Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret.

As reported by @SuperBacon in his 15,003 viewings so far, wonderful. A near perfect follow-up to Kelly Fremon's Craig equally funny The Edge of Seventeen, just packed full of funny and sweet moments, populated by nice people just trying to get by. Rachel McAdams needs to hurry up and be in everything.

I've seen this 15,001 less times than Bacon but agree, it's brilliant. Rachel McAdams is fantastic. Still gorgeous too, obviously.

  2. Lots of people say "like" or "you know" a lot while talking. Mostly while thinking. I do a big "errrrrrrr" to fill gaps in sentances. It's fairly annoying. However, when people say "as I said" or "like I said" as their little speech-tick, it really annoys me. A bloke on local radio does it all the time and I heard Nedum Onuoha doing it on the Gab & Jules show this week. No, you didn't fucking say!

Nedum Onuoha giving his opinion on stuff like he was David Beckham or something is also annoying. You were a Poundland Micah Richards, mate.

They should start building towards Punk vs Logan Paul for Wrestlemania night one main event as soon as possible. Because while it wouldn't be against an actual wrestling legend or big name, it would be a huge celebrity match that would generate massive interest against someone who's really, really good, and he might go for that. The story avenues write themselves. The match would be excellent.

    Make it a shoot fight!

That's a heel having a pop at strong babyface former champions (his enemies) Smithers and Bret, that we the fans saw through as a dickhead heel boasting without merit, surely? As opposed to the modern "this belt's been booked like shit but I've made it matter again" smarky bollocks.

Yeah, it's more drenched in kayfabe back then. Just pointing out how long that's gone on. Funny that the likes of Dolph Ziggler wanted to restore the prestige of a belt Shawn said was shite 20 years earlier.

On IC Title chat, I did find it very funny at Survivor Series that they had The Miz claiming to have "brought credibility back to the Intercontinental Title" - a claim that wrestlers have been making for about twenty years

Shawn Michaels made that claim during his first run with the belt. So over 30 years ago. Such a horrible crutch and one I'm surprised anyone would have wanted highlighting given they booked it in the first place.

That is a fair point although there are plenty of people who absolutely hate WWE, who for some reason tuned into that, just so they can immediately moan about it online, and always were going to.

That to me is utterly mental. Find something better to do with your time*

WWE are many, many terrible things but are unarguably an outstanding business doing very numbers at the moment. What reason is there for them to sign CM Punk if not to get eyes on the product from people who don't otherwise watch or like them? They'll not mind that there is a side effect of giving the other mob a bit of a kicking but he's not needed for any other reason. They don't need him for any particular role, they don't need bodies, they don't even need another pretty broken down vet. This is a company that just heated up The Miz to the point where some people wanted him to beat Gunther, according to the podcast I listened to - a man whose career peaked 12 years ago. They could put anyone in this slot. You only sign Punk if you want to attract different people to watch and discuss your shows. That's worked, whatever they are saying about it.

None of them are really active on any socials, but yeah I hope they're all good.

    Top lads.

I’m just coming to the end of another relisten of it.

None ste especially active on social media any more and I believe Stewart moved away after it finished. There was a period towards the end where they went a few months without an episode as he was having a poor time with his mental health. Hopefully he’s OK in whatever he’s doing now, but I’m sure I remember seein he something about him having moved

Cheers fellas. I looked on their social media a little while ago but couldn't find anything recent. Shame, be nice to know they're OK after spending a couple of hundred hours with them this year.

Oh yeah, I wasn't meaning to refer to any reaction on here, I scrolled through my almost never used Twitter account and was just overwhelmed by the bitterness and determination to hate anything the pantomime villains WWE do.

Still a fucking dunce then, Mo?

There’s a remarkable skill in your recent posts, a sort of exquisite venom, that leaves the reader in no doubt that not only do you think wrestling is full of cunts, you think the people watching it - indeed commenting on it on here - are also complete cunts.

    It’s impressive.

    Still, looking forward to Raw.

