  1. A "British" caff. In Omaha.

There's decent intentions there but oof! some real clangers. Quite the obsession with chocolate limes. Rice pudding just hanging out in the Mains section. And those Welsh do love their Bakewell tart.

I'll let the Scottish contingent enjoy the 'Flying Scotsman'...

I'm looking for a good free or very cheap photo / picture editing tool. What would the good ship UKFF recommend these days?

Photopea.com. Identical to Photoshop but awesome price.

  3. First was Dire Straits at the Auckland dome in 1991. I was on holiday and under 15s were allowed with any adult ticket (what a great deal!).

Best was hard to decide. But I have fantastic memories of seeing Brian Wilson in 2009 at Guilfest with Midnight Zeus, warbling about the California sun while it pissed down in a field in Guildford. Sure the Wondermints did 99% of the work but there's something magical about listening to this doddery old man spin fairy tales in front of you, that I'd been singing all my life.

I guess I've been lucky and never had a truly bad gig. But Silver Sun at the Esplanade in Southend 1997 had a terrible audience bar me and my mate and they just weren't connecting. We were loving it but nobody else seemed to have heard their eponymous debut album. No Lava for them.

costing him a lucrative deal with Silver Vision as a reviewer, then refusing to back it up.

And Zeusy Steve working for SV at the time and saying "no, we've never had anything to do with you."

Anybody fooked around with AI in any capacity?

What is the best AI for generating pictures ?

It's a broad question as they use different learning sources. I think Midjourney does the most jaw dropping and believable stuff but I think it's paid access only.

My personal favourite was Goth World, a theme park.

For me, Silvio's the one for whom the "bastard moments" are particularly shocking, because the rest of the time, he just comes across like a gruff, likable, cartoonish guy who's more judicious and restrained before resorting to violence, so the bits when he kills Adrianna, or when he beats up and drags the stripper back to the club really stand out. It's at those points I felt a little bit irked for allowing myself to be suckered in by the writing and to almost completely forget the entire premise of the show (but then I suppose that's meant to be the whole point). Most of the other crew characters are fairly obvious arseholes on a regular basis, with the exception of Bacala.

Stevie had a lot of sway on how his character was written; with a few tiny exceptions you never see him with a goomar for example, and is rarely violent. And he got his wife cast too! He was such a dream team pick for David Chase he was happy for him to have whatever he wanted.

For a game that only requires the four keyboard arrow keys (and the ESC key to see the map), Vampire Survivors is fucking great, isn't it? It seems that as you keep playing and plugging away, more and more layers of gameplay reveal themselves. It's just excellent, and I'm incredibly lucky that there isn't a proper Android version or else I'd be truly fucked.

I couldn't tell you a lick about the soundtrack though, as it's also an excellent podcast game. Up there with Slay The Spire, Rogue Legacy, Dead Cells, Hades, and Binding Of Isaac as games to work on your podcast queue. And I've not even moved past the first character yet, despite unlocking more than a dozen more so far.

The always brilliant Kim Justice did a piece on this last week

  8. Either:

ScottishSiren has seen this transformation and wants to inform us how an old poster is getting on.

    or

The Artist Formerly Known As Tommyboi is posting under a new alias and proud of their new identity.

I don't really care which it is. Either way, Emily looks great and I'm really pleased for her finding herself. I hope she's happy.

All of the entries have now been entered into the Rumblomatic 5000 and a discrepancy has cropped up.

@RedRooster and @Onyx2 have both selected 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30. We cannot be having this, so as RedRooster picked these numbers first, this will be honoured.

Onyx2 - you have until midnight to send revised numbers, or you will receive a lucky dip courtesy of random.org.

    Fair dos. 22, 24, 26, 28, 30.

And if that's an issue I'll have a lucky dip. Cheers.

hadn't thought abotu some of the more technical facts tarpering off interest for non-trainy folk - I think it's definitely something I need to slim down/trim the fat for

You do whatever you want - you asked for opinions from nontrainy people so that's what I gave you. But the whole thing about YouTube is to appeal to every niche and I can see there's a lot of traininess around. Check your average view duration on these sorts of videos to let you know.

But if you did want to diversify you could experiment with more layperson content.

How / where do you promote your videos?
