd be a long term deal, but would pay off.

See The Rock as an example, floundered as a white-meat baby-face in the early years, let his charisma chine through as a despised top level heel, and turned that into the mega super over face that we see today.

  11. I'm still in the mindset that should Taker/Cena happen at WMXXX, Cena needs to turn heel at the end of the match and use the STFU to submit Undertaker, (following some sort of foul play), thus taking the streak.

He doesn't "need" the streak, but IMPO doing this would make him one of the biggest heel's of all time.

  12. My point was at least on two occasions we been promised weekly TV title matches, and it did happen for about two weeks each time, (first time it happened when AJ renamed it the TV title, and it happend again more recently when Hogan introduced the new TNA monthly schedule).

As such maxwell's idea could resolve that issue as well, thus should a "non contracted" ;) wrestler win it, they would have to stay on and defend the title, it'd be interesting at least.

  13. Rumors went about saying WWE had interest in Shelly, when he left TNA, but with him being a champion in NJPW that depends on when he can leave I suppose. Benjamin would, and has been released from his ROH contract, so I presume its to talk with WWE. I'm sure MVP said he'd only go if he was to get a decent push, but I'm sure they told Tensai the same thing when he went.

Not sure about Ki though, I always presumed he was happy as Larry in Japan?

  14. I never really understood the reason why they pulled the rug out from under the Hart Dynasty after the subsequent big push and title win. It suddenly seemed to end, and then they lost the belts to a randomly paired non-tag team. If they brought him back he'd probably be alright back with Tyson for the tag belts.

Any news on Okada signing with WWE?
