  1. https://www.indiewire.com/features/interviews/alex-garland-clarifies-claims-retiring-directing-1234970430 He's rowed back on that somewhat, more that he's focusing on screenwriting for the next while, but not ruling out directing again in the future.
  2. All fair points. Tbh I'm probably just a bit salty about the loss today. Not a tremendous afternoon for the parish.
  3. You literally just said in response to lighthearted dig not even directed at you: So I'm not sure that seems to be something that feels like the start of a reasonable, good faith debate, in fairness. But sure, in answer to your original questions, there's a certain degree of similarity. However, that was also Arteta's first ever managerial job, which is not the case for Postecoglou, so not sure you can make a direct comparison. In terms of the project, yes Arteta had some rough seasons and it was a growth period and you're probably right in terms of there needing to be patience which I'm sure will be needed for Postecoglou in to have a chance at having his project work out. I don't personally think he is tactically adaptable enough to warrant the time required for such a project and I'm not sure what his ceiling is, from what I've seen just due to a lack of a "plan B", but I've probably not watched enough Spurs games to give a full analysis.
  4. Yes, and we were roundly mocked by Spurs fans, including yourself on here, so turnabout is fair play, no? In all honesty, it was a throwaway comment to make myself better. Writing a big paragraph in response is probably more telling. EDIT: Also very happy to see Xhaka getting a title win. A nice thing on a less than great day in football terms.
  5. Surely by that logic he'd be even more worried? As we really would need Spurs to do us a favour now? In reality, you can't drop points in games like that if you want to win the league. Same for Liverpool as ourselves. City will undoubtedly go on and win all their games now, which means you have to be perfect at the point in the season to keep up with the machine that is City. Ah well. was fun while it lasted, City might as well get the parade route planned now. Still beats getting pumped by Newcastle because "aww shucks we just want to play football, mate", so I'll take it.
  6. Hollywood Backlot Brawl at Mania 12 surely is the first one?
  7. I saw someone on Twitter saying that it was simply that Taker was often (when it suited, so not when he was being a heel) presented as "the conscience" of the WWF/WWE so was helping to even the odds. In a wider sense, I assume it was to present the "40 years of WrestleMania" in a match without saying they are and with the legends that can still physically participate.
  8. The last one night Mania (35) clocked in at over 7.5 hours including the pre-show. Yes it's a cash cow, but there was also a lot of negative attention on the runtime and the logistical issues it caused for people getting home etc, so I think boiling it down to one snarky remark is a bit reductive. New Japan did a two-night Wrestle Kingdom the very same year, in January, prior to the first two-night Mania.
  9. It might be a reach, but then according to Twitter they also played some weird music and di some stuff with the lights just for the live crowd that was very similar to what they did for Bray's return in 2022, so it's possible it could be something.
  10. Lads, I'm more convinced than ever that everyone goes back eventually. It's inevitable. Maybe not this year, maybe not next year, but at some stage. He'll be back. In a more serious sense, I would say that if he were to consider it, and a big "if" there Mox would potentially have more freedom in WWE at this stage, and I'm sure a part-time, sweetheart deal with an option to do GCW and the like (as witnessed by WWE talent working on their recent show) wouldn't be out of the question down the road, especially in a post-Vince WWE. Never say never.
  11. Yeah I was thinking that, which made me think a quick reference to their fathers/uncles having fought together is probably enough to bridge the gap and make it all fit together.
  12. Given The Rock has been very vocal in the past about seeing Haku (he'll always be Meng to me) as an uncle even if they aren't technically "related" I'm not sure it's that hard a sell in all honesty without it drifting into that mire of casual xenophobia. A quick line in a promo to say "our fathers bled together, so he's bloodline" or something better but along those lines, effectively papers over that crack pretty easily. Personally, I'd like to see what Tama can do on his own first, because I think he's a pretty good performer on his own merits, but if they must bring in fresh recruits for The Bloodline while Reigns is off, there are easy ways to connect the dots.
  13. He's Cody's business partner in the training school isn't he? Imagine they're close mates too, so not shocked he was there.
  14. If you've not made it clear that what you've said is "tongue in cheek", then yes probably you do, unfortunately.
  15. So we're saying D'Lo failed to recognise Cody's talents? Perhaps someone should tell him he's looking at the real deal now.
  16. With ay luck, Beefer's DSOTR will include him trying to do a Gazza/Raul Moat on Toronto Mayor Rob Ford after the crack-smoking scandal in 2013. From his Wikipedia (so admittedly grain of salt and all that): "On November 7, 2013, Leslie appeared at Toronto City Hall with a pair of shears and a submarine sandwich, claiming mayor Rob Ford "needed an intervention" in the wake of a high-profile crack cocaine scandal. Leslie offered to be Ford's "angel of mercy", saying "Maybe if he gets his body right, he will be able to get his mind right". Security escorted him from the property when it became apparent that Leslie was attempting to promote a brand of submarine sandwiches. The day before, fellow wrestler The Iron Sheik also tried to visit Ford, and challenge him to an arm-wrestling match."
  17. Wasn't sure where else to put it, but I wrote a little something about Godzilla and King Kong ahead of the release of Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire, thought it might be of interest (or alternatively you might think it's a load of old shit). https://filmhounds.co.uk/2024/03/godzilla-and-king-kong-a-shared-history/
  18. While I liked it a lot, that Punk segment has definitely confirmed that Seth Rollins doesn't understand irony.
  19. Looks like AJ is ready.
