Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted March 6, 2012 Author Paid Members Share Posted March 6, 2012 Yeah good to hear that. It's a positive sign aswell, them getting the rights to the FX show last week and now this, it looks like they deffo want to keep hold of the UFC on the channel. Â If they can come to an agreement to get all UFC programming on ESPN when the new deal comes up then that would be great. Main cards on the main channel and maybe stick prelims on ESPN America/Classic.
bono
Looking forward to this now.ive set it to recorded on my sky planner. Â Is the series on live every friday now then?
Paid Members MichaelScarn Posted March 9, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted March 9, 2012 For those on ESPN Freeview, the feed will cut off at 4am, missing the end 30 mins (plus any overun), but it is repeated twice Monday and Tuesday nights I think. Â Also the end to the FX2 card from last week, as it cut off at end of rd 2 of the main event, is also being repeated late Saturday night.

Shane O' Mac Version 2
Looking forward to this, I forgot about it until the last couple of days, I thought we were set for a bit of a UFC drought. Â So... 16 fights in their entirety, yes? Is that the most fights ever broadcast on a single UFC event?
StraightEdgeHero
I thought last nights Ultimate Fighter was a bit boring, not as many KO's as last years, I hope it picks up as the season goes on.
Rey_Piste
There were definitely a few fights that could have gone to another round, some of the guys were definitely like deers in the headlights though. Once the season gets going I think it's going to improve.
The Natural
Liked the one round format so fighters couldn't start slow and encouraging finishes by giving $5,000 bonuses.
mackie
I quite liked the 1 round thing as it made each fight interesting and most guys were trying to finish  My main issue with the show was the lack of the reality tv side of it. Now i don't mind 2 and a half hours of fights but when pretty much all of them are unknown and they are only given 10-15 seconds to introduce themselves.  I believe in the last fight faber mentioned half way through that they were teammates for a long time before which would have made the fight more interesting if it was mentioned at the start

StraightEdgeHero
Yeah he is my pick to win, I wish he was in the same weight class as Machida that would be a great karate match between the two.
Paid Members Bus Surfer Posted March 10, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted March 10, 2012 I thought Cruz (especially) and Faber did a good job with the voice over stuff, but with this show going so long, and the fact that there would be people watching for the first time, the fights really could have done with some commentary so help explain what was going down. Â Good stuff overall though. Some great finishes there. The broken toe was nasty.
jimufctna24
By about 12 fights in I felt it was a bit much for one broadcast. The 1 round system was a good idea, but I felt there was still overkill. Â Yes the fighters has a small window to introduce themselves, but after a solid hour of this, it got a bit old even though the fights were pretty good on the whole. You cannot create a emotional investment in a new fighter every 10 minutes, this was a episode that the hardcores who just want to see good fights will love. Even though there were some decent knockouts it takes away from it when you see 3 or 4 in the space of 12 fights or so, espicially in TUF where it does not mean much anymore to get into the house for the person watching at home as some right shite has gotten in over the years. Â With the amount of fights, it was hard for anyone to standout really, even the ones who got spectacular knockouts were erased after a few fights, the only guy I could remember well is Marcello as I recall him as the guy who choked Crazy Horse backstage in Pride. I can vaguely remember a bald Irish guy with no friends who lost, some guy who had decent Karate, a one punch knockout and some nob with a mustache who Dana was throwing a fit over for lack of activity. No names though without checking. Â For all my complaints, this season should be decent. The Live format is a good idea, I can see them telling the story of the week then cutting to the live fight. Â http://www.mixedmartialarts.com/news/39040...ut-was-perfect/ Â Dana felt it went well though and I have to give him props because he does try new things, that man has brass balls at times.