I absolutely do. But, I include myself, Dazzler. I'm fucking embarrassed that I've followed this garbage all my life and even more depressed that I still care enough to even read about it. Never gonna lie about my opinion but I also resist the urge to reply about 50 times a day because I know how tiresome that would be.

  10. Couldn't give a shit. He came back two years ago and it was perfect. He then reminded us for a few months that he's brilliant. Then reminded us for the rest of the time that he's a fucking arsehole.

It's over. I can't imagine what sort of person would want to see him now. But then I can't imagine what sort of person would watch Seth Rollins on a weekly basis so what do I know?

  11. After several failed attempts over the past 9 years, I finally got into and listened to all of the New Generation Podcast. Hurrah. Anyone know what the guys are up to these days and if they're all OK? Mad to think that by the time I got to the end, it's already been finished for 5 years.

    It's on tomorrow.

The current card, which I certainly did not just copy off of Wikipedia, is:-

1    Gunther (c) vs. The Miz    Singles match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship

2    Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Zoey Stark    Singles match for the Women's World Championship

3    Cody Rhodes, Seth "Freakin" Rollins, Jey Uso, Sami Zayn, and Randy Orton vs. The Judgment Day (Damian Priest, Finn Bálor, "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio, and JD McDonagh) and Drew McIntyre    Men's WarGames match

4    Bianca Belair, Charlotte Flair, Shotzi, and Becky Lynch vs. Damage CTRL (Bayley, Asuka, Iyo Sky, and Kairi Sane)    Women's WarGames match

    5    Carlito vs. Santos Escobar

I mean, it'll be good because WWE's PPVs always over-deliver but Survivor Series has always been the least interesting of the BIG PPVs but I also want to see it live just in case Pepsi Phil pops in. Which he won't.

Who else will be giving a watch to this wrestling? .ae

Makes Survivor Series 1992 look like Mania 17.

  13. Arancini and Bruschetta from a good Italian. Normally share with the wife but I'll have both, twice.

Then I'd have the Taco bowl I had from a Mexican restaurant in Wisconsin. They can bring the margaritas and multi coloured nachos from the table and some of their own hot sauce.

Then Jam Roly Poly and custard.

Then some of my Mum's steak. I'd put that under me because it's so rubbery, it'd stop the current frying me.

  14. Massively stretching the definition of cooking but I tried this "Pizza" toastie I've seen in loads of shite short videos. Man I fucking hate that format. Anyway, had some leftover pizza sauce so tried this. It's got pizza sauce, cheese and pepperoni inside and then pizza sauce and more cheese on top. 7 mins in the air fryer. The cheese on top melts beautifully and you end up with something that's crispy on the outside but soft and warm in the middle. There's loads of garbage on those Tick Tock style videos and I'm sooooooo over covering everything in fucking cheese because the "cheese pull" makes people watch anything but this was genuinely good.

  15. I nearly went with wrestling too. It's not that it's dull, it's just that I'd rather admit to having kept a spreadsheet of the 100 greatest cheese sandwiches I've ever had than admit to being a fan!

    Great thread. You dull fuckers.

I mean it is possible for the guy to be smart AND have dumb political opinions.

It's wrestling. Smart means he's progressed beyond Topsy and Tim books and got a degree in Media Studies or something equally worthless.

Val Venis is another smart thinker in the wrestling dressing room. All those guys who have a "great mind for the business" are all alcoholics and drug addicts who've treated women like animals and animals like garbage and would never be employed by anyone bar the biggest carny cunts of them all.

The only dumber fucks on the planet are the people who pay to watch them. This dumb fuck included.

  17. Watched The Station Agent. I fucking adored this. If every film felt like this one, I'd give up my job like @SuperBacon and watch films all day. I'm not skilled enough to explain why but I was just completely gripped throughout. Three brilliant characters, two flawed and broken, making magic together by just eating, talking and watching trains.

I'd forgotten how much I loved Michelle Williams around 2000. She was stunning. Lovely to see her again.
